Genius! Think I'll copy!
Great! Let me know how it goes.
Nice bench. I like the creativity. I am a new woodworker and am working on !y workbench now. It will not be as fancy as yours though. I am only. Putting one 3/4 piece of plywood on top. How deep should dog holes be? Should I add more plywood? The plywood is not inlaid like yours it sits on top of 2/4 frame and support.
Welcome to woodworking!!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I would have the dog holes go completely through. Some of the accessories have a longer 3/4” shaft. Before I made my workbench, i watched youtube videos, many recommended at least 2 sheets of 3/4” plywood. The great thing about woodworking is you can always build another workbench as you learn what you like and don’t like. Think of it as a prototype.
@carlytackles hi. Thanks. I also wanted to ask you how to make something plum. My workbench on one diagonal side is 95 5/8 and the other side is 95 7/16. How do I get it even?
@businessleadership2717 if this is a solid piece like a sheet of plywood, you will have to make some cuts to ensure corners are 90 and sides are same lengths. If it is something like a frame, its normally my angles in the corner, especially if i used miters, that are causing me issues. Before assembly, can use clamps to make sure corners are square and are good to go before glueing or fastening. Also, never trust a manufacturer edge is 90. I typically cut 2x4 ends off at the miter saw before starting measurements.
@@carlytackles thank you
hello loved the video! how long did it take you to fill the pool??!
With 1 hoses-> entire day. The last few years we have used 2 hoses to fill it up and it takes about half a day.
Thx for “shed”-ding light on installation 🤙
The best DIY about hard plumbing the intex pool!!!!🎉🎉🎉
She said “side piece” 😂
Thank you for taking the time to show details.
Glad you appreciated it and thank you for leaving a comment.
This is amazing 🎉
I know you made this video 3 years ago....... I just found it after replacing my hoses 2 years in a row. LOVE your video!! I can find all parts except the 2 flush bushings????? Do you have pictures or links for those parts? thank you so much
I picked them up at a Menards. Their website is not the best, I tried getting the exact flush bushing to come up but it did not work.
You guys did better than me. Took me 2 hours after having it unpacked. Filling it up now. Watched the video first and helped me avoid reading the tiny instruction print. Came back to comment and say thanks! 👍
Great to hear that it helped. Thanks for leaving a comment
I rarely comment on DIY videos, but I must give you a HUGE thank you for doing this. I bought a used vinyl pool this season and of course it has leaking issues. PVC to PUMP was the ideal fix. I didnt know where to begin until I saw this video. A million thanks to you!
Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts. I’m glad it helped you out. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the materials list. Very pro.
You ROCK! Very cool video, and LOVE the background music!
Going to start putting this pool together now…!! I will Luke how it goes…!! Your video is definitely going to help me out…!! Now I know what I am up against THANK YOU 🤞🤞🤞
Thanks, just bought mine and was confused on the bevel cut adjustment. Edit: For anyone like me who still couldn't get tilt to work, check the troubleshooting section to figure out how to adjust the bolts in the back for bevel tension and lock arm tension. The smaller bolt you loosen to reduce friction on the lock arm and the larger bolt you loosen to allow the saw to tilt for a bevel cut, and vice versa for tightening.
Funsicele oasis lap pool 18×9
Just did this for my dog’s large pool and didn’t even need a drill! I traced the fitting with a sharpie marker and then cut out the circle with the utility knife. 💦❤️
my water flows slow
If you need more water pressure you can try adding a utility pump.
Awesome video.
How far do the legs stick out at the bottom from the sides?
The manual says that when the pool is full of water the width of the pool, including base of frame is 19’ x 10’. I find that pretty close to accurate. It might extend a little farther
Good job
My suction filter does not fit over pvc. Is the 3/4 a different grade?
Try sanding the outside of the pvc a bit to get it to fit in the filter fitting.
Nice video. I plan to do this this year. Appreciate the close ups on the pipe clamps, wasnt sure from your descriptions alone how the pvc would seal to the outlets. I'd like to pvc the outlet and inlet sides.
Nice. Eventually you could make the downward pipe longer up to the ground and mage there 90 degree angle to the hose. Then it would be self-supporting.
Great idea
Hi Carly, I appreciate the info on the bolt size. I am not sure where I would have fount that. What length of bolt did you use with your 2x4 ?
Because i drilled into the board so bolt was flush, i used 1-1/2”. But if you just wanted the bolt to sit proud of 2x4, 2”
I have to say this is the best and most thorough video for pvc conversion. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Loved the video - thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I will use 4×4 pressure treated lumber, p stone, fine sand on top, black heavy duty targ .....how far out of 18×9 should I set my frame? I want to set it right next to my existing deck ...plz
Can the pool be moved once is set up but still empty? Can I drag it empty?
For setup- you are going to want to allow for room to work and fully extend the u frames. The manual says the frame (when setup) will stick out an extra foot making your total pool dimension 10’ x 19’. I would allow for more room. If I could do it over, i would extend that paver width - my length was fine. The frame needs to hit the center of the support- ours ended up hitting the outside edge of pavers and it caused them to shift.
Not easily. There is weight but the problem is more with the frames. They don’t support the pool well until water is it. They are going to fall in or out when you move it and will need to be setup again. The frames stand and extend to their proper place once filled with water.
I'm gonna set up mine soon. How far from the eage of my deck I should set the legs up? .
The legs when setup, take up an extra foot (10’ x19’) according to the manual. One thing to think about is that to setup the pool the u frame have to lay full flat and out away from pool. If the deck has a railing- make sure you allow for the length of the U frame on each side plus the pool dimensions or your setup will be difficult
I just ordered one and I can't wait to put it together.
Thats great! Hope you enjoy it. We have used ours for a few years now, taking it down every fall and putting it back up in spring.
Why do this when intex literally makes a skimmer that hangs over the inside of the pool?
I would recommend buying the Intex one of price is still reasonable. Back when pool supplies were extremely hard to find during peak of covid- this is an option to make your own so you can have a skimmer.
not sure what i did wrong the doors are rough to close, any tips?
Does it feel like the door is being restrained from the hinges or from the top and bottom?
@@carlytackles more like its rubbing against the black plastic frame.
@bigtaco956 is the the the bottom portion level front to back and left to right? Thats all i can think of if its hard to close. There is a slant in the front of the bottom that doors rub against to help lift it up and then it falls into the notch- its not a rough close though.
Can you put the plastic base directly on gravel?
That is what I did.
I owe you a beer. Thank you! From Traverse City, Michigan.
Any time!
This is very helpful. Thank you. I bought 9/16 screws and they fit perfectly.
Awesome tutorial!!!
Pano mag order
Impressive.
great video!! i used your parts list and got all my supplies last weekend. one thing i noticed, the 3/4 inch schedule 40 pvc dose not fit the pool intakes!! i think im just going to leave them off the inside of the pool. Thanks for you creativity and easy to follow steps.
I had this same problem. They were too loose. Weird.
66 year old granny here. My two cents… A girlfriend and I put the walls & roof together last weekend. We had trouble with one of the walls for some reason - WD40 did the trick. I had all sorts of trouble with the 2 door latches. Again - watched tons of videos but the little lever would NOT fit in the hole of the plastic pieces. I switched them, tried a gazillion different configurations. I tried WD40 - nothing. After quitting and letting the stuff sit outside - it rained. When I tried it again - voila. Have no idea why that worked - I did nothing different. After reading a gazillion reviewers complain about the door hinges, I watched a slew of videos on how to install them. So today - I tried it by myself. They ARE difficult. The hard part - for me - was getting one hinge on each door to snap into the wall. The other 2 went fine and but the 3rd one on each side was awful. To be clear - they DO SNAP in place - you have an obvious, audible snap. I also had some weird plastic piece that connected the 2 handle pieces together. Didn’t see anyone else with that so I broke it off. Handles went on pretty easily - but they are plastic. Some folks put a metal latch on - which I may try. My best advice - watch videos. They are a huge help. Good luck!
Thanks for de video, really useful the way that you explain it .!!
Great video. (Cut the music)
Thanks for the feedback
Can't wait to fix up my dog's pool!
All your glue joints appear to be incorrect. You applied primer & glue to a pipe and inserted that into a dry fitting. Both sides of any joint must have primer and glue applied. It doesn't look like you did that.
I doubt it will matter for this purpose. It's not under that much pressure. Nothing's going to burst.
You're absolutely right, I didn't realize she did that, I'm a woman I've done plumbing and I know your have to do both pipes that you are connecting
This worked perfectly for me! Quick, simple and to the point. Ordered the fixtures off Amazon, did two big plastic tub buckets in about 20 minutes. Can't thank you enough for making this so easy.
Thank you for leaving this nice comment. Great to hear people are having success with it.
Like a boss with the side storage!
Nice Video Carly! It really helped us out!
Great job, you provided the details I needed to understand the correct way to use the K4, bravo!
Your ability to explain things makes all the difference. Thank you
