You sound like you don't like ebikes, so go ahead and pedal if you like. Also, helmets are for dorks. If you chose to ride around looking like that, more power to you, but you'll look like a tool. People ride ebikes so they don't have to peddle for reasons like: Asthma, heart issues, bad joints, old age, obesity etc., and some are just lazy. Others don't have a license. Ebikes are no different than riding regular bikes; going 20mph on throttle alone (Thats the law) which is how I ride is in no way more dangerous than a fit person going the same speed, especially with hydraulic brakes. What is the point of this video, to get clicks?

Quick tip. Bikes for women are also great for men, much easier to step on. Just use a seat for males.

According to their web site, this Trike is neither the recumbent model nor is it 750 watt like what hes saying. The trike shown in this video is a mobility Trike 500 watt. He did say they haven't named it yet but listed on the website. maybe this video was posted before the final production model was on their website and never took it down. Either way, I haven't seen a Trike offered quite like this one anywhere. seems like a good fit for many people and my guess will be very popular.

Suppose you have a 500W hub motor producing 55Nm of torque, and 20-inch tires on a 65 lbs bike. If my math (including unit conversions) is right, the motor is producing about 50 lbs of force out near the edge of the wheel along the road. On level ground, for all practical purposes it doesn't matter -- except if someone weighs half as much as you, the bike will accelerate twice as much. On a hill, the motor is still "pushing" with 50 lbs of force right up the hill, but some portion of your weight (and the bike's weight and any cargo weight) is pulling back down the hill. On the flats, that's none --0%; straight up is 100%. There's a break-even angle where the total weight balances the 50 lbs of force trying to climb where you will at best maintain speed. That's the inverse-sine of this fraction: 50 lbs from the motor / (your weight in lbs + 65 lbs for the bike). If you weigh 235 lbs, that's inverse-sine of 50/300, or ~9.5 degrees ascent, or ~17% grade (inverse-tan 50/300). Any more than that and you steadily slow down. In fact the numbers are a little less as the motor is fighting friction. Of course, all of that is *without* pedaling. Your pedaling contributes to the motor's force; how much depends on the gearing and your ability to push. All estimates, YMMV, pun intended 😛

A few pro tips Most e-bikes under 1k aren't even worth looking at their trash bikes, maybe if you get it on a slick deal, still be diligent. A lot of these sellers use deceptive marketing strategies to over sell you on the features of the bike like it's range. If the specs tell you that the bike your considering can go 50 miles on a single charge, in reality the range is usually about half that at best. They usually get their estimations on range by favoring the best weather conditions, the best terrain conditions and that your also on the lowest level of peddle assist.

Marine heat shrink (the kind with the hot glue inside) is great for waterproofing connectors. +1 for the dielectric grease, self vulcanising and liquid tape. I use liquid tape to protect connectors and screw holes on everything. Still looking an actually weathproof display though, you would think that display manufacturers would go for IP68 certified protection, but apparently few do :(

I am 250lb and I have a 318 watt ebike. I use the lowest power assist most all the time. I also have 3 fairly large hills before I get home. Just before the hill, I go to the highest power assist and pedal as fast as I can. While going up the hill, I down shift. Usually, I don't go below 3rd gear before I crest the hill. Still, this bike is powerful enough for what I need. Thanks for the video.

I'm looking at a 1000W town bike, so I can make my 4 mile trips to store groceries and misc things, Rather than[n drive a car. I want 48V to start yet want to upgrade the controller and get a bigger Watt motor and maybe 52 or 60V battery upgrade. And perhaps carbon fiber frame, if available.
