I have a 2013. Cruise two up with my wife at 2800, 3000 rpm a lot. Not vibrations or rattle. Just turned over 20k miles. Nice job, looks like a great product , just don’t see the need. Electronic cruise would be a upgrade before this for me. Unless I had vibration ect.

20k miles is to early for this to manifest if it will at all. It's common but not 100%.

I haven't been able to figure out what the springs do. Do you think they might have come completely out and damaged more?

I could swear partzilla shows a dust cover on the left side of the rear axle bolt under the washer, but I don’t have one and neither did you. Seems like a good idea to seal such an exposed opening.

So that seat mod is simply replacing four rubber grommets to shorter? Plus one shorter too for seat locking latch or what is that called in english, anyway where hole was drilled? I just test rode super ten I'm interested and it felt excellent, but I already noticed there that is the seat angled bit too much towards tank. If I buy one I think I'll do this mod immeadiately.

I bought a 2013 s10 last year and I love it. I recently did the clutch basket upgrade and got the ecu flashed by 2wdw and it feels incredible now. I liked it before but now it’s even better in my opinion. Looking forward to all the places I go with my super tenere.

Does your clutch lever built pressure slowly after installation ?..i did mine and at the end I found the clutxh lever had no pressure..i did something wrong?

  • @Freedomachine

Something went wrong during your installation. Did you by any chance loose that bearing ball sitting in the middle? I show it in the video. I recommend you go through it again and make sure you got it right.

Way too much torque on the bolts and the filter. I hope they come back off without stripping it first.

  • @Freedomachine

The belt is slipping because I touched it with oily hands. This is why I pull so hard. Done the change many times since without problems. Other bolts were tightened just fine. Thanks for watching.

@@Freedomachine my point is. It doesn't need to be that tight. Really only hand tight. They're a real problem of they get too tight, they expand and then you have to cut them off or use a punch in which is completely unnecessary. Just watching out for a fellow YAMAHA rider.

This is how every video tutorial should be like ... no life history, no discussion or showing off about what else is in the garage, just a clear, concise and practical explanation of what needs to be done ...

I'm a little bit mechanically minded but definitely not experienced and what was usually simple 5-10+ years ago, the difficulty and fiddliness has increased exponentially in the modern era for whatever reason so I'll admit there was a bit of trepidation and anxiety in kicking off ... but for me this is the ABSOLUTE 'Go-To' video tutorial when you want to have a crack at servicing your Super Tenere yourself (in my case the 2010 model) ... some very minor points as suggested elsewhere on here, I'd lay a protective cloth over the carbie barrels (which he's acknowledged - I apologise but I don't know the lad's name), I'd blow / vacuum out the top of the barrels to remove any loose dirt, I wouldn't tighten the oil drain plugs that 'hard' and I'd put an old rag over the rear rim to soak up the excess / dripping shaft drive oil ... but aside of those minor, minor issues, this video, will definitely save you mega $$$'s and give you a very, very decent amount of self satisfaction.

Great series. Well done you two. Excellent scenery and great bike roads. Really miss my time in Stavanger. It has inspired me to get out and do Norway this spring time/May. Good comments on chain v shaft. In the long run shaft will always have it's drawbacks but aft 146,000 on an R100RS and 80,000 on an R90S I don't think I will ever go back to a chain drive bike again. Well done and thank you for sharing this with us.

I've just bought my second ST1200 the first one was a 2013 std and now I have a 2014 (full digital new dash) but while driving in 6th gear and around 4000rpm i can hear a clunck noise comes from the engine anyway... from your knowledge, there is any chance of this year still have the springs clutch basket or can you indicate any other reason to that noise??? My bike has only 30k kilometers...
