Great demonstration! I ended up getting the 258. It's a bigger bag than I need as my daily office bag. But I really wanted the exterior pockets that the 258 has. I travel every other month, 2 weeks at a time. It makes it easier to pull things in and out quickly instead of opening the top flap.

Was curious how these two stacked up. Thanks for the comparison!!

Horses for courses. 256 is slimmer and more comfy to lug around. 257 only if u need the extra space to carry 2 laptops, Chang of clothes or books etc.

The disappointing thing about the 256 is they do not include a leather clasp to connect the 2 handles like they do on the 257.

I love my black 257 (256 was too small for me) and I am always hunting for a deal on a 24 or 48 hour bag. Nice reviews.

Nice bags. I’m looking to get the 257. Can you make a video on what you carry day to day.

Hi bro! Some I import in via Filson USA online . Some bought in Pronto store in Bangkok.

Both are made of the same material. Rugged twill is not waxed but treated for water repellency according to Filson

Both are waxed but over time the older one aged and the wax wore off. Hence, the material is pliable and less rigid, and has a lighter appearance. This is the point where many have come to truly enjoy the original briefcase...
