hello, I was wondering where you got the stl for the mirror two mount? I have the files from hawkins/replicantfx, but have the cloudray mirror and laser head like you do. I found the laser head, but can't find the file for the mirror two mount

Gosh I’d have to do some digging. I may still have it on my computer.

@DavidR8 I would greatly appreciate it. I built a 24x39 in another style and I can't keep it square and the laser aligned to save my life. I think this style would work waaay better using the 2040(other one is 2020 that I designed brackets for to keep the long rails level)

I found the file. It's called "X_carriage-Cloudray-pointer" I may have got it from Chris Brierly on one of the K40 mod Facebook groups.

Does it clear the base of the X axis when wound all the way from left to right?

Yes it did.

@@DavidR8 I didn’t think that style would due to the size

@@freestyla101it will depend on what mill you have. That mill, a Long Chang LC30 had a fair bit of distance between the table and the base casting.

@@DavidR8I have virtually the same machine. The top half of the table will actually travel over the bottom half leaving it exposed in either direction by a good 5” or so. This is why you see the other style of powerfeed that does not hang down - it doesn’t foul on the table. Its a shame I can’t see the side of your table where the hand wheel is

What brand did you use for the powerfeed?

I used a powerfeed from Vevor. Nothing special.

How much of the original parts and mechanics were you able to you, and what did you have to fabricate?
@DavidR8 Жыл бұрын
All new parts except for the enclosure, tube, first mirror and power supply, control switches and limit switches

@@DavidR8 Thanks! I've considered trying to convert my K40 to a larger one, but am daunted by having to almost start from scratch. That and I don't have the 3D printer to make the extra parts.

Sweet dude! PrintNC’s are so nice super customizable and very addictive once you start building and upgrading

Such a useful thing to have. Did you have any problems with the controller and the arc starting? Is it a HF start? I am going to attempt to use my plasma cutter with my PrintNC. Anything I should look out for? My machine is a HF start.

HI and thanks! From all the research I did HF start can cause issues with controllers. I went great lengths to buy a blow-back start machine so I have no issues whatsoever with interference.

@@DavidR8 thanks good to know. Probably best to just avoid the problem. I will have a look around to see what available.

HI there. Did you use the Aliexpress kit? I have my machine working but it is definitely loosing some steps. I am about to switch the controller and the steppers over to closed loop. Discord has a lot of complaints about the cheap drivers in the kit. What are you using if you don't mind me asking?

Hi, thanks for the sub! I’m using the kit drivers and so far not had any issues.

would love to see a sidevieuw of the setup , have a rf45 and im not sure if it would clear the base when mounted that way

1.25” actually. I also owned a Gallenmeyer and Livingston 10x24” grinder that that took 10” wheels with 2” bore.

Norton and CGW manufacture wheels with 2" bore.
