  I guess it depends on what you do with those feelings. People I don't want to engage with, I don't go to their videos and talk about how I don't like them. The more you engage with content about creators you don't like, the more you're going to get that content promoted to you.

  They don’t hate Dylan because SHE (don’t misgender please) is transgender. They hate the song, not Dylan. The song is respectfully horrible and extremely sexist for cis-women and all women in general. The lyrics don’t make sense “cash or credit I say yes”, and many other randomly put together phrases. People like to assume that if you dislike a song then you’re honpphobic, racist or transphobic, but that’s not the case😭 the song sucks in my opinion but society today is extremely sensitive and I think y’all need an internet break. That being said. For people who actually are homophobic and transphobic Get better. Everyone is made to be who they are and who are you to stop them.

  But sometimes it IS that simple, sometimes people ARE just transphobic, and it's important to call that out because our trans community deserves so much better. I've seen maybe 2 people who dislike the song respond appropriately; the other 99% attack Dylan as a person, hate on the song because they say it's "sexist and speaks for all women" while, in the same breath, those very same people are inciting sexism and claiming to speak for all women! Sure, you can dislike the song, I really don't care. But if you're only calling for better when it comes to this particular song, and you aren't speaking out against other songs you think are sexist, then it IS just transphobia.

  I’m not transphobic, i completely support someone transitioning. But if a cis person wrote this song i would be just as disappointed and disgusted. She isn’t saying it’s HER experience she’s saying it’s the experience. It is diminishing women because it is further perpetuating the stereotypes that feminists have worked so hard to get rid of. Girlhood is NOT being a financially irresponsible slut who can’t handle her emotions. I hate songs that do the same thing no matter WHO it’s written by. This one just had a TON. Uh i’m not saying Dylan’s a slut i’m saying that’s what she was saying. And also the trans experience and the cis experience is very different because some grew up with the constant sexism and the others…didn’t. So it’s impossible to understand right when you’ve transitioned and that’s ok. Just have to keep that in mind. And the patriarchy isn’t over. Far from it.

  Even though you backtracked and said "I'm not calling her a slut!" you... absolutely did call Dylan a slut: "girlhood is not being a financially irresponsible slut" <--- You said that. Girlhood is anything any woman wants it to be. It's not up to you - or anyone else - to decide whether that fits with what you want the universal experience to be, because there ISN'T a universal experience, that isn't something that exists- other than the universal experience of women's self expression being dumped on by anyone who thinks they know better.

  It's literally called "Days of Girlhood" - the title of her series about being a girl, the thing she grew her fame from. It doesn't get any more obvious than that. Saying "of course she wouldn't know better" is such a harmful thing to say about a trans woman, the implications there just aren't ok. Don't like the song, like the song: I don't care. But if you're dishing out your opinion on this specific song I really hope you're doing the same on every song exactly like this by cis women, otherwise it is - as I said - just transphobia.

  It doesn’t matter if you are on the left or right axis of politics, nobody should parody or desecrate a national symbol. To do this makes you not better than the people who put a cross on the American canton, who advocate for your removal. Instead of parodying this country, actually pledge loyalty, and show that you are more patriotic than they are, so that they can’t wrap themselves in the American flag.

  Honestly, as a woman, I support Dylan. I love trans people. I don’t think the song is stereotyping women at all. This song isn’t my favorite, but I’m not going to use that as an excuse to be transphobic because transphobia is just wrong. And the fact that I don’t like the song isn’t because I think it’s stereotyping women or because the creator is trans, it’s just not my style of music that I like.   @itxchi_edits Yes, they did! And so did you if this is your response. Listen to what I'm saying: the hate for this song is inherently rooted in transphobia. It's fine to say "you can just hate a song and it doesn't go deeper than that" but that isn't true when you see the vitriol a trans woman gets compared to the hundreds of cis women who have sung songs just like this - those creators aren't personally attacked, those creators aren't misgendered intentionally, those creators aren't made fun of. Their songs become the song of the summer, tiktok trends, and not a single person debates their ability to experience womanhood. When every one of those points is true for the dislike of this song, then you can leave comments like this and I'll believe you.

Wanna know something really cool and funny. I interviewed people who hate the song at 87 percent of them didn’t know who the creator even was. They just disliked the song. Not everything today is transphobic and racist and y’all need to learn that opinions don’t always mean someone is wrong. I didn’t know Dylan was transgender and frankly couldn’t care less. Good on HER to find out who she is, the song though, is trash IN MY OPINION! Seems like we can’t have those these days. By the way, you can’t attack an entire group of people for an opinion.
