    How many yards is that bucket? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I saw 35 on the side of the haul truck, I assume thats how many yards it can haul. So, a 9 yard bucket?

    No,these buckets are huge, may be 40 to 50 cubic yards, truck probably holds 350 tons ,

    Usually load a truck in 3 passes, that's the standard .

    It's called a dipper, gravity closes it. Has a latch bar which hangs verticle, and a latch lever which is pulled up with the pulley and rope. The clunk you can hear is the latch riding upand locking into the dipper.

    I found this video really interesting, man that shovel is a beast. I looked up your location - man you have a lot of mines in your locale! I'm all the way down under in New Zealand, I think most of the coal mines here are underground but not sure to be honest. Thanks for your video.

    I was born in Gillette on Nov 9, 1950. I lived in Gillette from 1984 to 2011. My Grandparents , Nobel and Celestine Cates lived on Emerson Ave. at 4th Street for over 30 years. They homesteaded Near Echeta northwest of Gillette in 1919. My maternal Grandparents homesteaded north of Spring Creek in the Little Powder River Breaks southeast of Recluse in 1922. I am proud of my Wyoming Heritage. I always believe in Wyoming Graciousness. I bring that Campbell County Social Attitude to where I am. I am living in Chandler AZ. God Bless You. Thank You for reminding me of My Heritage.

    My father lived & died in Gillette , He lived there many years in a trailer park. I was born in 1953 in Omaha and never found him until 1995.

    Thanks! My first car was a n/a Omni GLH, but then the owner of a local music store had a turbo Lancer and I had to have one after that. Turbo envy big time! I can't wait to drive it to work tomorrow! It definitely hauls the mail (or pizza heh).
