    Hey great review! Would you mind trying to do horizontal flies lying on the bench? I am shopping for a functional trainer like this, and just demoed nautilus version of freemotion. When in the down position the arms are too far back to get a mid chest angle (hits lower chest from the downward angle) and if i bring them forward for a perpendicular angle, they are too close for a full stretch. This prime model framed on an angle like a traditional functional trainer may allow for full ROM at a horizontal angle, when arms full lowered?

  • @jaycruz.threefold
    @jaycruz.threefold2 ай бұрын

    Thank you! I’m glad I could help some. I’m not clear on what you’re asking for specifically but I will say I have never had an issue where I couldn’t get the correct positioning. The arms have enough positions to accommodate any exercise and if something seems “not quite right” I just move forward or backward in front of the machine. Edit: to accomplish your ask, I just put the bench upright and move it forward. You could probably do it on any functional trainer. Since it’s on a cable and not free weight the position of our body (vertical or horizontal) doesn’t have an effect on the way our muscles feel the tension. We just need to keep the same base angle in relation to the direction of the tension.

  • @fuhgedabowtit
    @fuhgedabowtit2 ай бұрын

    @jaycruz.threefold appreciate the response! So the short answer is no? Can't do a horizontal cable bench fly? Makes a big difference to me I use an ability mat to arch like the arsenal bench and get way better pec stretch than I ever have sitting or standing. I have a 122" cable crossover now that I use, was hoping the prime would replace it, but it wouldn't completely I guess.

    Why did you not consider the weight stack version? Was it because of the weight limit that you can put on the machine? Usually the weight stack ones are more stable than the plate loaded version of most machines on the market i believe?

  • @jaycruz.threefold
    @jaycruz.threefold3 ай бұрын

    I did consider it but I had so many of the silver Rogue plates it didn’t make sense to pay the extra for the selectorized version. For multiple clients the selectorized is probably better. Once you use the machine a few times it levels off just fine. Also, the weight limit on the stack was a consideration. Most people won’t max it out though

    Not all racks are spaced the same because some measure their distance in inches and other measure their distance in mm. The mm are rounded to 25.4 per inch so there is a small offset between foreign made racks and USA made racks. Bells of steels upcoming 3x3 1 inch hole rack is supposed to be measured in inches, so it should theoretically be one of the first foreign made racks with the same hole spacing as USA made racks.
