    Do the doors automatically open on the right side or have you ever opened wrong side?

  • @dalecharmantravels8057
    @dalecharmantravels80574 сағат бұрын

    No the doors don’t open automatically. There is a system called CSDE. Correct side door enabler. Which stops the doors opening the wrong side if you make a mistake. However this can be over ridden so you have to be careful. No I haven’t opened them the wrong side

    Hi Dale, Love the videos. As the new 2024 stock trains coming to the Picadilly lines, Have you start having any training for the new sets of trains? If so what do you think of them so far?

    The new trains have not arrived yet. Some time this summer one will arrive for testing. Training has not started yet. I would guess around the end of this year or early next year

    Before moving to Florida in 2017, I used to be a public transport bus driver in Toronto. Towards the end of my career, I drove Alexander Dennis double decker buses on the 12-Niagara Falls. One of my colleagues, who was from England and said he had to move to Canada to drive a double decker, regaled me with the story of the two Newfies (Paul and Sean) who went to London for their vacation. They were riding on a double decker bus, sitting on the lower deck right across from the stairway. They were watching people go up and down the stairs as the bus travelled its route. Paul said to Sean, "Sean, where does that stairway go?" Sean said, "I have no idea. I'm going to go upstairs and find out." So Sean goes upstairs, disappearing from Paul's view for a moment or two. He comes back down and his face is pure white, his jaw down, his mouth agape. Paul says to Sean, "Sean? What's the matter? You look like you've seen a ghost!" Finally Sean composes himself and sits back down next to Paul. He says, "Paul, I went up there. You're not gonna believe it. There's another bus." Paul says, "Another bus? You're kidding." Sean says, "No, Paul. And it's worse. There's no driver."

  • @dalecharmantravels8057

    at 0:45 on the video departing northfields,why did you put the tbc back to off and release then back to parallel?

  • @dalecharmantravels8057
    @dalecharmantravels8057Күн бұрын

    I can’t recall the reason. I just watched the video for a clue. I can only guess I lost door closed visuals as we departed. This happens some times. So if you go in to off and release usually the door closed visuals come back so you can continue. The reason for loosing them could be a passenger leaning or messing with the doors or an issue with a motor causing it to drop out. When this happens it takes the door closed visuals with it cutting power to all motors.

    Hello, could you explain why the third rail is broken in to segments please? The same seems to happen on the power pick up line on the left or right hand side of the track. Thank you.

  • @dalecharmantravels8057
    @dalecharmantravels8057Күн бұрын

    There are lots of reason. So around points you will see lots of little sections of power rails. This is to allow the points to move freely. Also I am guessing the rails come in a standard length hence why you will see gaps regularly. The biggest reason for gaps (large gaps) is for the different power sections. So that can turn off just a small section rather than the whole line.

    Hello Dale, really like your videos. I have two questions to ask, actually from another video, and l apologise if these questions have been asked before. 1. Upon leaving Acton l believe, you point out the District connection to Ealing Broadway and mention the possibility of diverting there in an emergency. Is Ealing Broadway part of a Picc Line driver's route knowledge? 2. Whilst driving to Rayners Lane you passed into Metropolitan Control. I thought l saw a repeater signal illuminate only once the main signal cleared. Did l imagine this? Wish l had commented when l saw the videos, but sadly l was unable to do so. Cheers, Tom

  • @dalecharmantravels8057
    @dalecharmantravels80572 күн бұрын

    Hello Tom. For the first question is no we don’t learn that route to Ealing Broadway. For the second question I would have to check the video but I can only assume it was the respecter for the next signal. So if we sit at a red it won’t show the repeater for the signal behind until that signal is green. I hope that sort of makes sense. I’m not always the best at explaining what I mean
