Offbeat Motors

Offbeat Motors

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by. My name is Corey and I have a fascination for odd, rare, offbeat cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, airplanes and well, anything with a motor. In addition to all that, I’m also into Cameras, Mountain Biking and some tech(PC) stuff.

On my channel I'll be sharing these things as I show you my hobbies and learn some new stuff.

I’m also wanting to get into some gaming, Racing and GTA games, so I’ll be sharing some of those videos as well.

You'll also be seeing classic vehicle restoration videos from my father, Ward, and his boss Blake from Winding Road Classics.

Be sure to subscribe!

I'm looking for sponsorship opportunities with a company that's willing to work with a new and growing KZread channel. Lets take a chance on each other and see where we can take this! E-mail inquiries to [email protected]

Thanks for stopping by
Corey

I just purchased a 2023 Willys with the 3.6 and the auto start stop has not came on at all. Has mine already been turned off? I am afraid to turn it on . I don't want any problems. Also, will the aux battery still wear out if the feature remains off?

I added 1.5" leveling pucks to the front. It seems the gladiator thinks I'm now on an uneven surface and refuses to use auto stop/start. AND no annoying lights!

Have a 2020 Glad, If you don't reset the oil change timer and just keep the provided window sticker from say Jiffy Lube. it deactivates the stop and start. Funny thing is the dealer sends me the time to change oil anyway since they keep track of my milage remotely.which surprised me they can do that?

Just replaced my turn signal lever! (Cost about $41 including tax.) it took about 30 minutes to switch out, and it saved me about $160-200 if I had to pay a dealer to install! Thanks for the help! Keep them coming!!

Jscan does not cost this much. My whole setup was 50 bucks tops. License is what 20 maybe? Much cheaper than that tazer garbage, and you don't have to leave it plugged in. It's a superior method, basically what a dealer would do hooking up their gear and making changes to the on board systems that last.

I don’t own a Rubicon, but I do have a Jeep Cherokee Latitude and that auto start on off has been nothing but a headache! I believe that theory that the feature drains the extra battery, but now I’m also starting to believe that it puts a strain on the starter. My warranty just expired 1,000 miles ago and guess what?? I have to replace that extra battery PLUS the starter, and it’s not cheap!! 😡 I’m just going to turn it off on the dashboard from here on out

i think just turning it off will not solve the problem long term, I always turned mine off by the switch, it was muscle memory, and three years in aux battery dead. I love that little add on but long term I dont think its going to work. Plus, just not sure about leaving a dead LI battery in the vehicle, those things get unstable over time

I don't own an 'auto start stop' vehicle, but I had a thought about the (VERY STUPID) idea with the seatbelt. Im not sure of the sensing method for seatbelt connection, but if it completes an electrical circuit, you could try painting the metal insert with a non-conductive coating. (It seems unlikely though, as I doubt there is a conductor running through the actual belt, but that would be the best design to make it more difficult for people to bypass. Just a thought(VERY STUPID, lol)... Can, or do, people buy seatbelt inserts, so they can fool the car into believing the belt is connected? <That idea wouldn't be able to work if the sensor was electrical circuit completion.) Anyway, just some random thoughts on a lazy Sunday afternoon. (It's only around 1:00pm, but as it happens, the radio is just now playing Alan Jackson's "It's Five 5:00 Somewhere"... so, as I closeout my comment, I leave any lucky reader with a hearty "CHEERS---Here's to Good Health, and Good Times!")👍🏼✌🏼🇨🇦

Fyi not all auto start stops have a second battery. Ours is a rubicon 2021 with auto start and main battery shorted. Went to oreillys and bought both batteries pulled main one out followed a KZread video were the second battery was torn it apart supported to be under the fuse panel and there was a compartment but no second battery. Called dealer parts department and using the vin there was no second battery on my rubicon ever installed at the factory. No extra cables for it either. Saved me 100.00 bucks

The microns of these dry filters are so much smaller than the K&N, any oil will clog it and hurt flow. On a K&N, which allows larger particulars to flow, absolutely needs oil or the same size debris will get through and can and will damage your engine. Not sure why anyone would think to oil the Mopar filter. Wow, no common sense.

Pushing the button just turns it off when driving & it doesn't help the issue , which is the small bat. Draining and your remote start not working so eliminating it is the way to go !!! Won't have to worry about the small bat. And remote start will continue to work .. also the seat belt thing does work .I personally like Jscan better not only cause it's way cheaper but I find it does about everything tazer does but I believe tazer might have one or two brand specific things it does. All in it cost me less than 80 bucks to use Jscan & I can buy more vins where tazer is vehicle specific. Oh if you read the comments ( i hope so ) in your description you have the tazer link in for both tazer & Jscan not Jscan's link lol
