    I made a seperate 1-2 gallon chamber with an intake and outtake , that circulates water around the light constantly and it never turns off, off the the side of the main reservoir, what do you think?

    For those who were confused like I was, most sites will tell you that, for example, a good value for EC is 2. Nobody ever points out that the unit in this case is milliSiemens per centimeter. So I was a bit shocked when I put my meter in my kratky container that my tomatoes and eggplants are happily growing in and got a number of around 2200 to 2390. He mentions it in the video, but I'll once again point out that this unit gives its value in microSiemens per centimeter. Translation: divide the number you get by 1,000 to get the number you'll typically see. So in my case, my water was around 2.2 - 2.4, which is right on the border for both tomatoes (almost too high) and eggplants (a tad too low). Translation: if you're doing hydroponics like I am, it's probably best to group things you want to grow by their ph and not mix them all together. I'm glad to finally at least have numbers around what I've been doing.

    It's definitely an interesting approach to using the aerosolizing sprayer head. They are more powerful than the 1/4" plastic ones that are often shown on sites. The cool thing about leveraging air is that all the liquid tubing is at 1-3 psi, and the air-lines are at pressure. Air sure makes a lot less of a mess when it leaks. The other thing from a scale perspective, is you can avoid having multiple pumps if you have multiple nutrient mixtures you are feeding, since the air controls the flow.

    Don't need to have a pump on the nutrient side if you just use an air compressor set at 90 psi (or so) as it will act as a syphon & pull the solution through instead of having it pushed... Thats only if you can stand the sound of an air compressor running where ever the set is 😂🤷🏼‍♂️

    If you get a 30db compressor you wont hear it. The one in the video is probably around 60db, aka, 10x louder than 30db. There`s no need to run 90psi, my siphon fed nozzles run 30psi, my pressure fed nozzles run a max of 43psi air and 30psi water.

    great video, I was you wondering if the meter needs to be calibrated for Ph when purchased, like before you use it or is it calabrated out of the box so calibration is only necessary after +-25 uses as stated in video? thank you.

    Light interference? I don’t think that’s a real thing. For my current understanding one light does not “ push “ other light away. Maybe in perception to our eyes but the energy transmitted onto the surfaces will be the same. Otherwise we could make those light sabers.

    Vegetable glycerin is a bad idea as its highly hygroscopic. It draws water from the air and, unlike most oils, it does mix with water. The output of the compressor may be enough to run a small system, the question is whether it can make it to harvest before the motor burns out or the reed valves develop issues. TIP: attach a tube from the suction port to the oil container and turn the compressor on . The oil will be pulled into the compressor.

    How do you feel about mineral oil?

  • @atomizer2665
    @atomizer26653 ай бұрын

    @@aero-gro A hydraulic mineral oil is the best choice. You can buy FDA approved hydraulic mineral oil, certified for food contact, but its around $1275 for a 48lb drum. I`m working on an alternative method of generating cool, clean compressed air that is a lot cheaper than buying a new fridge compressor. If you invert the compressor you risk filling the cylinder with oil which is not compressible. This is the reason you should let a fridge or freezer sit for a while after moving it to allow the oil to settle. The oil is drawn up the central hollow tube and sprays out everywhere when the compressor is running so there`s no need to invert it.
