    Do you ever have cheat meals or are you staying totally strict, low fat, clean eating? How do you handle those cravings?

  • @shaneflowers
    @shaneflowers20 күн бұрын

    I have a free meal once per week saved for any social occasion or whatever. Like my son’s birthday BBQ for example. But even then it’s usually clean-ish whole foods, this week was chicken chorizo pasta... I won’t indulge in shit food because it makes me feel shit and doesn’t aid performance. I don’t get cravings. One of the reasons why is because I’m not having them regularly, it’s like your body forgets after a couple weeks of eating clean

    I understand the need to not smash your tendons to bits like you said with using the cuffs, but surely you need to load the tendon to strengthen it and using the cuff means lowering the weight which means youre not strengthening the tendon itself?

  • @shaneflowers
    @shaneflowersАй бұрын

    Using the BFR cuff allows me to get a high training effect on the muscle, without overloading the tendon My muscle is not injured. It’s got full function and is capable of curling 20-30kg. My tendon needs to play catch up. Hope that makes sense mate There’s also other advantages to BFR cuffs beyond allowing to offload the tendon. Improved cardiovascular capacity etc

  • @mattystewart8
    @mattystewart8Ай бұрын

    @@shaneflowersno mate i understand that part completely, for your use here it is great. But in reference to Mitches video where you mention offloading the tendon, in my head i would have thought loading the tendon is the only way to strengthen it, in uninjured candidates obviously, so this thing wouldnt really serve much of a purpose if my thinking is right to anyone other than bodybuilders looking to create more stimulus to the muscle without beating themselves up too much? Or am i way overthinking this? 😂

  • @shaneflowers
    @shaneflowersАй бұрын

    @@mattystewart8 the example of Mitch’s video needs more context, my bad. He was just coming off the back of Arnolds - a very heavy show. He needed a way to train his forearms and grip without smashing his nervous system to bits by using heavy weights to train the grip I think the utilisation of blood flow training is more applicable to strength athletes than some people think. Hypertrophy, offsetting load whilst maintaining a high training effect and adequate stimulus to elicit a response etc

I'm dealing with an unusual issue in my biceps tendon at the elbow joint-no bruising, but there's a persistent dull pain, and it hurts near the lower bicep/forearm area when I flex. Sends electrical pulse to any area I place it on. Currently using it on my injured side - deltoid and tricep to try and mitigate deconditioning and atrophy.
