Med Immersion

Med Immersion

MedImmersion is a project run by a small group of students, interns, and residents who contribute during our spare time for the joy of teaching. We're a grass-roots and heart-felt effort; which is to say, that our goal is to provide you with high quality lectures, question banks, and flashcards that are on-target, high-yield, and best of all, FREE.

Our current focus is to make video lectures on pharmacology topics. We want our lectures to be short, sweet, and to the the point. Who has time for long videos?!

We’re also making professional-quality pharmacology flashcards that are available for download on our website. This is still a work in progress so be patient as we get our site and our material up.

So, whether you are looking for a simple review, or preparing for a major board exam, check us out!

If you have any suggestions or video requests, please, submit them to us at [email protected]. We'd love to hear from you!

    This is awesome, but I have to point out an error: platelets and RBCs aren't 2-10 nanometers, they're 2-10 micrometers (microns). If platelets and RBCs were <10 nm in diameter, we could not see them even with the best light microscope. But more importantly thank you for this primer on CBC interpretation.

    really? the RBC is 4.6 millions per MILLI liter, NOT microliter, as you say @2:04 . It is widely know that ordinary journalists have a big problem with orders of magnitudes... but here we are not in the context of a daily newspaper.

    Has anyone quit Clonidine after a few months or so. If so, how were the withdrawals?

  • @SammyStanski
    @SammyStanski Жыл бұрын

    Withdrawals can be shitty not going to lie. I had bad headaches, confusion and the worst of it all was a major increase in hypertension because the body was so used to me taking it to relieve high blood pressure. So yeah it can make your blood pressure out of whack. Your doctor can help with tapering off and taking supplements like fish oil to aid in the hypertension goes a long way.

    Thank you so much! This is so well explained. I am not a vet or med student but I am trying to better understand my cat's blood profile. Vets hardly find the time to give a detailed explanation and my cat can't talk to me about what is hurting him, so I am teaching myself to understand it better. I have found great vet books that point out the difference in cats compared to other species and humans so this is a great combination.
