Born in Biloxi, MS on Oct 2, 1948, the son of an Air Force pilot, Chris travelled all over the country and overseas. He developed an early passion for the west, horses and rodeo. He found early success as a bareback rider and discovered songwriting which allowed him the ability to tell stories about the rodeo lifestyle he loved. He recorded his first album of rodeo songs in 1971 and created an independent record label, American Cowboy Songs. At the 1976 National Finals Rodeo, Chris won the World Bareback Title and took home the coveted gold buckle. He recorded his 22nd independent album in 1989 and shortly after signed a major record deal with Capitol and exploded into the national spotlight. He released another 18 albums in his time at Capitol Records and sold over 6 million around the world. Beyond all of his accomplishments and success, his most endearing quote will always be “What I want to be known for, on top of everything else, is that I was a good husband and a family man.”

My favorite country music performer doing a beautiful job with Bruce Springsteen's great song. So sad that Chris LeDoux left us so young. RIP
I can’t explain what an impact this man had on me. 21 cds (and cassettes) on constant rotation. Seen him live a whole bunch of times, from a dome stadium in Tacoma, Wa with two other big time country bands. To county fairs anytime he got within a 4 hour drive. None better. Miss him all the time. Ride in Peace friend.
Santa Maria!!? No way! When!?
It was meant for me to find this song
Best interpretation of a classic. Chris LeDoux for the win.
I just saw Ned in Santa Maria❤️❤️❤️!
Great tune from Chris. Western Underground was such a tight band too. Glad we had you as long as we did, Ol Boy. Also, I always loved that Guild guitar he played. Class all the way round. Ned, Keep up the good work Son.
Miss brother. You know..
Love that guy.
R.I.P Cowboy
Nice
I'm a rocker thru n thru, but there's just something special about Chris Ledoux.
It doesn't get any better than Chris. Too bad I don't learn this while he was still around and touring. Rest in Peace Cowboy. You are still loved and will never be forgotten.
I just love Chris, I can’t believe that he isn’t kickin around anymore. Thank God his songs are. God keep Chris LeDoux ❤
