I prefer them under the glass like citizen do it. UV glue is good for this as it will only start to set with a UV light.
It's a beautiful watch and I want to buy one, but I'm torn between which size to get. I wish they made it in 42mm. With a 7.5" -8" wrist depending on the time of year and my fluctuating weight of about 20lbs., a 42 mm would be perfect.
I have four watches right now, and don't find any of them to have particularly effective/long-lasting lumes. Sort of disappointing. (Panzera 40 aquamarine, Oris big crown pointer date, Mido ocean star tribute, and G Shock)
Hi, nice video. Do you have the link to the aftermarket bracelet?
got three straps for about 100 bucks , very nice quality, but i cant vouch for the durability yet
Beautiful watch. Worn this every day for last 15 years on a leather strap 🙌
Such a shame, as the Sideral itself is an attractive design and certainly different.
Both nice, I prefer the looks of the Tudor. I do wish the Tudor had an exhibition case back. (I prefer that on any watch haha) Maybe field watches don't typically have that? Either way, good video!
Sinn,laco,stowa
Some years back, I bought a $1000 Tissot. Three years later, it was unrepairable and they offered me a $200 discount. Never again.
Not a huge fan of Tissot but on the used market there are some great bargains.
If you watch my first review of the Sideral I say that as a one and only watch I wouldn’t recommend it but as part of a large collection it adds some element of fun and colour. I have plenty of so called boring watches so this was a departure. 😊😊
Your timegrapher is plastic not good quality
Not the best for sure but it works well for me as an amateur hobbyist. 😊
Nothing wrong with that timegrapher, lots of shops use them…
good video
I like your hat😊 ….
Thanks! It was actually gifted to me
The amplitude is too high - looks like it’s overbanked and this is causing the rate figure to jump about because of knocking from the roller jewel hitting the other side of the pallet fork. This could also be linked to the far-too-high beat error. For a modern watch it’s not common - perhaps the banking pins got damaged somehow, or ETA somehow put the wrong mainspring in the watch, neither of which seems likely, but those are the usual reasons.
Thanks for the information, let’s see what happens over the next few weeks as I wait for it to come back from a second service?😮
I don´t know the powermatic 80 well enough but the amplitude seems quiet high with over 340°. Maybe the movement is already "knocking" with that high amplitude?!
That was my thought as well.
@@canadianwatchmonkey3992 did you check the watch with only a bit of wind in it? The rate should be stable with a low wind. Knocking normaly only happens at full wind.
Tudor Glamour date 36m very good
It’s a lesser known hidden gem that I like better then the bb36, I’ve owned both but the glamour date is the one that stays
Hmmmmm I have a couple Tissot on my radar, the gentlemen for example has a quartz option or the Powermatic 80, I think if I go For one I might just go for the quartz version, hassle free! Great video as always John, and I sure hope you get a bunch more subscribers you definitely deserve it!!
For a daily wear a quartz is a great choice, you get all the looks without the problems of a mechanical watch 😊 plus the savings is considerably large
@@canadianwatchmonkey3992 my Thoughts exactly John :)
I have the Carrera 66491 automatic the original one, but the cyclops is removed. I want to ask for professionals, why would the cyclop be removed for? What is the reason?
Some people don’t like the look of a cyclops, personally I prefer it as it ads visual interest plus my eyes are not as good as they were
I think you should try adjusting the beat error yourself and see if you can get those 2 lines closer together. Then see what the rate becomes and adjust accordingly. The printout they gave you honestly doesn't look that amazing and I bet you could get better results if you regulated it yourself. I got a San Martin with the Seiko GMT movement to about 3 seconds fast per day. 0.1 beat error.
I would but if I open the watch it will most likely void future warranty
@@canadianwatchmonkey3992 I don't see how they could tell.
You say you’re into watches, but still you buy a watch that makes you look like a parrot and if that’s not enough, it has a Lowermatic 80 inside! Jeez, what were you thinking?…
Maybe he bought it so that you would have something to talk about. This watch is not my favorite design, but he must have found it attractive and that is perfectly fine.
@@michaelbradley6488 ok, looks are subjective. We clearly don’t like the same design, and that’s a good thing. But Lowermatic 80?! Come on!…
@@J0hnny8ravo Well visually this watch does not do it for me. I also do not love these movements at all, I don't understand why so many KZreadrs give them such high praise, they have been problematic for me. I just did not want this guy to feel bad about liking the watch, because we all have different taste.
@@michaelbradley6488 I was trying to sound friendly in my original comment. Usually I have a bad mouth but I don’t mean any harm. Someone has to say it: these Lowermatic 80s are just sh!t, I wouldn’t waste a penny on them, rather have a NH3x
@@J0hnny8ravoI have Hamilton Field watches with the ETA in this configuration (Swatch Group) no issues.
Fantastic watch!
Agreed!
Anyone else experience issues with their Powermatic 80 powered watches?
Yes, multiple examples, not my favorite movement.
@@michaelbradley6488 not my favourite also. I’ll stick with sellita or Eta my favourite movement is the Tudor Kanissi

Thanks! ❤
Best video for this technique I've ever seen. Thanks.
Appreciate that
Where do u buy and sell them ?
Should definitely buy the rubber. The rubber and bracelet both suck, better of selling the rubber for like $120 on ebay...basically a rebate. Also rubber sells for way less, got it for 850 new. The whitepearl is good too but idk if its too feminine
I like the Doxa rubber straps but buying after the fact it is way over priced. The white pearl looks really good but I haven’t seen one in person. Thanks for watching
Wow thats amazing video. My father also have citizen NY2300. Good watch
Love citizen it is often over looked mainly because of Seiko. Glad you enjoyed the video
I bought mine 14 years ago and I love it. The bracelet started to wear about 2 years ago so, now I have it on a rubber strap. I'm on only my third battery in 14 years and it really is the star of my collection.
The best part is they have all the looks without the maintenance costs.
you could get the bracelet fixed
@@jadwehbe_ I could but, I actually prefer it on a rubber strap. Never been a huge fan of bracelets and only got three of my watches with them.
If you're into watches like this, you should DEFINITELY check out hruodland pilot turbine
Will do thanks for the lead
Gorgeous piece ive had mine over 3 years now it pops in the sunlight still gaze at it in awe from time to time.
It is truly astonishingly beautiful for sure! Congrats on an awesome piece
I’m American but lived in Saskatchewan & Manitoba from age 5 to 37, now in St Louis. Enjoy your content!
Thanks appreciate that
I've got the blue one. it's a real head tuner.
These watches look great in any colour but my favourite is blue and red
omg, that intro almost blew my ears, is it possible to decrease the volume?
Sorry about that I’ll try correct it in my next video
Vito from the sopranos wore an Oris....
Hmmmm is that a good thing or a bad thing? All kidding aside I am and always will be a fan of Oris.
A fine day date change indeed.
Super crisp!
Nice watch!
It sure is! Thanks for watching and sorry for the very poor intro sound 😝
Is there different shades of the ceramic green bezel? I like this shade of green the ones on their website look darker green
I don’t think so, but they have a choice between ceramic and aluminum insert bezels.
A great watch. I love Oris. I have a similar age Bc3 that I use as my beater watch.
Very cool! You just gotta love ORiS
I have a few old oris watches and they make for great everyday use
They are built to last! I have about 6 Oris watches now and all are fantastic 😊
@@canadianwatchmonkey3992 i agree 100% My oldest is from 1948 and manual wind
Have you watched the video My Doxa collection & why i won't buy another one ?
What is the name of your channel?
I like the side profile a lot, the knurling on the bezel being proud of the rest of the bezel is a nice touch for easy grip. Anything with domed glass always gets me buzzing!... I am genuinely really keen to pick up an orange example of this beaut, for the right price 😎🙌 great video chief as always 🍻
Thanks Ed. It is a great watch but find a good used one as these take a big hit on the secondary market
One of the more complete reviews of this watch that I’ve seen! I agree, it’s a great summer watch. I’ve owned my blue version for about 4 months and love it. I don’t have one of those fancy meters, but I can say that I’ve been wearing this watch continuously for 3 weeks, and it is only off by 4 seconds….not 4 seconds per day, but 4 seconds overall. It has stayed at 4 seconds fast for about a week and a half! Kind of shocked! So, very accurate! I was going to correct you on the “forged ceramic” comment at the beginning, but you corrected it to forged carbon. You did say the strap is rubber…my understanding is that it is silicon. I was disappointed how difficult it was to get the strap on the first time, but after that it was a snap! As far as it being a regatta time, it’s not really functional as a regatta timer. I race sailboats, and it really would not work for this purpose. I knew that when I bought it. I have other digital watches that are regatta timers. Here’s a KZread vid I shot explaining this. Again, great review, and hope Tissot can fix yours. BTW, if you wear yours for a week, how far off is it? kzread.info/dash/bejne/pHaVtLyJaaabnc4.htmlfeature=shared
Thanks for the info about regatta timer, really have no idea about yacht racing other then when the boats start the race you want to be as close to the start line with speed. I just got my watch back from service and nothing has changed, I have sent the watch back. I haven’t worn the watch for more then 2 days but it seemed to keep good time. 😊
About $1500 Cdn before shipping/taxes and duties, which will drive the price to about $1800 and change. So yeah, $1K USD sounds great, but somewhere between $1800 and $2K CDN not such a great deal afterall. I used to own the Professional and Sharkhunter 750T that I purchased for about $1360 CDN, all in. Now that is an excellet price.
I purchased mine locally used for $750 Canadian. With Doxa shipping is included but yes you will be paying duty and taxes.
dude, you didnt have and show the murph. what a clickbait video.
Sorry mate I can’t own every watch I talk about, but I do own most
Thank you so much for this comparison video. I could never convince myself to pull the trigger on an Artem strap because they are so expensive... Now, thanks to your video I discovered that StrapsCo also makes short-length sailcloth straps of similar quality for less than half the price and ordered one immediately!
I am absolutely sure you will love that strap a real bargain in comparison to Artem
Beautiful watch. Thanks for the closer look 👍
Great looking for sure just not a huge fan of salmon dials
It seems that piece is a tapered bracelet away from a perfect watch
Yes a tapered bracelet would do wonders for this watch
I was wondering if you can replace the clasp with a strapcode clasp? It's the only thing that's keeping me from getting it.
I wouldn’t change the clasp, it gives the watch a more true vintage feel, much like the old Rolex clasps. 😊
@@canadianwatchmonkey3992 Thanks for your reply. 😊
I’m sure you can it’s just a matter of making sure the ends of the bracelet are the same width
@@canadianwatchmonkey3992 Yes thank you.
good review thanks
