Fishing for Giant Brook Trout in Newfoundland - Truly Giant , Newfoundland Brook Trout !

Fishing for giant Brook trout in Newfoundland !
It was the last day of our winter angling season, and me and a couple buddies decided to head out and test our knowledge in tough conditions to catch some true giants of Newfoundland, the Newfoundland Brook Trout !
This Ended up to be one of my best trips fishing for Brook trout that I can remember .
We caught fish ( estimated ) ranging in weight all the way from 1 1/2 - over 3 lbs … we’ll never truly know the weight , as we didn’t weigh them , we wanted to keep them healthy & stress free in the net !
It was certainly a day to remember, as we caught some true giant Newfoundland Brook Trout !
Brad is starting a KZread channel ‪@BeyondTheAlders‬ !! Sub to him to help him get started !!
Edit : yes I know I said all of them were males , there was 2 females I noticed during editing … it’s easy to mistake a female for a male when your excited & only take a quick glance at the jaw lol ! All good 👊

Fishing, catch and release, fishing, catch and release. If one day you get hungry, will it turn into "fish, cook"? Haha. Nice video, love watching you share outdoor life!

I keep most of my fish in the summer time , I’m still runnin on last years supply , I couldn’t help but feel greedy if I kept what I didn’t need ! But yes , catch n cooks are gonna be a hot topic when it re opens !! As for the gear , still doin me solid , very solid , very impressed. I’m certainly going to have good things to say this fall

Great video but a little long keeping the fish out of water. A good rule of thumb is to keep the fish out of water for as long as you could hold your breath. Good job guys

Trust me , we take care of our fish, plenty of spunk in them … I can hold my breath plenty longer than that lol ! What I don’t show on camera is the minutes they lay in the net letting them gain energy before the camerawork. That’s why we use a net , to keep them healthy Thanks for watching !
