Do you think a chem engineering degree is more favoured by top firms than an economics degree in the corporate job market
It really depends on what department you’re going into. If you have plans to be the next CFO then I’d lean more towards economics (even in an oil and gas field), but if you have plans to be head of engineering or head of supply chain, a chem eng degree might be more suited. But again, this depends on the type of company also. Look at the C-suite LinkedIn profiles of companies you’re targeting. Your answer can usually be found there 😊
Please does it apply to nurse ? I need a quick answer please. I have a test tomorrow and I’m using Saville
Best review ever so far was thinking about getting it now I'm definitely getting it
You pretty as hell with ur face mask on😂😂
Great tips! I have a civil engineering degree apprenticeship assessment centre soon and your videos are a huge help.
✨
Hi Temi, I am currently an Meng Chemical engineering graduate, what’s your advice in terms of getting my first graduate job, i have no experience as well
Hi Jessie, first thing is make sure your CV is up to scratch!! You’ll soon be able to book with me directly to get your CV checked 😊
Thank youuuuu! I think my CV is okay for now as I have landed about 4 interviews, i just struggle with interviews! hopefully i will be able to book directly with you soon
What resources do you use to practise?
Thank you for your tips, it helps me a lot. Love from Indonesia!!
You're so welcome!
Hi tems, I see you are working in contract and procurement department , how does it relate to chem engineering, I am studying chem eng and also doing my internship in contract and procurement, I want to know from your point of view, thanks
Hi I'm really interested in doing chemEng but I'm scared that it doesn't have a wide job prospect. I'm thinking of Pharmacy, ChemE or Biochem.
Same hereee, but im also afraid it is bad for health as some said it might cause cancers, even tho some ppl said the opposite
Saving this video for my AC in a few days, coming back to say I got an offer!, AMEN
Amen!
Did you get the offer?
Thanks Temi! that's really helpful. Do u have any recommended case book/ case resources or any more resources especially in the supply chain, chemistry, EV, ESG industry to improve commerical awareness about those areas?
Hello Tess, you inspire me. I'm studying science in the OU and I would like to further my degree in chemical engineering but I have difficulties in physics and maths. What kind of books can I get please
Hi, could I ask an irrelevant question? Do multi-vitamins and cosmetics sold in those dollar stores carry the same grade of quality as the same ones sold in major supermarkets? I don't have any classmates or friends doing chemical engineering so I just have to hop onto Internet to find out.
Hi! I heard chem eng is 90% engineering and 10% chemistry which is the reason why I applies to physical science/ chemistry programs since I love chemistry. But now Im wondering if I should have chosen chem eng. My question is how much chemistry is in chem eng and did I choose the wrong program?
oh yeah im a Canadian student btw
Hey! I don’t think you chose wrong at all. I’d definitely agree that chem eng is 10% chemistry, depending on your mix of classes. I always tell people that we USE our chemistry knowledge, but that’s pretty much it. I don’t think I learned much more chemistry during my degrees compared with when I started. You didn’t choose wrong if you love chemistry 😊. You can also do a MSc in chem eng later if you still want to grasp the basics of chem eng, but not commit years and years to it. Hope that helps!
I hope for your great future Love you and thank fo this video This made me feel happy
OMG thank you. You've actually saved my life, honest. 😁😊
Glad I could help!
it's busineess graduate scheme
hey tems am going for technical and competence virtual assessment centre that will involve , written excercise , role play , presentation , and group work . any help will do it happening in a week time
hey Tems just got to see your vid it's awesome, going through it over and over getting ready for Ac with EDFin a week time
Thank you for this, very helpful to hear the direct experience and thoughts. Could you say a bit about getting those first jobs? There's a lot of talk out there that it's a nightmare and we would struggle with that first job. Early jobs aren't supposed to pay a fortune, they are about getting experienced, but is it going to be a frustrating 2 year stretch of trying and applying and not hearing back from anyone? It seems that huge numbers of graduates are being turned out every year. Appreciate your thoughts.
What about assessment centre for law firms for solicitor apprenticeship
Hi TEMS love your content thank you - I have a question more of a request so I have e an assessment centre in just under two weeks in the ElEnergy Industry and wish to know more commercially since I have no prior knowledge. May you please share any resources with me so I can best prepare? Thanks 😊
Thank you so much Tems. Your tips really helped
hi there! im very curious to know your opinion on chemistry major and chemE major... i want to major in chem but im scared the pay wont be as good and if the demand isnt tht high in my country..
Hey! I’d say it depends on what you’d like to go into after. I think the range of industries/ business areas you can go into as an engineer are broader, however sciences are definitely in demand in more specific business areas like R&D. If you prefer a more general management or engineering career, I’d say do engineering, but if you want more of a specialist career in chemistry or pilot plant work, I’d be leaning more towards chemistry :)
@@TEMSInfluence ahh i see~ thank u so so much :)<3 have a wonderful day!!
Hey, just wanted to ask how long your literature review took and when you started working on it?
Hey! I really procrastinated about it so I did it in 3-4 days but that is ALL I did for those days 😭😭
@@TEMSInfluence Thanks for the reply, that's good to hear! I'm pretty much last minute with everything at uni but it seems to work well for me. Still got about 2 weeks left for this.
I did the assessment centre about a month ago, it was fun and I liked the experience and I think I did well but today I got the rejection email. It really saddened me especially that I was confident and I thought I did well.. but it is what it is
I sincerely want to thank God for the opportunity to come across your video during my prep for an assessment. I was made an offer, I could not but say thank you. You're doing well You're a true star.
Thank you! Wish you all the best 🙂
Hey thanks for the video Are there scholarships for international students who want to also do masters in chemical engineering in the uk
I really want to be a chemist but disheartened by how much more engineers are paid!!! 😭 HELP!
That is so real. I’d say do chemistry and work for a good paying business in R&D/quality in manufacturing, if you want to use your educational background. Both chemical engineers and chemists can do these roles. For engineers the range of roles just might be slightly larger e.g. they’ll also be able to due process engineering, but they will definitely work with chemists. Hope this helps and great question!
Hi, any advise for a Bsc. ChemEng student who is now navigating chemical engineering careees
Hii, take a look at my engineering degrees in the UK video. It talks a bit about this!
Great temi,i always watch and like your videos❤,some might say that am your biggest fan lol. well I want to be in the chemical and process industry after graduating.
Aww thank you for watching !! 😊😊
I totally get it. I got my Master's Degree in Procurement & Acquisition Management and the work can be a drag. But I've since transitioned to teaching Supply Chain and audit work. I don't miss the days of negotiations
Negotiations can be so longgg!
@@TEMSInfluence I concur
So much information in a small video! After listening to this, no wonder I failed my last 2😅! Keep making great videos like this! Subscribed😁
Glad it helped!
Really enjoyed this vlog!! As a Chem eng graduate, I'd love to know what role you're currently doing if you don't mind & is it in the chem eng field?
Great to hear 😊 and it’s a supply chain management role
Please where can I get free case studies practice test to prepare for my assessment center?
Soo fun !!! These networking events aren’t easy but are always worth it 💯💯💯
Totally agreeeee
Love it!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this Temi! and your thumbnail, “Networking is uncomfortable, Do it anyway” 🙌🏽
Thank you Lorraine!!
“You don’t have to be big, you just have to be visible” I love that!
Sameee
Not a clown 🤡 😂
Hey, This was a nice listen. Having had my own fair share of assessment centre days here in Kenya, I'd just like to add that for even consulting companies, they also test for business acumen and commercial awareness. With McKinsey for example, I was given a business scenario to up the profits of a fake Airline. So its not just random questions but almost real-life case scenarios.
thankyou so much for the insight interviewing with them for my group assessment next week any more pointers you would give please
I just subscribed....Thanks for this Video
✨Love the vlog ✨
Thanks for watching ☺️
✨
