I just would like all the people who are writing that they are so saddened, moved to tears,, about what this man did for them in their lives, can't you realize you have the same reaction religious people feel about the Pope, etc. Atheism is a belief. I do not care what anyone else writes. Atheists beleive there is no greater more intelligent being that made us. And that makes you feel good, realizing there is no God, in your thoughts having No God makes you feel better. Then you turn around and insult people who believe inGod. THAT IS WHAT HITCHENS DOES. It is nuts. Atheism and religion are both beliefs. Atheism like this guy Hitchens acts as if he is being intelligent. All he is doing is bringing up points that support the fact there is no God. Big deal. The preacher brings up facts that there is a God. How people who believe are helped by God. You try to say the are wrong, when your view IMO is more insane. No outside intelligence, God. We gt here from a moon rock, I guess. LAws did it all on their own. The mighty moonrock plunged into teh ocean bringing about the first living cell. Just did. See? No outside intelligence God needed.

HELP NEEDED! Please 😅 I love Carl Sagan and this video basically sums up my whole view on life.. don't want to sound egoistic, Sagan perfectly puts into words what all of us here think. But what I need help with is I'm trying to find one talk / speech, and I am having difficulties with it. I am 89% sure it is from Alan Watts, and 10% it is Carl Sagan 😅.. I think he talks about universe or religion or life, and the part I remember is goes something like this: "once he (man) realizes it, he laughs frantically". (it meaning probably how insignificant we are or how everything is an illusion). Does anyone perhaps know what video this was? :)

I respect Russell, but these types of arguments bore me. I am an atheist, but not because I have any problems with the character of Christ. I don't believe in Santa Claus. It's not because I think Santa is not actually as good, as kind, or as jolly as advertised. Arguments against the character of Santa would be laughable. Such arguments would be beside the point. I don't believe in Santa because belief in Santa would be unreasonable. It would require a mountain of evidence to support such a ridiculous claim, and no such evidence exists. Arguments against the belief in Christ should be treated as every bit as preposterous and every bit as beside the point. Belief should be based on evidence, and the burden of proof resides with those claiming that some supernatural or otherwise far-fetched being, a god or a Santa Claus, in fact exists in our natural world. No evidence exists sufficient to prove Santa real. None exists to prove a god. Arguments concerning the nature or character of Christ give away too much 19:57 19:58 19:59 ground to the theist. It indulges the notion that Christ, or Santa, or Bigfoot, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster, is a reasonable enough contingency to go on to address such issues as Christ's character, or Santa's, or Bigfoot 's, etc.

Ngl I'm seriously disappointed by these quotes. I was thinking that many atheists were decently smart yet they failed to address the other half. Establish your worldview as why the world is the way it is. Russell is only saying it's not God, while not properly stating how morality, Devine design, cosmological, etc. actually work. The term Who created God is nothing more than an infinite regress. We wouldn't get to today due to the infinite number of Gods being created.

Ray distrusts the evolving conclusions of science, but believes in a religion that has changed how it construes the identity of "god" for thousands of years. If he would only study proto-Judean religion, early Christianity and its debates and the 2000-year history of evolving Christian theology and how it depicts God, he might grasp his own hypocrisy.

Christians, and all believers in any God of any religion always judge everyone else by the law, but judge themselves by grace. If they are superior, let them judge themselves by the law, and judge everyone else by grace. Those who believe in any God of any religion are always the biggest hypocrites and low life's in the world. They never preach what they practice.

(⌒‐⌒) It's not moral for God to put evidence of himself in the biology. The atheists were tricked into exploring that and they found no evidence of God in the biology. Now that it's been explored we can do disclosure now. They think everything is worth doing once. This is an exceptional planet that explored everything possible but it gave us problems that most planets don't experience. People are lost in a dead universe and it makes bad outcomes. Disclosure will solve all our problems.

Almost everyone survive until they reproduce. Nothing is getting selected except for the character flaw in evil. I found a replacement for the character flaw in evil that I liked but God makes me forget things that will cause me trouble.

(^-^) Waves are conservation of anarchy. Only a created universe can conserve anarchy. Theory of relator that not made public yet is a theory of anarchy that can change waves so you can make love on the guitar instead of crying. People will feel affection again and become nonviolent and civilized. Child abuse corrupts affection. If theirs an easy remedy for corrupted affection they will stop Child abuse because it will be a risky waste of time. Theory of relator is the last big science idea. Too much science will have us lost forever. We can be endlessly creative with only that.

Argument of design and evolution are entirely compatible. “Just by the natural motion of ordinary things” what sets that natural motion? A big bang? What precludes that and how is it set? “there’s never an appeal to a supernatural realm by people’s whose job it is to explain what happens in the world.” Albert Einstein did not deny a god or creators existence, nor did Carl Sagan. Both are respected scientists. Naturalism denies morality. The reason Slavery, murder, rape, are bad is because we’ve decided so- not because they fundamentally are. If a society determined (as they have) that these things are acceptable, does that mean they are? Can I create a tribe that thrives and acts upon these abject principles and it’s ok, because there’s nothing beyond what we know or could no? Furthermore there’s nothing to suggest that a belief in god or a creator implies supernaturalism or rather something that we grow to know via science.
