Thank you. I clogged my sink just now and I only needed to know if it was possible to open the pipe underneath by hand. I tried on my own at first but I never put enough strength in these things so I just needed to double check. Anyway, thank you.

Hi professor, I'm Adrian greeting from Argentina. I have a big doubt with cycle time. If you have an plastic injection machine with 5 cavities and a cycle time of 20 secs and the following process step is flashing, which eliminates excess material from the parts. What time do you asign to each of the parts that come out of the injector ? I see that the 5 parts were produced simultaneously so will you asign 20 secs to each or will you devide 20/5 and say that 4 secs is the answer. Will the flashing part of the process have to wait 20 secs for the first part to arrive or 4 secs? Thank you so much in advance!

I think you made a classic mistake, jumped to a conclusion and did not solve the root cause. My guess is that this have happened again and again after this video. The sink is getting clogged because; Theory 1; The pipe was not cleaned completely last time and residue was left. Why was it clogged the last time? A lot of bigger particles that the pipes could not handle were stuck. Why could the pipe not handle the bigger particles Pipe was to small or there was no filter stopping bigger particles coming in to the pipe. Why is the pipe to small and why is there no filter that stops bigger particles? Because the pipe is made in a standard size to fit. And there is a "filter" but not one made for that type of particles Why is there not a filter made for this type of particle? It did not come originally with the sink Could a solution be having a filter that's stops particles before coming down the pipe? where do the particles that clog the pipe comes from, could there be another method used so it's not getting clogged? Is the family members brushing their hair close to sink,? A solution maybe is that they could close the plug in the sink until they have finished and removed the hair. Or maybe everyone can help removing dirt from the first "filter" that is removable why was residue left? There was no time to clean it 100% and therefore the result was not perfect and it ended up giving you more job another time. Could a solution be to clean the sink with a schedule, maybe one per month or once per year at the same time you for example change batteries is your fire detector. Was it the wrong method of cleaning, is there a better method? Maybe there is other options then chemical to clean a sink or maybe there is other types of chemicals that could help. ... and so on

When you add more steps it jumps from 9 to 11, not from 9 to 10. Otherwise, I like this sheet!! By the way, what is the developer password so I can fix it?

It's surprising if you train employees the right way the first time, they remember it and they stick to it. If your standards and expectations keep changing, your employees will just do what they think is best. SOPs provide both YOU and your staff the discipline to stay consistent with how things are done! When you have your SOP about “How to take orders from customers when the computer is down”, then you do not have to react to that situation and hurry up and instruct all the employees on what they should be doing, you just say, “go read the SOP”.
