I have the 26ft and choose it for the pilothouse door. I go fishing by myself and have the fishing pol next to me. Fish strikes, salmon trolling, put the engine on neutral and fight the fish. Apparently, no one at Ranger taut of that.

@ 3:02 Imagine if underway someone is cooking and someone else comes in from outside, stumbles over door threshold. What a wonderful place to put a stove. Do Ranger boats come with top of the line first aid burn kits?.. But you could always put up a sign saying not to use door while cooking

@@thewatchman6074 I just pulled up the specs for the classic R-27 shown here, as well as the new outboard-powered R-27OB. The classic R-27 actually got better fuel economy in testing than Dave stated here: he said 14 to 15 knots at 7GPH, and in the test it was getting 15.5 knots at 3600RPM, and burning 6.3 gallons per hour. The new R-27OB was only getting 10 knots at the closest comparable of 6.6GPH. (The R-27OB was getting an insignificantly better 16 knots at 4000RPM, but burning 11.8 gallons per hour to do it.) Of course that's sort of an apples to oranges comparison, because the R-27 had a top speed of 20.6 knots at WOT (4200RPM/8.7GPH), whereas the R-27OB had a top speed of 37 knots at WOT (5900RPM/26.5GPH). If the classic R-27 was anything like my brother's classic R-29, you wouldn't want to run it at top speed for more than 15 or 20 minutes because it would over heat, but at a fast cruise of 19 knots at 4000RPM it was burning 7.9GPH, which is pretty darned good, and if you slowed down to a displacement speed of 7 knots you'd only burn 1.8GPH and would have a range of over 380 nautical miles (no reserve) on a full tank (100 gallons).

When you add up all the items that Ranger Tugs include as standard, and compare the true price to similar boats from other manufacturers, the $114,937 price (as of June, 2020) is actually quite competitive.

I love these boats and the Ranger Tugs, but especially the Cutwater ..BUT this is just my opinion theres just one thing that I really dislike and that's the Helm seat, the fact the seat is shared space as the Helm and one side of the dining table across from the galley. Now the 24 coupe which I like the most because the arrangement is galley behind helm so you get to sit on a fridge instead of a flip flop seat , which is fine on the other side many companies do that same thing, but the rest of the line no matter how big the helm seat doesn't get a solo assignment. zso that's my gripe, lol and you need to have better pictures for the aft sleep space under the table you never show that. Ok thanks David

@@seikibrian8641 the 29 has an 8 ft beam. This 31 has a 10 ft beam. And while it is trailerable, you will need to familiarize yourself with oversized load laws in whatever state you are trailering in. In some states you may be able to get an "annual permit". In many states you will have to apply for a permit each trip. That is for any load you haul on public roads over 102 inches, or 8'6". If you leave it in the water all season and only trailer it home once and to the marina once, trip permits may not be an issue. It would only be 40 or so bucks a year, depending on the states oversized load fees. But a permit fee every trip would get old. And the fines for not having proper oversized load permits can run into the hundreds, if not thousands of bucks, depending on what state you got ticketed in. While this boat may technically be trailerable, it may not be practical for most people. One last point. In the video, it said the command bridge folded to 14ft. In many states, loads over 13'6" inches may require a flag car with a highpole running in front of the tall load to ensure it doesn't hit a bridge or other overhead obstruction. Other states, your permit will dictate your routing. Get caught off route, more huge fines. Edit: I stand corrected by SuckiBrian. The 29, like his more successful, smarter, and likely more polite brother has has a 10ft beam. I don't see how that negates my points about potential issues with oversized loads. But Brian has to be right. So I now to his expertise. Lol
