  It's *truly* amazing how many camera angles we can get in this day and age of baseballs hitting dudes in the balls. Player: _gets smacked in the boys_ Director: _Ok camera 1,2,3,12,45,102, make sure to zoom in on the players' ball sack and camera 18 - make sure you're getting slow motion_

  86 MPH pitch, directly at the batter's head. According to the announcers, you can't be hurt if an 86 mph pitch hits you in the head!

  One hugh thing I am seeing with all baseball teams when a player is hurt or has been hurt no one is running to help their teammate they are not ever reacting all players act like they do not and have never cared about anyone except them selves very very horriffic scary sad and pathetic. !!!!!

  Why doesn't MLB just change the rules and not allow the catcher that close to the batter. Player Safety should be first priority. Have "a line in the sand" x number of inches behind home plate, and the catcher needs to stay behind it till the backswing danger is past.

  It was intentional. He's done that a few times when fast guys are on first, getting them at 2nd and putting slower guys on. It's a smart play actually.

  I've had these happen... I work as a HS umpire... runner on second 2 strikes.. pitch is behind the batter... the runner broke on first move.. catcher moves to catch the ball behind the batter except that it hits the bat... the catcher gloved the foul tip (strike 3.. out), and commences to throw down to third where he nails the runner.... Sometimes you just can't make these plays up...
