damn i wish someone would put out a new analog to wildlands it was so gritty, and no bullet sponge bs, the world was breathtaking and interesting and nuanced and i'm sorry but breakpoint was NOT it, breakpoint didn't do it for me at all it was missing something that wildlands had in spades
I was just thinking that, watching this video. There is some x-factor that Wildlands had, and I think you touched on a bit of it in your comment there. What you said, plus Wildlands had something with recognizable landmarks, defined provinces, and roads that linked it together - I always feel like I know where I'm at in the world. In Breakpoint it's just mountainous jungle or mountainous tundra and every car and every town is hostile. There's a factor there, but it's hard to define.

I just did this before I found your video, but I was trying to lock out a specific room in the Castle, and OH BOY was it a whole thing. The outer walls were too thick for a conduit wall pass through, but the powered door left juuust enough of a gap to sneak a conduit through. So 2 switches, an XOR gate, some conduits, logical thinking, and a BUNCH of wiring later, I managed to do it. I honestly felt so proud of myself for figuring it all out (including having to put the wall pass though conduit on the other side of the door itself, as the castle brick walls were too thick!!)

Those engines are good. The best in game actually. If you multiply their thrusts, (maneuvering and engine) by the amount of the engines you can have? Clayton Aerospace will always have the highest values IF you use the max amount available. Which for most (not all) of the Slayton engines is 6. Those engines at 18,000 engine thrust and 7,800 maneuver thrust are rank 4 with starship design. I believe you can unlock them at level 4 so long as you strictly focus on the starship design skill that is. (Don’t believe that’s possible though because you’d need other skills unlocked and a certain number of perks to go down that far on the skill tree)
So.. just a tip I suppose, but you can 100% use the ship with 0 mobility. I have a ship with 80,000 storage. (I’m a resource hoarder haha) ship has zero mobility. All mobility does is dictate how fast you roll, and turn. That’s it. While you do lose top speed, you have boost. And if the skills that dictate ship stats are maxed out, the storage becomes 100,000 or more, and speed increases due to those skills anyways. There are very very few missions (like maybe 3) that require your ship to actually move fast. So I use the big 1,480 cargo holds and just go nuts with them. Once you have the best ship weapons in the game you don’t need to worry about turnings Just use the thrusters. Learn how they function and your mobility becomes a none issue. I can roll my ship easily and just two shot most enemies, in fact.. I rarely even have any points from the reactor invested into the engines. I just sit still? Eat shots, and then turn and shoot like a turret on a zero G gimbal. Haha. If you’re someone who HAS to have mobility and speed then always build an outpost. With LOADS of storage. This way you can just dump resources there.
actually in a real-world scenario, if you kill a group in a certain area with the passing time probability that other NPCs occupy the same place is kind of real, empty good place and other people will occupy it

It looked really straightforward in the video, but it was really tricky for me to get that second wire onto the switch on the other side. But I finally did it! The only way into The Castle is now with one of these doors - which means I have to temporarily short it whenever I'm expecting new settlers, but it's certainly more secure than it used to be.

Would you be interested in a saved game Tier 1, with no missions, no health, limited skills, only 3 weapons and nothing discovered. Start a new game in Tier 1. It is definitely harder.

Here in 2024 on PC and I’m amazed at how immersive, Huge, And beautiful this game is, This was well ahead of its time, An absolutely amazing game, it’s very hard for me to feel immersed in games but this one makes me almost want to RP and move around slowly as if it was real life military, 10/10
It does still have that feeling. The people I play with say the same thing - there is something about the world of Wildlands.
AK-12 you s the best alrounder in my opinion. The G2 has the best rate of fire amongst the assault rifles.
