This is a *terrific* review. I really love the look of the Archer, but that's an expensive knife purchase for me, so I've been on the fence since it came out. So, I *really* appreciate you taking a very critical, but fair and thoughtful, approach to this. The details you point out were things I missed myself, and none of the other reviewers I've seen have mentioned. But, they're details that would have driven me crazy. So, you saved me from making a significant investment I would have regretted. I appreciate other reviewer's optimism and enthusiasm, but having objective, well-considered criticism is really important. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Good review, thanks! My copy doesn't have those mismatched grind lines. However, it does have gritty action, lock-stick, unfinished edges, and it came with a mostly dull blade. To me, it does not feel like a $600 knife. I'm not impressed and I will be sending mine back.

It was very refreshing to see this video verbalize what I was somehow feeling! PS: (To reach that state of mind, it would be logical to buy various expensive high-end knives, but in my case, I don't have any high-end knives, so I am just jealous, lol)

I have this knife and the Chis Reeve large 31. I spent weeks traveling and hunting. I don't aee anything that the 31 can do that the narrows can't. The Chris Reeve was over 600 dollars, so more expensive. Most of the people that are talking about knives don't use them anyway so carry your Milwaukee box cutter. For people that work and play relying on their tools we are willing to spend more for a very very slight increase in performance. Is this knife worth the price? Hell no but that is just the diminishing return on higher teir products that is everywhere. Oh and the Chris Reeve knifea are over priced too but atill very good for doing knife ahit.

Thanks for the comment! I think they are both great knives- the tough thing for me was how similar the narrows was to the bugout.. but the narrows is $300 more.

I have a clone of the same version of stitch in D2, the edge retention is very very very good compare to any custom D2 blade i have, the lock is top notch too, the only downside is i think its too heavy (i dont have authentic stitch to compare to) , all just for USD40. I love it more than many knife in my collection including numbers of authentic Benchmade in various blade steel.

My new version full size BM adamas did that. So annoying, none of the other axis locks I have had did it. I have had them for decades. I had to send it back twice to get it fixed correctly. In the end it was fine. Still, I like the socom elite or scarab 2 tho for edc. Glass breaker is nice and they are solid.

I love the Stitch. Both the auto and the ram-lok versions. I have both the Stitch and MSI. Both have no issues with the spine strike test. I mean I'm knocking chunks of wood from 2x4s and not one failure. I heard Microtech addressed the issue and improved the Ram Lok. My MSI was born 10/23 and the Stitch on 12/23.

I'm going to just throw this out there as a knife dealer for over 40 years and as well as a microtech dealer. I have sold 10s of thousands of knives. NO brand is safe from lock failures like these. Just from Microtech alone I would see failures on arrival of probably 1 out of 20 on average. An interesting observation as well is that I experience more defective knives straight from the manufacturer as the price increases. So I don't think it's odd at all to see any knife from any manufacturer fail, no matter the brand or it's price point. With that said, purely from my sales over the years the only brands I have ever really dealt with that have almost zero defects would be Cold steel and Chris Reeve. And I'm not a cold steel fan boy by any means but if I had to bet my life on one folding knife it would be an SR1.
