Mid week when it’s time to moisturize my twist I do not use water… I just go in with my water base moisturizer (Oyin hair dew) and oil(qhemet biologics castor moringa softening serum, the heavy cream and the pomade and seal with homemade flaxseed gel(icing on the cake for me). Keeps them intact and high porosity hair moisturizer for days and no frizz. and can go 2 weeks without washing, opposed to weekly wash day.

So good to find someone with high porosity type 4 hair. Thanks for the tips. I made the mistake of not undoing my medium twist before washing my hair. And it took forever to finger de tangle once I rinsed out the conditioner and proceeded to undo to apply leave in conditioner. That was a mistake.

I'm using it for a while. My hair loves it. Leaving my hair soft and easily detangle. It's easily spread in your hair. Just finger comb when applying it through your damp hair. Smell is mild, nothing to worry about.

If you grew up in Zambia in the 80s, you definitely have lots of experience with glycerine. We applied it on our skin and minutes later there would be 'beads of water' forming. This shows you that glycerine is pulling water molecules to the area where glycerine was applied. We just didn't know the science and fancy term back then. Our grandmas added it to their top society body lotion. I can go on and on but just do your hair a gigantic favour and buy yourself some good quality glycerine.

I came upon this looking for protein free hair products.. I understand what you're saying but for people who are truly sensitive this isn't going to do. Something you didn't address is protein build up. These products would probably be ok if this was the only protein they're getting.. But if it's this actual protein, plus the little bit of proteins in every product you use.. It adds up. So what's your recommendation for actually protein free products for hair?

Last year, I used a shampoo that was not right for my hair, it became super tangled. At the time my hair was tailbone length. Had my daughter detangle and trim it for me by the time it was done my trim was shoulder length. That was it for me. I started all over again with the right products, finger detangling, brushing only on wash day, with the Unbrush, put it in big twists and put it up until next wash day. No combs at all. One year later, my hair is between my waist and tailbone, mid way there again.

I started out twisting my hair and washing once a month, now I leave out the leave-in- conditioner cause of the buildup it causes, I braid my hair in single braids and wash every two months, in the morning I use a mixture of essential oils glycerin and water, sometimes I replace the glycerin with the aloe vera then I use oil to seal in the moisture, that's it for me, I brush my hair every morning I don't use a normal brush it's like a soft shoe brush(it doesn't go through my hair) I do it more to stimulate my follicles and massage my hair, my hair loves it, I can see results I am enjoying this journey of growing my hair along with you.

I came up using Suave shampoo & rinse out conditioner, and hair grease, and when I started doing my hair as a teenager, I incorporated Vaseline. And we didn't slather our hair with any products. My mom didn't know how to cornrow or put twists in my hair. She regularly did big braids, ponytails, ballerina buns, and wet sets once in a while. And the hair was never done tightly, and always had a lot of long hair. And when she did a wet set, she didn't use grease, she only used dippity do hair gel. I wouldn't use it now though, because it has dye and some other things in it. Simplicity and consistency. Thanks for sharing. Peace and blessings

I have medium to high density hair, and one thing people often forget is that dense hair is not just dense on your head. It's also dense on your arms, legs, face, etc. I love my hair now, but a dense head of hair for me came at a huge cost. I know that's not true for everyone with high density, but it is for me. Managing body hair can be extremely tedious, but I've learned how to manage it over the years, so now I'm happy with my hair density.

Don't use heat girl! You've learned n Ed already that it sets your hair back. Once you've learned what your hair likes and doesn't stick with. Try using super large rollers to set your natural hair texture without all that heat. It will allow your natural hair to set in a stretched state and produce beautiful luscious curls without damage. They may not be the most comfortable to sleep in though, overnight. But sitting under a hooded drier and a lower heat setting or warm/cool to help speed up the process, could be an option while using indirect heat from the hooded dryer versus direct high heat from the hand held dryer. See if u can Google other hair influencers videos, if need be, on how to use this technique and how to vary the different sizes of the rollers in your hair depending on how big or small or tight or loose you want the curls to turn out in your hair. It's kinda trending again here in the US. Good luck!

Since the guest loves she should look up Edo - that used to be the name of Tokyo; which is also the name of a Nigerian people group. Some of the Edo words and Japanese words are similar or the same. The Edo of Nigeria were the inhabitants of what we call Tokyo, Japan today. There was an Edo period of Japan that's documented.

I had problems when I was younger and I had a weave or two long braids put in, girls tried to fight me. My freshman year in college was ridiculous< I couldn't believe young women at that age were so jealous and nasty. They did encourage the Back young men on campus to behave badly. several walked through my dorm and tried to break into my room. I was taking a nap.I didn't even know the young men. my locks had to be replaced. I caught the young ladies one by one and that solved the issues with them. I transferred and never looked back. I think its sad that people behaved this way. But, God covers you so you just keep looking forward. Now, I wear my own hair and I still have women asking me if Im wearing a wear. Some women!

Between washed I will sprts my hair with my own leave in conditioner water leave in mixed together with green tea and then seal with my shea butter mix ( shea, olive oil and castor oil) This is my last resort I'm so tired of the breakage and not being able to retain length, all my hair growth goes in the bin . 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have never seen a small and thin boar bristle brush like this before. One of the reasons I stopped using them is exactly why people use it, it takes up so much dirt that it’s very difficult to clean. Especially with all them bushy and crowded bristles! But with this brush, it looks much less intimidating.
