I believe the controversy started in OM with the straight up going-clubbing heels. There’s no reason to wear those with underwear like the Zero Suit. Even if it’s not realistic to walk around in cowboy boots all day, if the message is that she’s an adventurer I wouldn’t mind. Smash is trying to make femininity the source of her power instead of a liability. My issue there is that they shouldn’t be inventing new ideas in a game about celebrating existing ones.

Fun fact: The Varia suit got it's name from an error in translation. It was supposed to be called the Barrier suit instead, but due to an error in translation from Japanese to English, we ended up with Varia suit.

I would try a more open Metroid. My main complaint with Super Metroid is that it did not feel like I was hunting down Ridley and The Baby. I was simply wandering around until it worked itself out. I would need to hear a proper premise for the game outside of "Open World Metroid," but I do think you could do something cool actually hunting rather than just stumbling into upgrades. Everybody should play Outer Wilds. More intentional than Metroid. More open than Zelda.

I actually just turn off my monitor entirely in order to make the game so dark I literally cant see anything. Only then do I get the Metroid vibes I like.

There's no logical or consistent reason for the X to appear on ZDR. If one of the Chozo who discovered the X got infected/killed/copied and used it to blend in within the ranks UNTIL RAVEN SHOT THEM ALL DEAD IN THE OPEN, THAT SAME X WOULD'VE EMERGED IMMEDIATELY AFTER JUST LIKE THE GAMEPLAY OF FUSION/DREAD. How the fuck did none of Raven's crew notice that one X slipping under the radar when he massacred everybody in the open surface? Hello? This goes against how the X were presented in both Fusion and Dread that when the X copy is killed, the X reemerges in the open. They don't "wait" to strike unless they're mimicking a predator like host that's capable of hunting. Dread brought in X purely as an afterthought because they have no way to get to ZDR from SR388 without being noticed after getting shot dead in front of everyone and they didn't even have any significant presence in the game. You can even avoid getting the plasma beam to skip the X release sequence to which also negatively imply that Samus just doomed yet another planet and even more if one of them escapes which BTW, ZDR is a gas giant planet. How can there be any life support there or possibility of building a compound in a place that's basically a chaotic purple Jupiter?

Superman is an alien super-god and Clark Kent is just some guy... because man-kind is already super. I always read the reveal as a double meaning. She's hard on the outside; soft on the inside. She looks like Barbie because girls can be tough too. If she looked butch, or at least different from the average girl, then it wouldn't really be challenging any prejudices. Remember that six-packs are for body builders and not athletes or soldiers. Even so, there's some pretty obvious weirdness with the way she gets presented in some of these games. She shouldn't be presented as The Ultimate Metroid Warrior if she's also supposed to dread each boss encounter. The story is empowering because she wins uphill battles. The Zero Suit should be underwear and nothing else. She's fighting naked, powerless, and she should probably be embarrassed and ashamed, but she's winning because the thing that's strong about her is her. In short, next time Samus loses her power-ups she should be brought all the way back to rocks and spears on a deserted planet and she also needs to be barefoot or you hate women.

This game was an absolute insult to Metroid, done twice over in a row with three times being done by DCMA the beautifully made AM2R project just to launch this piece of shit spit in the face. No wonder Sakamoto got desperate at appealing to Prime fans by recycling themes into Samus Returns so much after pissing them off so many times in under 5 years. Decanonizing Prime series with his terrible fanfiction and then launch this chibi garbage, inspecting people to just accept it like good little bitches...

And don't tell me "it hid itself to wait for the right moment to strike" since that too makes no sense because A. X aren't as intelligent in that point in time and B. Why the fuck not attack the Chozo on their way back to ZDR which would've been the perfect moment to strike them without the Metroids protecting them and copy the Chozo to hijack their knowledge/ships to spread across the galaxy long before anyone else like Samus + GF discover the X's existence on SR388? This game fumbled hard on their plot and consistency.

Since he’s already earned his freedom now all that’s left is to see what he will do with it. Maybe he’s a genuine danger to others but I think if Samus can have attempts to tamper with her for evil purposes there could be something out there able to tamper with Kanden for good if he really needs it. He retains enough of his mind to function as a bounty hunter so maybe all he needs is the right person or group to take an interest in him and give him some of his peace back. Otherwise it might come to something worse.

To me, the low resolution of the sprite of this suit makes it look like it’s iridescent in some way, or like an infrared heat vision image, which is way cooler in my opinion. So in game, I actually like it. I wonder if this was the intention of the artists.

One of my favorite things about Samus' progressing corruption is that on her ship you could scan yourself, and as her corruption got worse the scan painted a more dire picture of the situation.

Man, I really hope Prime 2 gets a remaster. I have a friend who's also a Metroid fan and has played the full trilogy and he says that Prime 2 is the best out of them. I want to experience it myself but I don't own a GameCube or Wii so I've just been hoping the games get remastered or at least ported.

I hope they do more to explain red phazon in prime 4. All we get in Corruption is aurora unit 313 MAYBE getting its red coloration from underground, and the red phazites and phaazoids with very little backstory

Oh no please do get rid of the white, I hate it so much. Couple with the weird, matte/opaque reflections the Switch lighting is limited to, it makes the Suit looks like a plastic toy. Bring back the original gold. The SR Gravity Suit was GOATED!
