Some of the comments below admire his voice and compare him to a castrato. Fortunately, his voice is great but the cruel era of the castrato is over and I trust he is intact. He was a very good musician at his age. I wonder how his voice now fares, and how he fares 16 years after this recording. I hope he does well, because this performance at a moment in time melts one's heart and makes one hope he does very well in life.

Aled Jones, born 1970, remains quite active. (2007 is the date this video was /posted/; it was /recorded/ in the 1980's.) In addition to many other vintage videos and audio recordings of Jones as a boy treble, you can also find here on KZread many, if not most, of his recordings as an adult. A lot is also available on the major streaming platforms, as well as on CD. I especially recommend the duets that were made by synthesizing his adult singing with vintage recordings of his treble voice. There are many similar and even at least nearly identical videos from different uploaders, a number whom have made all kinds of edits and derivative works of their own. While it can be interesting to explore those, for anything that has been officially released, I would prioritize that hosted at known, official channels, such as Classic FM (which seems to host the main duet videos, at least). Perhaps needless to say that the official videos should have the best audio and video quality.

I will do Rutter's Candlelight Carol -- I'm determined to do so. A year to the day I lost my older brother. I pray that I will be able to do so.

Peter Auty, at the age of 13, is the person who sang this song in the original "Walking in the Air" movie. Not this gentleman. Credit should be given to the correct person.

O come, O come, Immanuel / lyrics 1. O come, O come, Immanuel, and ransom captive Israel that mourns in lonely exile here until the Son of God appear. Refrain: Rejoice! Rejoice! Immanuel shall come to you, O Israel. 2. O come, O Wisdom from on high, who ordered all things mightily; to us the path of knowledge show and teach us in its ways to go. 3. O come, O come, great Lord of might, who to your tribes on Sinai's height in ancient times did give the law in cloud and majesty and awe. 4. O come, O Branch of Jesse's stem, unto your own and rescue them! From depths of hell your people save, and give them victory o'er the grave. 5. O come, O Key of David, come and open wide our heavenly home. Make safe for us the heavenward road and bar the way to death's abode. 6. O come, O Bright and Morning Star, and bring us comfort from afar! Dispel the shadows of the night and turn our darkness into light. 7. O come, O King of nations, bind in one the hearts of all mankind. Bid all our sad divisions cease and be yourself our King of Peace.

The movie this song went to, is probably one of the very few good memories I have with staying at my grandma's house (on my dad's side) during Christmas. As a child this movie was one of my top favorites and this song was always perfect for it. Thank you

How do you capture the wind on the water? How do you count all the stars in the sky? How do you measure the love of a mother Or how can you write down a baby's first cry? Candlelight, angel light, firelight and star-glow Shine on His cradle 'til breaking of dawn Gloria Gloria in excelsis Deo Angels are singing; the Christ Child is born Shepherds and wise men will kneel and adore Him Seraphim round Him their vigil will keep Nations proclaim Him their Lord and their Saviour But Mary will hold Him and sing Him to sleep Candlelight, angel light, firelight and star-glow Shine on His cradle 'til breaking of dawn Gloria Gloria in excelsis Deo Angels are singing; the Christ Child is born Find Him at Bethlehem laid in a manger Christ our Redeemer asleep in the hay Godhead incarnate and hope of salvation A Child with His mother that first Christmas Day Candlelight, angel light, firelight and star-glow Shine on His cradle 'til breaking of dawn Gloria Gloria in excelsis Deo Angels are singing; the Christ Child is born
