We saved for years to buy a home we could sail around the world, and now we are #bloodydoingit
It all started in 2020 when we were cooped up in a small student house in Swansea. We were dreaming of sailing off into the big blue, but with a degree still to finish, on a student budget and only dingy sailing experience, oh and no boat, the idea seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane. However, we worked hard, finished our degrees, worked as many hours as physically possible, saved with all our might, got experience and in March 2022 bought our very own sailboat, a 1987 Colvic Victor ketch. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on.
Welcome aboard,
Becka and Zach

5:32 - you definitely need to replace the footsteps on the mast by these training grips for rock climbers
3:15 - as a marine biologist have you asked Ms. Dekker how dare she bring a fresh water animal into the salty and followed this up with a criminologist assessment?
That was an incredible video, thanks for sharing your journey x
If you caught Lagocephalus sceleratus - Sennin-fugu - then that may have been a "record". The wiki on the fish documents the Straight of Gibraltar as the westernmost record on a page was last edited on 20 June 2024.
Amazing, we sail to Marmaris next week
one of your best yet
no yammy??
I like that you too are sailing together Safety in #s ❤❤
Your nails are painted -
I imagine a future where a 70' clipper evolves into an extraordinary Teulu Tribe cruiser, leaving behind the days of GPS mocking at 6 knots while heading uphill.
With a dinghy like that you could hoist a Jolly Roger and yell: "Prepare to boarded!" then scoot off before anyone could respond
🤠👍
Hi guys, my suggestion with the new motor run some freshwater through it least once a week from Australia
Beckham super angel....lol
Very Cute Dress Becca, just the same ❤😊
Merc for the win!
Trawler...Nordhavn....one of the best
You paint that top to look old so it won’t walk off…..
20 bucks says you upgrade to at least 25 hp in a year……..
You two are such a beautiful couple ❤
I think the engine is way too big for your needs and lifestyle .. you will regret its size and weight .. sorry to be a killjoy but I speak from experience .. apart from that brilliant vid as always !
Time to start towing eachother on the surfboards with that new outboard and dingy setup!
Hi guys, congratulations on the new Dingey and outboard mercury are okay but Yamaha are better anyway that’s your choice you’ll get plenty of use out of it , from Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks! How is Becka doing??
so good to see you with a smile...
Great Vid Guys super scenic .. Love the new boat et al.
The smiles on your faces (PRICELESS)!!!
Thank you for the video. I suggest a cover for your dinghy. I am certain you have consider security for the dinghy. 🎉🎉🎉
I see you getting foils and learning behind you big Bertha!
Mini golden doodles are the very swankiest of pups! Ahhh I'd love one!
Swanky! I love it!
Watching Zack take that new tender for a rip takes me back so many years to when a 9.9 replaced a 4 hp. I think I was 9 or 10 at the time. BTW take care to keep the motor clamp screws well lubricated and operable through the full range of motion. They are notorious for seizing and are very dear.
❤ ⛵ 👏👏👏
@08:52 That looks nice! Have Fun!👴👌🤗 What I don't like is the lack of a good, certified lock. Everybody will like that outboard! Also it's good practice to either paint the cover in a totally other color, or at least put a fitting cloth cover over most of it. Two reasons: A lock slows thiefs down, they don't like that, and will look for a easier target. A dodgy repaint and/or an cloth cover disguises the age, and the exact type. It's a shame, but necessary.👴🤷♂
Becca & Zach, this episode is truly epic. The cinematography, sound and editing is far and above. Your excitement always is brilliant. We love the new Zodiac and that 15HP Mercury is perfect.
I watch many sailing channels and ya'lls is one of my favorites. This episode is really good. Your videography and editing is getting better and better. Keep up the good work. Congrats on the ZODIMERC
You guys have been an inspiration to me and my wife who are now planning on pursuing this life and just told my parents today. Naturally, they think we are pretty crazy being from Nebraska and even asked questions that made me stress a bit as I didnt have an answer to them. Like "what are you going to do after all this". Your intro here helped me ground myself in my decision even more. We will be making a channel soon!
Looks like a wonderful time out there. Keep on loving life 😊
Congrats on the new dinghy. Faster dinghy Time for wake board or other toys 😃
You love not worrying? **cough*engine*cough**
Wow a Mercury 15hp... How did you settle on this one?
You guys just keep crushing it, well done.
Did you run the engine in?
Yes. It requires 10 hours in all different speeds which we have done
Is it more difficult to get the dinghy/motor moved on to the mothership? We love your content! Stay safe out there….
You are going real fast. Might consider a forward grab bar.
What a great episode 👏 👌 so happy for the new dinghy. An love the choice of dramatic music out running the storm. Love you guys. 😍
Hope you had a great birthday in Tamarindo. Just starting, so you might show us lol
Congrats on the dingy and motor. Those sure are some snazzy fenders too. Fair winds you two!
