    So this will be the third consecutive season in which Justin Herbert has had a significant injury. Luckily, only one of these injuries caused him to miss time, but still, yikes.

    I am very optimistic and I know for a fact that this will be nothing more than a pain management worst case. Herbert is one of the toughest QB's in the league. He played the entire season with cracked ribs and he still threw dimes!! and this pain will not be anything close to that. Actually Gates tore his Plantar Fascia so he had "Plantar Fasciitis" . Herbert just injured it. Herbert was not diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis. Totally different. Herbert can heal with what he is doing and gates just needed to stop playing to heal is what an Orthopedic Doctor told me this past week. I am glad Staley is not there anymore. Harbaugh is doing the right thing letting him rest for the next month and lets face it. Herbert would not be playing in pre-season anyway. Lets GO CHARGERS!!!!

    Thank you Dan for educating the public on the difference between an acute injury vs Plantar Fasciitis. I mentioned it it on one of these pods. I noticed that a lot of pods were calling it Fasciitis, that was incorrect. Non athletes can get Plantar Fasciitis. Totally different from a traumatic, acute injury. Acute = just happened in one event. Where is the pain? Is it on the plantar aspect of the heel, or the metatarsal heads? It could be in the arch of the foot. If he has an acute plantar fascia injury, it depends on the severity and where along the fascia is it injured. Is it injured at one of the attachments points, plantar heel and metatarsal heads, or in the belly (arch) of the "ligament" (not really). Could be a partial tear, full tear (both off these occurring in the belly), avulsion or sprain (injury at the attachment sight), strain (the belly was stressed but did not tear), rupture (the structure stayed intact but a hole was present in the belly). 2 weeks tells me that they caught it early and it is probably a strain/sprain. Most likely not torn in any way. If it were me, I would have casted him for two weeks, then a boot for a week or two, but these are world class athletes.

    I know it's only me but, considering that he was working with 4th string receivers, no running game, a terrible o-line, and below average coaching, Stick didn't do too bad. If he has to play, all four of the negatives I mentioned should be greatly improved. I think Stick will do just fine, if it comes to that.

    In 1992 PreSeason starting QB John Friesz was Nuked -for season(knee). I remember leaving a note for my brothers in mid August "Dear Chargers Fans; Season is Over. Friesz Out for Year". In the 30+ yrs since then there has been very few seasons where the Chargers haven't had a major injury/injuries where you haven't felt their playoff hopes were put in serious jeopardy, before the season even started. And at latest, by End of Week 2...(As long as Easton Stick turns out to be the new Stan Humphries we should be just fine.

    Whose this effeminate Dan guy? 'Bosa looks refreshed/rejuvenated'?! Metro football analysts, lmao. Let me give a real man's analysis...Bosa is ripped compared to last year. He was atrophied and now you can see his guns again. Yes, anyone that's watched his interviews or training camps knew that he's getting after it but he always has. The question is strength and injuries which hopefully Ben's methodology will work out for everyone. Question none of you even think to ask is: Could Ben's intensity have played a part in Justin's planta injury?! Or is this simple flat foot genetics?

    3 years straight that he has an injury. Regardless of how you felt about the injures he has had, they have held him back as taking this team to new heights. We give a lot of excuses for Herbert on why he isn’t performing at his best. When he had the rib injury we kept speculating how bad the injury was affecting him. Then after that season he had surgery on his shoulder???? When did that come about? We still have a 17 game season ahead of us you never know what could also happen in the season. I’m a die hard chargers fan just calling it how it is, I wish it wasn’t the case.

    @@marquisstewart1580I know right having someone SLAM INTO YOUR RIB CAGE and get broken bones because of the pressure around you makes you injury prone. He had ZERO injuries from soft tissue, no hamstrings, pulled muscles not even a growing injury ETC. How about you make your damn QB not be the second most pressured QB in the ENTIRE SPORT four for years if you want him to stay healthy. This is the FIRST time his body just had a problem without being inflicted by a 300 lbs linemen hitting you. Save it 🙄

    How Herbert got the injury has nothing to do with whether he's injury prone or not that doesn't factor into the definition of the term injury prone simply put injury prone if somebody who gets hurt all the time for whatever reason and you have to admit that's been Justin

    Brother he’s gonna be fine. He’s only ever missed a couple games in a season that was already cooked by the time he got hurt he played basically a full season with broken ribs. It’s the nfl players are always dealing with shit. It’s just news cuz he’s QB1. Miss me with that

  • @webers28
    @webers28Күн бұрын

    I have to disagree. The reason you label someone as injury prone is because you believe they have an increased (above average) risk of future injury. Whether or not they've suffored an injury or not. That's why NFL teams do thorough physicals... they can see past injury history easily. It's to protect themself from future injury.

  • @webers28
    @webers28Күн бұрын

    Just to be clear the truth is right there in the term and its definition. Prone - "Likely to or liable to suffor from, do, or experience something..." The definition of prone is in the present, not the past. It is not, "likely to HAVE HAD, or liable to HAVE SUFFORED FROM, DONE or EXPERIENCED..." This is not to say that past injury cannot be a good indicator of future injury, but it's not always. If I sneak up behind you and whack you over the head with a hammer, cracking your skull... that doesn't mean you were PRONE to a skull injury. You took a hammer to the dome, no crap your skull got cracked. Over the following months you'd be prone to several types of injuries now due to that injury. But no one is going to say, "aww sheesh... we should have seen that skull injury coming, you were prone to being attacked by a random stranger with a hammer who hit you over the head with it." The mode of injury matters. Don't be a doink.
