Hey Steven, was wondering how many cards you send to PSA for grading at a time to make sure you have a constant/predictable turnaround time. I see other people on KZread do 50-100 card submissions but don’t get the grades back for a year plus…is 20 at a time fine to get a 2-3 month turn around?
@PokemonSteven8 сағат бұрын
Hey man, psa grades really fast at the moment. I usually send 1000 each month, usually towards the end. Gives me a 4-5 week break inbetween returns

If you were starting an eBay store from the ground up, what strategies would you use to drive traffic to the store with the goal in mind to begin making sales daily? You've mentioned in this livestream the "set and forget" nature of eBay, which is totally true and makes the grind way too real when it comes to turning over inventory for new cards, which I'm finding to be a bit of a slog outside of running auctions. Thanks!

Do you think it's hard to spend money on something for your personal collection? I find it hard because that money instead could be used to make profit. Also especially with Japanese cards, prices are falling and it's hard to know where the bottom is.

Question Steve, Ive found your channel recently and I’ve been binging your videos (they’re freaking awesome) , I notice when asked about investing you always say that you don’t invest you just buy cards and then list them at market price and if they go up then that’s great too. What I don’t understand is if your listing the cards immediately how do you still take advantage of price increases when your card more then likely will get sold before or long before you take notice that the price has gone up, for example you list a card for $60 at market price and the card jumps to $120 market price. Wouldn’t your card be sold alongside the others that were listed at that $60 price range as the price is increasing. Can you elaborate on how you take advantage of price increases my peanut brain can’t come up with a conclusion !

Hey Steve! One of my biggest gripes when I'm preparing cards for listing is when I'm marking the condition of the cards on penny sleeves. It seems like no Sharpie I use dries fast enough to prevent the sleeves from sticking to the marker as I note the condition on the sleeve and re-stack them, and nothing is worse than having to un-stick 100 sleeved cards from one another and have all the markings mangled in the process. Any tips here?

Awesome video Steven, thanks for confirming that you haven't altered your Ricoh scanner. I nearly made the huge mistake by taking out the black plastic arms which you can't put back once removed, thanks for the heads up, you saved me from messing up my machine! I seen loads of other card stores using the same scanner but they have all removed the roller in order to scan cards in Toploaders and semi rigids, the problem once the roller is removed the black arms then leave a vertical scratch line on the cards which is obviously not good. I only intend to scan raw cards myself so I'm glad I didn't take the arms out like I nearly did 😮 Love the Ikea set up you have, very neat and organised!

How is grading less work? Inspecting over and over, it’s already eating at your money to grade (work) and all the time to ship-return (time is money, work). The reward seems like a lot more stress, especially with new sets or interest fading while waiting for cards to return.
@PokemonSteven5 күн бұрын
I guess its less work for the dollar amount you can achieve. But when you say it like that, grading does have more work, time and money involved upfront.

Hi Steve. Thank you for all the great contents. You have actually inspired me to become a card seller on ebay. I am just wondering do most of your customers buy single cards in bulk? Because I saw you only listed them with standard shipping which would cost a lot more than some listings with economy shipping. I’ve been trying to use economy shipping to stay competitive but already faced with a few INR claims and also received a strike from ebay for not providing actual tracking. Appreciate your time if you could give some advice on this.

I like your setup a lot. For a shop based out of the home this looks about the perfect size I'd want for my main inventory. For now I'm using two 3-draw, under-desk cabinetd that perfectly fit a 6 x BCW 3,200 ct boxes straight & 6 x 1200 ct box sideways in each drawer, so ~22,500 cards with some being in sleeves, plus there's a spot at the front of each drawer where I have high-price cards in top loaders/card savers sealed in team bags. They're from 2001 and made in Germany so I have no idea how I'll ever find more... Then I have 2 BCW 5000ct boxes of inventory for sorting and 1 5000ct with competitive cards like trainers and random deck staples (I do TCGplayer so a lot of folks want those). Ikea Kallax shelves here in the states are perfect for 4 row boxes so I've looked at getting a few of those for bulk storage, but haven't needed them yet. Mason at CardNAll games also made a video recently showing some different IKEA shelves similar to these. Those look pretty nice as well, but they're a bit shorter and wider. I like the shape of these ones you're showing more because of the vertical storage space.
