Chevrolet actually built a coupe pickup from 1936 till civilian production ceased in February 1942. These vehicles functioned as both a coupe and light delivery truck. They were introduced so one vehicle could serve both purposes at a time when America was just beginning to recover from the Great Depression. You can search the internet for "1936 Chevrolet Coupe Pickup". You will also find an article in Vintage Truck magazine, August 2024, Vol. 32, No. 3 on pages 22 - 31. Just bought the truck magazine and remembered your video. Remembered that you thought it was someone's attempt to make a home made truck. Well it kind of was but the builder was actually Chevrolet themselves. Enjoyed the video. Glad you actually did get it running. Hope someone actually restores it as the truck it was built to be. 👍

I had a 1983 K5 black in color with a bored BB 396(to a 413) with a huge cam, with 3" lift sitting on 35" Super Swampers. Lived about two miles from Galveston so she was my beach buggy. Top was nearly always off. What a fun ride and fond memories.

I had a ‘81 k10 suburban , it had a goodwrench replacement 350 (290hp)….that thing was a beast and on 33’s it went into places u wouldnt think a big ole suburban should be……ive had several c10/k10/k20’s but man do i miss that specail suburban….i also had a ‘74 ramcharger with a built 360 and that thing was a super beast, it just didnt have reverse so i had to be very strategic when i parked it!!!

You have to push the clutch pedal for it to start also if you put 12 volts to the fuel shut off switch. fuel switch is on the injection pump. The engine will run on it's without any help as long as the fuel switch has power

Definitely not a factory built truck. Crew cabs stopped in 85. Probably either a stretched 91 regular cab or it's a crew that has had a Cummins truck donor used to build it

Find you a 1 ton hood, they’ve got a raised lip on the front that goes all the way across from fender to fender to tell the difference, they’re thicker in the hinge area where they always bend, you’ll not have that problem if you can find one, I put 1 on my 80 K-5 blazer, and lube the hood hinges every now an then ,that lip is like where a bug guard would go across those trucks 👍🏼

Yeah who needs a new truck...if nobody ever buys one the used will run forever. And if you need to pull a 45 ft 5th wheel across country that's fine. As a matter of fact they should stop building new cars altogether and we could cobble together old ones like Cuba.
