Build the Most Compact Sexy Ship in STARFIELD

Ойындар

Here's how to build the smallest, most streamlined, sexy ship in Starfield and still have plenty of cargo storage, shielded cargo, jump range, mobility, weapons, and interior room! This ship, made from Taiyo aerodynamic pieces and Stroud hab modules and cockpit, can turn fast and accelerate like a beast! You wouldn't think to see it from the outside, but inside it has three decks including the cockpit, with room for five crew members.

I forgot to mention the cost in the video, but if I recall correctly, the ship as it is portrayed here cost about 300k credits all in to build out of basically nothing. The weapons could be upgraded, but they work fine for now. Use whatever weapons you want. Thanks!

It’s solid - I like the compact build combined with the high storage and streamlining - I “rug-glitched” some of my weapons into structure, so my variation uses the stroud cosmetics for a similar look, but I might have to rock this on another build.

Useful tip, if you don't know already... Get the max amount of weapons per type (Some weapons even allow you to get 2 different sets with different models). Your weapon power doesn't represent strength of said weapon - it's mainly how fast they reload. So, go ahead and get 4x weapons instead of 2x, etc.. Like the ship! Always loved that little guy in the Taiyo showroom😁 Atm, I have a large mainly Taiyo ship that I love! Cheers!😁

Notes for weapons. PB weapons have no equal. They do the same amount of damage to both shields & hull. This saves you some power requirements as you only need to power up 1 weapon. Also, I see people not putting max power into their weapons a lot. Power determines reload speed, not power, so for the best results it's in your best interest to always have enough power to max your engine, shield & 1 weapon at the same time.

I managed to get the one ladder going from the Slim Docker through both habs up to the bridge of the ship. She is very manoeuvrable, i got swarmed by four Ecliptic Claymores, and managed to outrun, outmanoeuvre them and destroy all four without getting destroyed. Loved the design so much I had to build her, she is going to be my new main ship.

I only stumbled on your videos today, having a look through your builds at the moment. I now have a class B variant of this design, uses a front bay and slim docker so I only have 1 ladder linking the upper and lower habs with a Stroud cockpit on the front. Nova all in one A and workshops give crafting benches, a research bench, galley and bed with 4 passenger capacity for good measure. I did up arm mine slightly (5 particle beam turrets, 4 Vanguard Obliterators) but still retained 2180 cargo and 1035 shield with a mobility of 96. I did try the Deimos Ares bridge but it didn't look right so only 4 crew. Ta very muchly for the inspiration though!

When building small ships that look good (especially the R-Type design of the beginner ship which is still perfect) one runs out of storage space fast on lower levels. Carrying one or two tons of goodies like rare weapons minerals outfits etc is the biggest problem in smaller ships because all the cargo pods only carry 100 or 200 weight, so an excessive amount of these is necessary outside on the hull which makes compact ships literally impossible until now. Your ship here looks absolute beautiful on the outside and on the inside too with the perfect Stroud-Eklund interior. Thank you very much for the detailed blueprints of this masterpiece - and I hope I won´t get limited by my "special cargo and rare item hoarding needs" later on when building it ;D

Just a heads-up, you don't have to use B class engines on a B class ship. You can use A class engines for better mobility and speed (especially with the White Dwarf 3015 engines, since you have Starship Design Level 4). That said, I love the design! I would personally change a couple things on it (switch the location of the reactor and the loading bay, because I like having the entrance in the front of my ships, as well as change the ballistic weapons out for particle beams) but otherwise this is pretty slick.

If you want a little criticism, you should generally max out your weapons as much as the power bar will let you... But only actually power them up about a third, IF that. Furthermore, if you want extra crew space, the computer core is strictly worse than the control station habs. Finally the ballast isn't terribly necessary with those *huge* cargo bays. You have vision here for sure, but as a fellow shipwright who's spent... Way, way too much time in the shipbuilder (240 hours of play, current main ship is a C class that has a cost of about 600k), I just want to ensure you get good advice. I'll happily give more..!

If you clipped a few parts into each other you could probably make it more compact. As long as there is an open snap point when you dupe a ship part it'll auto connect to a near by point. Well if you don't move that part it doesn't update as clipping allowing you to place it and build off it. Only down side is clipping a part into a cockpit or hab will appear in the ship. but this works to overlap parts like storage and say a grave drive, or landing gear and engine.

I really like this game, and am still playing non-stop. I hope Bethesda reads this (I know, super unlikely). The problem for me is not the load screens, per se. They make sense to make a game this big starting 8 years ago. They aren’t even in my top 10 frustrations! What bugs me most is how it “forces” fast travel on you. For instance, I get a great cut scene while taking off in my ship, but I usually can’t watch my ship land - which sucks the RP right out of it; I even have to wear a helmet just in case it spits me out of my ship entirely. If I wanted to look out the windows first, eat or nap, change my clothes or suit based on the biome, then I have to get back into my ship and then go out again. Also I’m outside getting ailments the NPCs are immune to, etc. etc. Like it’s great to provide fast travel options for if you’re in a hurry or want that, but let me RP a little. Let me enjoy the view, the walk, the process… fast travel ruins RP, particularly when it’s missing a major link, like landing in a city or planet. I like spaceships, don’t remove the experience of landing in places! I dislike when my crew keeps talking over the mission seeds and security scan people, too. Most of the spamming activities in cities took me a while to even figure out what triggered them because my companions talk over them, and they talk over each other, too. Like why did I get a Ryujin quest? Vasco was talking and I was busy trying to listen to another NPC conversation over his excessively loud voice repeating that I was overencumbered, again. It was only because I looked around and saw the kiosk that I surmised what has happened. Why did UCSEC want to hire me? Etc, etc. Most I’ve figured out eventually, but again, felt annoyed at missing context and content. I restarted as an introvert loner because this is so annoying! These things are cool, don’t waste that content! The inventory limits on storage stuff discourages RP, it’s like the game is showing me cool miscellaneous items, but punishing me for trying to collect or keep any of it. Let me enjoy the cool things! I like that I can still move relatively fast while overencumbered compared to Skyrim/ Fallout. The city layouts are dumb, I get adding complex roads to make cities seem bigger/ more complex, but the lack of adequate signs is really immersion breaking. Why am I seeing adds for Enhance that don’t mention what district it’s in? Why am I seeing adds for some random engine company, but not for Outland? I like the NAT directories, do more of that!

  • @Darkdally

I'll have to agree with you on those gripes. While I don't mind the 2 second load screens while loading a new area, I do wish it would show a landing cutscene and not force me to "fast travel" directly to the surface. There's a lot I'd like to see fixed, but I look at it this way - I played Fallout 4 for years. Heck, I started this KZread channel for Fallout 4. I can scarcely remember that game before mods - just vanilla. Right now is vanilla Starfield. There will be updates, dlc, and mods. There's things I'd like to see fixed - but until then I'll just enjoy the game as it is, you know.

Unless you are dead set on the aesthetics of the computer room, switch it out for a control station. Can add a 2x1 hab on top of where the landing gear is now. You do not need 4 gear for such a small ship. Could drop the cargo to the bottom layer in place of 1 gear on each side. So you have 4 of the 2x1 habs, and same cargo. Could use the Taio rounded habs on the outer tops to keep the look of the ship as well.

But do remember that you can't have more than 3 crew anyway (4 with Sarah) until you put points into a master-level social skill that has very lackluster lower-tier skills to choose from to get there. There are so many key skills to invest in before sinking all the points necessary for leadership. So for most or all of most people's games, crew slots don't even matter beyond bumping it 1 above the automatic 2 slots -which either computer core or engineering does nicely and immersively.

AND IT HAS 3k CARGO FOR SUCH A SMALL FORM FACTOR. Most of the youtubers I’ve watched built these mid-max sized ships that look really amazing, but cant even surpass 2k lmao.

Keeping cargo reasonable lets you keep mobility high and often move power from engines to weapons. Hoarded loot should be being dumped in an outpost or at the Lodge, anyway. Especially if you're not using the Main Quest-enabled super-engines, you have to tradeoff a lot of capability if you're set on being a mobile packrat.

Does anyone else have a bug where ships are crewless after boarding them? 🤔 It's been like that since the update for me 😭 Its sure easier to steal ships but not as exciting lol

Sometimes you have to back in and reassign crew to the ship. Especially if you’re running a Constellation crew, they will just go back to the lodge.

I wonder how it would look with hope tech habs and cockpit?

  • @Darkdally

I chose the Stroud cockpit for the silhouette. This ship was all about contours. From the side, there's sharp, slightly down curving line from the back of the storage unit to the front of the bridge. It created such a sleek silhouette. That said, Hope habs are often a go-to for me, as I do love the cozy dark interiors and when exposed, the hab modules are more curvy and less ugly. I honestly forgot about the Hope Overseer Bridge though. I went right for this one and forgot about it.

Now that I think about it, the ladder would probably be right in the middle of the bunk area of the all in one hab, so that might not work well

@@joshuaryan7130 Nah, the ladder is in the same place with this cockpit. I just like its shape better this ship. The Stroud bridge has lower, cleaner lines.. but I believe they're the same size.

NPCs will land less hits on a smaller cross-section. With a large ship, if they aim at center and miss, they will still hit the ship typically.

I am like, level 10 just getting into the game. I've partly built an outpost and I've bumped into landed ships and have stolen them. I am yet to put the work and hours into the game but this ship looks sexy and slick. I can't wait to start building my own.
