@@jacobkeefe8508 thanks Jacob !
Fantastic little excursion buddy. Lots of action and they are going to be great eating.Perfect for the smoker. Great video brother. Take Care.
@@DarrellWellsDifferentStuff thanks for watching Darrell !
Great mackerel session Brayden, really enjoyed this one dude! Our limit is the same with 20 with pretty much the same minimum measurement of 10.6 inches. Thanks for taking us on an adventure!
@@AmbitiousAngler 20 fish a day is more than enough for a person in my opinion, I think it’s a great limit. These fish will be smoked very soon … thanks for watching !
Holy Maceral ! Brayden no fun when you have your limit in 10 casts lol, Some good fishing buddy smoked mac coming up !
@@littlegriffoffgridalberta6837 you got that right , smoked Mack is top notch !! Thanks for watching !

Plenty of mackerel there. You had great fun. Thanks for sharing.
@@user-qr4xg3dy3i was a great outing for sure! Thanks for watching !!
Did you start out using Rubber hooks? 😂
@@alanbierhoff6831 first half of the video I don’t think I had a hook on my lure !🤣
Great trip , smart move to get ahead of the darkness in that area lots of moose for sure. Been a while since I've been mackerel catching but I like to bleed them fast too and get them on ice definitely help keep them fresh longer. Have a great week my buddy.
@@tuckerandi if you’re out this way at all the remainder of our summer , I’ll take ya out ! I’ve got more secluded spots that are beautiful !! Thanks for watching !

Do you guide???
@@Steadyoutdoors I can guide residents of NL ! No out of provinces , I don’t have a guide license sadly. Working on it !
Wow! Awesome video, love it.
Thank you ! Glad you enjoyed !!
Hey great videos was wondering if you could help me with something. I'm from Corner Brook and wanted to take the missus to see the salmon jumping at big falls. We don't fish so don't know when would be the best time to go?
@@UndeadSpaceMonkey1 best time would be Canada Day weekend ! There’s little to no fish this year , however if you go , you will see fish. There’s always some !
@@Braydencoish ok thank you. noted for next year. Ill still go for a look though
I'd be thrilled to catch a single 2lb landlock, let alone enough of them to have that kind of standard for keepers! I've got a lot of learning and exploring to do before I get there
@@Ugrasrava keep at it , you’ll get it down to a science eventually, trust me! Thank you for watching !
what spinner do you use here
It’s an “ MFS Brand Spinner “ generic colour green ! Great spinner
Dandy outing buddy. Lots of fun there for sure.
Sure is Darrell ! Great little creek
Cool vid and some nice scenery! Brings back some sweet memories for sure! I spent hours and hours at that stuff and remember some nice places to fish but as you age exploring becomes too hard to get at anymore. Always have the memories though hopefully, unless Mr Alzheimer catches up!!
Thanks for watching ! Sure does bring back a lot of Memories 😆
you need to do more ptarmigan hunting
@@ilikeike303-kd9sq I will!
Great times for sure!
@@codraven57 thank you !
Good video !!! Should think about pinching the barb for those small brookies.
@@toddbyrne-uv9bz it’s a habit with fly fishing. Not so much spin fishing lol. Thanks for watching !
I live in Halifax but my whole moms side of the family is in cornerbrook, came across your videos and have been hooked on em. Love the content👍🏻
@@novanewf91 I’m really glad you enjoy , happy I bring you entertainment ! Thanks for watching !
Great video reminded me of the first time I skipped school and went fishing the only thing that kept me from getting a good licking was the trout I brought home many many years ago thanks for sharing
@@ronbudgell2441 been there done that as well 🤣🤣! Thanks for watching , glad you enjoyed !!
Back when I was younger, I loved fishing those small brooks. They were a great bit of fun. Great video. Brings back good memories.

Good video bud. Great scenery for sure. Take care.
@@user-qr4xg3dy3i thank you ! Thanks for watching !
I've been fishing a 3wt here on the Avalon for over a decade. I've yet to have a problem landing fish quickly or releasing them safely. If i fished bigger water I'd go to 5/6wt.
I think the 5 weight is going to be one of my go to rods for salmon , unless I plan on targeting larger fish ( 10+ lbs ). It’s sure a fine difference between the classic 8 weight , yet still about the same fight duration , even when horsing them in.
@Braydencoish I should add that with the lighter weight gear you want a rod with a stiff butt section. A noodle won't work IMO. Maintaining a low rod angle is also important.
@durritidumange I agree. I opted for an 8’6. You still need the backbone for sure ! I agree.
I used a 6wt on the Torrent in 2022 and it was awesome. BTW, I just started following you and saw you were at my stomping grounds at Black Brook in 2022. Sure enough it was me and my fishing partner down stream from you folks. I had the salmon on. Very cool to see that.
@@FlyFudgeoutdoors wow that’s awesome ! Hopefully we run into eachother again ! Thanks for watching !
Great day out buddy. Lots of action on the 5 wt. Take care buddy. Tight Lines.
@@DarrellWellsDifferentStuff thanks for watching Darrell !

I know we have some vicious winds here in NL, but 5km per second has gotta be a record! 😅
@@RemedyElixir 5km per second ? 5 km SOUTH wind it said 🤣
You can’t beat a 5wt rod and 5wt line for action 👍 I have a 4 piece with the 5-6 wt really nice feeling handling trout or salmon
@@edwinlegrow4401 it’s a great medium between power , & fun ! Plenty strong enough to get em in , but you feel it all ! Thanks for watching !
A lot of fun buddy ! I have never really done any fly fishing not many steam like that close to me , So it's just a little rod & lake tout or big Pike :) Had a little incident so slowed my building progress & can't hold a rod for a few weeks now but hope to get back out soon :)
@@littlegriffoffgridalberta6837 thanks for watching , & best of luck when you get back out !

Awesome videos you make, really enjoy it! I’m from Quebec and I planning a trip in August in NL and I was wondering what is your go to flies, size and Colors to bring in the field? And best place to buy? Fly tyers or shops Thanks to sharing and tight line 🤙
