Great demonstration! I ended up getting the 258. It's a bigger bag than I need as my daily office bag. But I really wanted the exterior pockets that the 258 has. I travel every other month, 2 weeks at a time. It makes it easier to pull things in and out quickly instead of opening the top flap.

Any gold watch is short sleeve unless you got warren buffet money or simply don’t give af I wear mine short sleeve or dress shirt with sleeves rolled up all that jacket long sleeve wear I stick to cheap/classy looks wise quartz movement that I don’t care if I gotta replace there ya go

The disappointing thing about the 256 is they do not include a leather clasp to connect the 2 handles like they do on the 257.

A have a 2016 and just ordered one but when I go back and really test the original gear shift movement, I noticed it doesn't feel that bad. Do you feel a noticeable difference?

@@ThehomelanderDXB It makes a big difference the throw is much shorter making it feel more car like. however to shift takes a little more effort but you soon get used to it. I havn't regretted doing it although it is rather expensive...

Both are made of the same material. Rugged twill is not waxed but treated for water repellency according to Filson

Both are waxed but over time the older one aged and the wax wore off. Hence, the material is pliable and less rigid, and has a lighter appearance. This is the point where many have come to truly enjoy the original briefcase...

Horses for courses. 256 is slimmer and more comfy to lug around. 257 only if u need the extra space to carry 2 laptops, Chang of clothes or books etc.
