I thought this would be about the family that left CB because they didn't like living in a red state. They missed the liberalism they had up north.
Superb …. I will be relocating in about a month.. Thanks so much
I moved here about 2 years ago and like the area better than California, at least the politics in general. I hate the massive taxes in California, but have found Dorchester County to be out of control. I swear I pay about the same in Taxes here as I did in California when all is said and done. It won't be long before I move out to another county that does not burden me so. I like the fact about the HOA, but really want a large solar system and a large shed work building that they just will not let me build here. No HOA in the next one, I promise you that.
Great video Ryan, thanks!
I'm from and live in Houston. My girlfriend is from Beaufort. Every reason you gave to not come, is a reason we want to, especially #7! Hahaha! Awesome video!
built on a swamp and the traffic is terrible
Really a swamp? Don’t you mean “Tall Pines” farm? I swear the natives don’t even know the facts. Cane bay was all hunting farm land at one time. Now summers corner is built on a swamp.
Really good video, it makes a great point. There is so much more than just your house that you must consider. I learned this the hard way when I left a big city for smaller town. I was allured by the dramatic price drop to the small town but sometimes you get what you pay for. I will definitely be much choosier the next time we move as I am so unhappy in our new location. On one hand I got a brand new home for about $100k less than I could have dreamed in my old town but the energy is different, I am bored to tears and I have a very unrewarding job. It all ties into this area (I'm in central Florida from south Florida). Our next move may need to be out of state. Tnx for the video.
Thanks for watching!
20+ years living in Summerville and I am done and ready to get out the traffic and congestion is out of control here, crimes are continously on the rise.
Nice homes but price is 😮for SC . Up North (PA)prices .
Including 55+ community and all neighborhoods where can you get the most house for the money?
Great info! Which neighborhood do you get most house for the -money?
Generally speaking, Cane Bay or Summers Corner. Both neighborhoods offer affordable housing but also have completely different HOAs for amenities. So you really need to connect with someone like myself for a more precise approach!
@@RyanMcHughLivinginSummerville Ok thank you !
4/2020 moved here f PA Ready to move out of Summerville for so many reasons I would not be able to list all here Bye bye Summerville SC
Ugg,
Can you do a video on the new Townhome section at Pine Hills
I live in Mount Pleasant and can't wait to leave. Glad they enjoy it.
Just moved from Nevada to Moncks Corner and I am so happy. Big lot, nice spacious home, close to a lake (Not Tahoe, but I'll take it), out of the hustle and bustle. Summerville traffic is INSANE but getting to Downtown Charleston isn't bad at all. Able to get to all the beaches in about 45 minutes to an hour. Lovng it so far!
I like your coverage will get in touch.
I look forward to hearing from you! 843-226-5535 or [email protected]
Is Harleyville too far up I26?
Harleyville is really far from Charleston.
People are shifting over to Cane Bay
Oh yeah, Cane Bay is a huge spot to stretch your dollar. You really can get the most bang for your buck.
WHEN THERE'S MORE TENNIS COURTS THAN BASKETBALL COURTS SAYS SOMETHING
Hahaha… Yeah sure does. People like Tennis and Pickle ball. Plenty of B Ball courts downtown Charleston though. :)
Can you pay extra to get hard wood floors instead of Vinyl ?
Yes you can! You just need to do a True Be Built home and upgrade to wood flooring.
We're getting 120° heat here in Vegas and humidity. Makes me question the future move to Summerville.....😂 Kidding, at least it's beautiful while being hot and muggy, while Vegas is like the Devil's hairdryer is on full heat and everything is dead or fake. 🤦♂️
I also live in Vegas n am thinking about summerville
Yes I’ve been in Vegas during the summer and it’s like Hell’s Sauna. Summerville is nowhere near as hot as Vegas.
I just moved from Reno, and so happy I did.
Jealous 😂 hope you enjoy it. Cant wait.@@rellagreen
I live in Cane Bay, my husband lived in Vegas, I lived in Phoenix. It's just different hot. I love the heat. It's not nearly warm enough here all the time for me. July is typical the worst, or in my opinion, the best of the heat. If we were to leave here and go back to Vegas, my ideal neighborhood would be in Henderson at the Tuscany.
Very informative
Beautiful
Don't forget to mention that Nexton was voted the #1 neighborhood in the country.
So is this your version of "Dont move here, we're full" lol. Just playing. Living in Summers Corner and loving it.
@@SpArKs34-4 lol no sir just a video for folks who might regret moving here
OMG! I ❤️ LOVE IT!
Good morning, will they have single-story homes?
I love all the neighborhoods and the incentives are amazing. However, I'm not looking to move for another 8 years or so. I hope they will still be building then. How do you deal with the humitity though
8yrs? A lot can happen in 8yrs. I doubt these areas will still be building but you never know. The humidity isn't awful it's bearable.
I've found staying in an AirBnb helpful for scoping out a place to live. You feel like you are really living in the community.
Agreed! I think that’s a great option. Even the Homewood suites/ Hilton garden inn has an extended stay option. Excellent for checking out an area first.
I love Asborough! I couldn’t afford the house I wanted with the renovation.
You saying you love absolutely everything is annoying as hell. Why do you say yhe room is a good size when all you fit in there is a bed and 2 nightstands???
Because what else are you planning on shoving inside that bedroom? Sorry it's "Annoying as hell". You don't have to watch if you find it annoying. To be honest your comments are annoying.
Something I noticed is that the hallways are very narrow. How the heck do they fit furniture through there?
People manage. They're wider in person.
we moved from long Island NY to Summerville three years ago and absolutely love it. Small town feel, can still drive to the beach and 30 minutes away from downtown Charleston. My kids love it and assimilated into high school beautifully. They thrived. Love the simple slow relaxed lifestyle here and everyone is super friendly.
Very cool! Great to hear
How much are hoa fees
Generally $75-100 a month depending on the neighborhood.
Waterpark passes are $90/person for a year? Are there any good amusement parks close by? I want to live in a super friendly neighborhood with a lot of community activities to get to know and make friends easily. Are most of the people genuine or just on the "outside" if you know what I mean?
I would check out Nexton or Carnes Crossroads.
Sounds similar to our situation. Love our house, but let’s be Mt Pleasant area. Reminds me of where we lived in San Diego. Lots of options for shop and dinning
Yeah, I hear this a lot actually and so I thought it might be good to start talking to people about their options before they dive in.
Hopefully headed to SC by the end of the year. Will definitely keep you in mind when I am ready to buy!
Please do! I am happy to help you! I can also help you discover what neighborhood or area will be the best lifestyle. My best, Ryan!
I have regrated it for 10 years now didn't want to come in the first place after I retired wanted to stay in the Berkshires where I came from I went from a slow pace living in a town of 600 people to this mess in Summerville hate it so much
Extremely valuable info!! Tx!!
Glad it was helpful!
nope!!!!
Where are the Churches and Temple's?
Generally downtown Charleston. There are few beautiful churches in Summerville as well!
Marseille....marsay
1. Why are there no basements? 2. Why are they built on top of each other, like urban inner city sprawl, no land, no frontage.
The food prices as well as gasoline are not inexpensive.
I live in CA the crazy gas price is 4:59 and that was cheap. No wonder I want to get out of here. How do you get used to the humidity? I live in the High desert so it's 110f right now, but not humid. I heard house mold is very common. Is that true? If so, how do you prevent it, and take care of it if you get it?
What about the trashy rednecks...
The price of homes is ridiculous now and traffic is the same I came from a small town and hate this where I lived I couldn't see my neighbor south is not friendly my neighbors i do not know and they don't want to know me .
I never wanted to move here to many people to hot to flat I love new England people don't like us here not very friendly at all if my wife had not wanted to come I would never be here been 10 years not better they said give it time nope done with it you can have the south
You’re funny bro
Don't Loot 😂😂
It’s not rocket science, that’s for sure. 👍🏻
