    Great simple build, i bought the plans and made it about a foot longer and 4" or 5" wider on the full sheets side. I've been using it for about two months now, it feels very sturdy and comfortable to use. Plans are simple and easy to read.

    @@mepro123... On the back of the cart, (straight or non angled side) in the video, you clearly add a fairly wide board across the long side of the cart, almost midway up. This is not shown in the picture of the cart, nor in the cut list? Seems like a piece is missing in the plans? You can see this very near the end of the video. I am getting ready to build this when I noticed.

    one of the problems with this style of lid is that there is not any kind of baffle to keep the dust in the trash can. If the level gets too high, you will be passing all of the chips and dust straight into your DC bag.

  • @mepro123

    Curious if you are plugging this into it's own circuit or is it on a shared circuit. If it's the latter, had you had any issues with overloading the circuit when you start the unit? I'm on the fence between a unit like this or a wall mounted unit like the Rocker or Grizzly, or even the cheapo Wen. I know I can support one of the other units, electrically, but it would be nice to have the 1500 cfm going into a separator rather than 650 cfm, since the separator is going to knock down the airflow anywhere from 40-60%. I just don't know if the 20 amp rating that HF puts on this is a normal startup load of the maximum that you MIGHT experience.

  • @mepro123
    @mepro1233 жыл бұрын

    I’ve got it on a separate circuit. If they’re on the same circuit you’ll probably want to stagger the start up of each motor.

  • @awlthatwoodcrafts8911
    @awlthatwoodcrafts89113 жыл бұрын

    @@mepro123, in my situation, it’s only the garage door opener and a security camera that are currently on the circuit I would use. There are 3-4 other outlets but there’s nothing plugged in to them. My tools would be on their own circuit.

  • @awlthatwoodcrafts8911
    @awlthatwoodcrafts89113 жыл бұрын

    Any problems so far? I'm looking at getting one of these as well. The only design flaw I can see is the outlet, that goes to the vacuum, is not in the center of the lid. It's positioned pretty close to the cyclonic path that the particles will travel which increases the chance for some of the particles to be sucked into the outlet. With the outlet in the middle, the particles will circle around it, which one would think would decrease the amount of particles that could get sucked up. I've looked at a ton of videos on homemade cyclone lids and Thien baffles and such, and the outlet is usually in the middle, with very few exceptions. Given that, I was wondering what you thought about the performance of the Woodriver product now that you've had a chance to use it regularly.

  • @mepro123
    @mepro1233 жыл бұрын

    No problems so far. Pretty happy with it. To be honest, I never even gave the placement of the outlet much thought. Now that you bring it up though, I agree a center outlet would be better. That being said, the only debris that seems to get through is very fine particles. The bigger stuff falls into the steel can. Ultimately, still very happy with it especially since it was somewhere around $35. There are probably better products out there, but none I’m aware of at that price point!

  • @hugoquelquechosecommeca3560
    @hugoquelquechosecommeca35603 жыл бұрын

    en théorie il faut uniquement pousser, en pratique tant que tu fait pas dans la charpente métallique ou des pièces vraiment sensibles, tu peut te permettre de tirer tant que tu assure une bonne pénétration yaura aucuns soucis le problème c'est que t'aura une moin bonne protection gazeuse en tirant, donc plus de risques de soufflure etc et comme ton angle est pas le meme tu apporte ton metal différemment mais en général ca tient sans problèmes apres la oui jai jamais vu des "montantes" tirées on voit pas les soudures de pret donc je peut pas trop mavancer mais en france dans bcp de boite on fait encore des descendantes alors que c'est plus pratiqué dans pas mal d'autres pays donc bon niveau soudure pas catho on peut pas trop trop parler...

    Not sure, but I've got mine LOADED and it still rolls around just fine. I think the biggest factor is going to be whatever the casters are rated for. Even if they're only 100# each, that's 400# total since the cart mostly distributes the weight.
