The 1st thing should be opening oil pan and clean the damn silicone. The 2nd thing is bigger tires. 215 is a joke.
I get why track-focused GRZs up the tire width, but on the street for me the 215 is good fun and well matched to stock power and handling. 225/40/18s may go on if I move to a wintery climate really due to more options in that size -- what tires are you on now?
Where did you get the Alcantara vent covers?

This void's the warranty
No it doesn’t
If Subaru or Toyota can link the engine issue with the loss of the filter, then yes. However I don't see how the removal of this filter would cause engine problems; the increase of airflow is minimal and the original JDM factory design did not have it to start with. A chance we all take I suppose.
I 100% agree but I feel they will do anything they can to make an excuse to not pay up
#1 gotta be tint for me
Tint is such a requirement I left it off the list. It's as essential as filling the car up with gas, so I agree with you 100% 💪💪
Hello KR, where did u get the vents wrapp? Looking so nice :) greetings from switzerland
Hallo, bonjour, ciao Rico -- you are blessed to have your BRZ/86 in a land with so many great roads! Oh how I miss the Susten, Grimsel, Furka trio. I purchased the alcantara vents from EightyZips here: www.eightyzips.com/shop/p/m5s1scmpjlnjkjcj329wjylhddig2a. $100 !!! 😞 Is your car faster now? By 50 MPH?
Only 7mph gained...lol yes indeed these were pricey. Too pricey for the slightly unique factor. I think most will be fine grabbing the Amazon or AliE bits at a quarter the cost.
what's the difference between theses and the amazon ones
I haven't held the Amazon bits, but they're probably very similar. These Japanese ones have a more industrial style with the divots on the face; I can attest they fit SUPER well. I suspect the Amazon ones are worth the chance considering how low priced they are in comparison 🤙
which island are you on? I got the same plates lol first 86/brz vid i’ve seen in hawaii and the helicopter makes me feel at home

Oil pan to avoid RTV issues?
I approve of the Mario Kart items mod
Fitting of the name 😎. Which decal did you get??
What the fuck is a bezelle
I type that somewhere?? If so, that's my way of doing bezel with an accent 🤙
i think the first mod should be wide angle side mirrors. the blind spot on this car is not joke
that was the first thing i did.
Just turn your head
I'll check these out. Have a link?
My order was: Window tinting Paint protection film Ceramic coating of windows and paint Unplug fake engine noise Remove intake carbon filter Dual oil catch cans & I elected for a banana dispenser rather than ejection seat. I felt that would be more useful. I've also added brighter LED reverse lights, smoked turn signals, smoked reverse lights, & smoked side marker lights. To do's remaining this year are: printing a inside trunk handle, oil accumulator, oil cooler, and covering the bolt heads inside the door wells and seat bolts. Next year, I will pull out the entire interior, add sound deadening all around, as well as adding amps and new speakers. 2026 will have me installing a Sprintex supercharger. Then I'll see if I need to open up the exhaust.
"I felt that would be more useful" <-- 😂🤣 for sure!! Great mod list; how are the oiling mods working out? Any recommendations on where to get LEDs?
do you think their (BW) Ti (regular) teardrop would be a nice compromise on weight (300g vs 600g)? 100g more than stock, but 1/2 of this tall teardrop?
300g should be the sweet spot. I've done the 600g -- far too heavy for me. Then I did 100g -- nice notchy feel but a bit of a pain for daily driving and lacked refinement. I'm back using the OEM 197g for now, actually hunting for a nice 250-300g knob. If you get it let me know what you think...I bet the weight will be perfect but am curious on how hot the Ti will get in the summer months.
@@KonkrRoads...I have the Ti light bulb (250g) because they were out of the teardrop. The Ti get hot/cold with temperature; which is why I have driving gloves and a cover for the knob to keep the (direct) sun off of it when parked. I've also tried the Cobb tall delrin knob and it was heavier than the Ti light bulb but made shift throws very smooth, but too long for my liking on stock shifter.
more on HKS high power axle back.... these are certainly a lot easier than a) high-powered jacks, b) high-traction tires (for snow/mud/ice) , c) extendable [front] saw blades, d) [plexi] cockpit enclosure, e) IR scanning headlights, f) submarine features, and g) deployable drone... plus additional equipment such as h) grappling hook, i) 40mm rockets, j) smoke screen, k) oil slick.
Q and Bond would be proud of that mod list 💪💪

I think my 1st mod is going to be moving the gas pedal up and over for easier heel-toe downshifts!!
Good list! I’ve done all of these. I also suggest getting the GR tail if it’s your style. I think it really looks good (got mines black on sapphire to match my STi trim pieces) it should’ve came from factory, and fairly cheap (under $200 doesn’t have to be from Toyota). MTec spring really helps modulate the clutch a bit better. A wireless CarPlay dongle (newer ones connect almost instantly). A dashcam for insurance claims and 5-0 stops. Tints. Wrapped the steering wheel. I also put accessory “fog” lights on mines and changed the front grill with the eBay one, but those are a little more involved. Also upgraded my speakers, added a beat-sonic mini-amp and some dampening on doors and trunk. Changed some buttons, carbon-fiber pieces etc. This car can keep you spending money for years 😂
"This car can keep you spending money for years" <-- isn't that the truth lol!!! 27 years in the car modding game here and I see no end soon either. Dash cam seems like a good insurance bit -- which did you get? Also...GR spoiler video coming soon probably next week 😎🤙
@@KonkrRoads Make sure it has a Sony Starvis 2 sensor, it's the only sensors capable of consistently catching the license plates because of HDR and AI. They're less than a year old. Mines is a 70mai A810 (not 800), got it for about $150 with some coupons. The Viofo A119 and A229 are good also, depends on how many channels you need. Mines is front and rear, no cabin, but it will still record audio and even timestamps speed and gps info if I want.
@@Rob165xgood data, thanks Rob 🤙
Appreciate your service man and solid video. Love the minimalistic additions cuz that’s what I started with doing. Did you have your vents custom wrapped then? Sticker was one of the first ones I did as I have the banana one lol. I pretty much did everything you did but with some carbon fiber additions like the vent covers. If you’re looking for “cheaper” things I recommend tailights and window tint since it appears you’re in Hawaii. Drivenmedia has a lot of good lighting and carbon fiber options! Twins carbon as well, I have their cf mirror caps. I’m probably getting side vent inserts for my next mod 🤙🏼
Update: just watched your vent video now haha. I would probably go with the straight vent one that drivenmedia just came out with
Your plans sound solid! The a/c vents I bought wrapped from EightyZips. Took a bit but worth it. I've been thinking about clear tails and some matte cf in the interior...just not sure how far I'll go on cosmetic when the goal is a supercharger here in a year or two. What's next after the side vents for you?
@@KonkrRoads yeah I just checked out that video solid. Yes I have tons of cf on the inside lol but I’d recommend the vland clear tailights, that’s what I have and they look rlly nice. Not sure what all I’ll be doing since I’m 24 and don’t make that much money which is why I’m sticking w cosmetic stuff even though I do have an axleback and cai
Another great video, Mike! 🤘🏼

@@KonkrRoadsI haven’t purchased a BRZ or GR86 yet but looking hard for one. Can’t wait to drive one.
@@GJHeckler LOL!! I like it. I may have to install this bit for the full effect: www.ebay.com/itm/285275319444
@@GJHeckler I think you'll truly enjoy it -- what sort of cars do you typically drive or had in the past?
Another great cheap mod that should be on your list is a glass screen protector for the infotainment system, makes the screen look so much clearer and pleasing to look at. Also carbon fiber trim for around the drive mode buttons and door switch gear is a big cabin upgrade, along with a heavier shift knob.
Thanks for the tips 🤙. Have a link to the screen protector??
(2) things I would definitely add to your list are: #1 switching out the yellow looking incandescent interior and backup lights for good quality LED lights. #2 should have come this way; adding hood struts and removing the antiquated prop rod!
Good calls -- the hood prop should have been left back in 1956 where it belongs!!
I would put them in the following order: 1. Wheels and Tires. 2. Suspension 3. Intake/exhaust 4. Add oil cooler and/or an oil pan baffle 5. Radio/speakers 6. Lighting (exterior and interior) 7. Add carbon fiber pieces and I do like the Eject button. 8,9,10.....one of these will be a supercharger.
I see many going this route -- to each, their own. I'll offer a counter-view: knock out a few relatively inexpensive necessities and save funding to prioritize the supercharger once the kits are properly tested. That's my plan, at least🤙
Nice I’m about to hit two months with my baby that third button always threw me off I’m glad I saw that decal
Congrats on the new ride 🤙. You going with eject or other??
Or you could skip all that and trade in your mistake.
The only mistake I made was not buying the BRZ sooner 🤙
@@KonkrRoadsyou said it! I’m on board with your list too. I like the stock height and wheels on my GR86, so have to ignore a lot of peer pressure. Also, your HKS legamax video was a major reason I got it and was able to install it myself. Will probably never go to another exhaust!
@@KonkrRoadsI love my 2024 BRZ and have zero regrets about buying it ❣️😎
what car (2+2 sport coupe) at this price ISN'T a mistake? Eco Boost Mustang? Turbo4 Camaro? turbo4 Supra (no back seats)? MX-5 Club (no back seats and a convertible)? Perhaps a 8yo Boxster/Cayman is a better financial choice, yes? So, please do tell what isn't a "mistake".
@@K03sport exactly. Even if you get something with more power at the same price, like a used cayman, you’ll be spending more on maintenance and any parts/mods you want. Plus no back seats, which is dealbreaker for those who need to transport their kids. VW or some hot hatch? Nope, doesn’t handle the same, and/or no RWD.
If you remove charcoal you lose warranty (sadly)
If Subaru or Toyota can link the engine issue with the loss of the filter, then yes. However I don't see how the removal of this filter would cause engine problems; the increase of airflow is minimal and the original JDM factory design did not have it to start with. A chance we all take I suppose.
Can’t be true. If you add an intake, it has no charcoal filter and does not void warranty.
i've never heard anyone sound more military lol.

I drove that very road in May 2024, supposedly the "Dry Season" but a statewide week-long storm gutted the Waimea Canyon road with deep pot holes that had really damaged more than a few cars... Added to that, the two glorious lookout points Kalalau and Pu'u o Kila were both closed off because of the rsevere oad conditions! Out of our 9 day trip we had 1 complete day of sunshine and the rest cloudy and rain, and not the kind thats only a quick shower... still you took some great photography, and I know all about that having worked in HOLLYWOOD over 40 years... thought you deserved at least one comment!
It was a horrible May here in Hawaii -- so wet! Terribly sorry for your luck 😔. Thanks for having a look at the video and the good words...hopefully your next trip brings more sunshine ☀️ 🤙
@@KonkrRoads Thank you for the kind words, unfortunately my trip to Kauai was my very last flight to anywhere... I came in with the glorious era of air travel with PAN AM and TWA... The stress of the airports alone, the TSA pat downs and the guilty till proven innocent era we live in now, let alone the sardine-can airlines, well I hope you'll agree things ain't what they used to be, and it's going to get a lot worse! I saw Hawaii mostly in the 1970's when working on the original HAWAII FIVE-0, it was HOLLYWOOD and the cheap luxury flights that boomed tourism. ELVIS and his movies and an iconic tv show! What "happened" on Maui can happen to any of us anywhere, and coming from Britain, you learn very fast not to ever trust any government on anything! Aloha my friend... KAUAI is the heart and soul of your state, but I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that!

The addition of the 3rd button sticker was the icing on the cake 😅 Tastefully done. I have a ‘24 Trueno Edition, going on my 2nd month now. I absolutely love the car. Keep on enjoying yours 🤙🏽
Thanks for the props on the sticker...it gets some good laughs from my buddies. Super nice Trueno!! Glad you're enjoying it. Any plans for mods or you keeping it pure??
@@KonkrRoads You have to enjoy life any way you can! Thank you! Great question… the more I drive it, the more inclined I am to keep it pure. I want to compete in 86cup and they do have a stock class. They allow some camber arms, and minimal adjustment items, and track mods (track pads, oil cooler, bucket seat, etc) but no power adders or other enchantments. It drives so well with these Sachs dampers and big brembo brakes 😃 Nice subtle HKS touches on your ride by the way 👍🏽

Nice video!!
Hey thanks bro 😎🤙
10 mins of a man measuring his knob💀
Any drone?
No drone -- the only time the sound is somewhat unpleasant is when starting the car hot (is noticeably boomy until the revs settle...especially with the windows down) and when bogging the engine on the highway (~2k rpm has the faintest deep note that lingers). 99% of the time this exhaust is premier 🤙
How’s HKS 8 months on? 3 time lucky. Thanks
3 time lucky is right -- the HKS is still on the car and I love it the same as day one. The exhaust may be a smidge louder now, but nothing too serious; tips are still glorious 🤙. You in the market?
@@KonkrRoads Thanks. Yes, in the market, and therefore your video helped convince me on HKS. Be about £900 of our English pounds. Should be worth it though as the car is super quite as standard. Thanks again.
@@xplane7523 you'll love it for sure -- just enough to let you know the exhaust is there without alerting your neighbors or police. Enjoy 🤙
@@KonkrRoads Perfect! Thanks 👍
Great video - I too am looking for a "dad" exhaust lol. This was super helpful! Did you wind up leaving the fake sound on????
Hey thanks! Yep, I left the fake noise on for now, mostly so I can easily hear high RPMs with music up and the windows down at hooning speeds. 🤙
Just an update: I have the fake engine noise disabled now. Swapping in the JDM intake box along with a HKS drop-in air filter made the real induction noise loud enough 🤙
Awesome video, man!! Thanks for this! I’ve been searching for a quiet axel back with low notes but no ear bleeding drone. My first aftermarket system was also an N2. I thought I’d done my homework but I couldn’t live with it after 5 days. Back to stock. Hopefully this HKS will be the charm ❤
I'm impressed your ears lasted five days with the N2 lol!!! Yep, you'll be happy with the switch to the HKS. Let me know how it goes 🤙
Will do. Ears barely survived, nerves were another story 😬
Looks great 👍🏻
Hey thanks 🤙. A small mod that makes a huge impact -- really classes the interior up.
Where did you order the airbox? Are there any US vendors for it?
I ordered mine from RHDjapan for $36 + shipping. To order is a bit tricky; you have to establish an account and then request the part quote--you'll get a quote via email and then you can purchase. The part number is SU003-09558. www.rhdjapan.com/oem-public-page/ It's doubtful you'll find a US Vendor as this is a unique JDM (and Europe & Aussie) part.
Everything was good; EXCEPT, the video is way too short - next time shoot for, at least, 3 hours. You are BLOCKED

It was $330 at the time, and $600 for the exhaust. ~$930 total 🤙

I gotta say, I can't discern any feel through the steering at all. I don't think anyone else does either. It's dead, heavy, sticky...but quick. It does not load up at all as G's build. My GT3 and 570S are a revelation compared to the G series steering. The assist does drop off at 55MPH and firms things up. But between the mushy brakes and dead steering, it is hard to rejoice in the drive. For reference, I've also owned the E46/E92 M3s. They are very much more "feelsome" than the G series.
If I owned the GT3, 570S, and the new M3, I'd have to be restrained from setting the BMW's steering wheel ablaze. The Porsche and McLaren, along with the hydraulic-assisted M3s of the past are benchmarks in great steering feel, no doubt. The new M3 is no match. I am surprised to hear you have no feeling at all in yours; midturn/under G feedback is limited, granted, but I certainly sensed the road surface--I even drove over manhole covers to test. For me, the new M3 is far away from even my BRZ's steering, but I absolutely believe BMW is getting back on track from the 2014 3-series EPAS catastrophe. With luck, the new 2025 Z4 "hand shaker" will bring BMW even farther to better steering. I appreciate you having a look at my video and providing some feedback; it's not often I get to chat with someone who has multiple premier cars in their garage.
I was thinking about these as well or the STI ones. But was on the fence because I also thought it looked a bit redundant to the painted piece. Thanks for the video.
Np, glad to help 🤙
STI might have been better with the silver badge
Agreed -- the badge would at least break-up the sea of black plastic
