Just a geek with a full set of power tools!
I do woodworking, woodturning or whatever piques my interest at the time. My hope is to have one part woodworking and one part crazy. I'll try my best to make something interesting. This is just for fun, please don't do what I do in the shop.

Use it to make a new mold and add a rebar core, surrounded by bears let's see if a mark 3 can be functional
personally id have tried sandblasting before painting to make it closer to new before painting. wouldnt use it to store any foodstuffs but it is still decent decorum
That ice cream scoop was commissioned buy a child back in the 50's when his Mum always said that he can only ever have one scoop of ice cream.
SO! A few interesting points: - The paint on the milk cannister is probably Enamel based paints, hence why they scoff at your metal wire tools. - Additionally, the lid is easier to remove if you use a piece of wood under the rim and propped up on one of the handles to use as a lever. - "A whole can of beans" is a mutation of the phrase "a whole tin of worms" resulting from people born in places without fishing as a common practice.
Still a shame about the horrific sponsor, I really used to like your vids. I know you claim to be on a contract, but I'm not going to be able to stomach it, going to regrettably have to unsub if the next video has the same. Getting hard to find anyone who cares about other people more than bending over for evil corporate overlords. There are lots of ways to support yourself in this world, not all of them involve harming others.
You should do more of this love love love it ❤❤❤
Well the next toy for the shop should be a sand blasting booth. Great job and video.
Surprised you didn't try submerging it and doing electrolysis. That would've gotten everything off that wasn't metal.
surprised you didnt use por15 or something of the like to stop the rust.
'The whole ball of wax' maybe? Nice find with that milk can. I picked up a massive cast iron rendering cauldron for the same price (ridiculously lucky, those big ones can hit $300 or more). The plan was to derustify it and use it for either boiling corn or sap but so far it's just been upside down on blocks as an impromptu rain shelter for the cat =D
Its a milk churn, its what farmers use to use to put milk in before tankers collected the milk for processing
Thx Peter your grate love your videos and this one is no exception
Ooh use all that red rust to make Thermite! It’s one of only two ingredients you need. The other is just aluminum
was a little bit of a shame painting the ice cream scoop instead of waxing and oiling it
Loved the episode as allways but the sponsor is not good please do not support better help or be sponsored by them.
9:25 Peter's auditioning for Metallica
You need acid bath for those paint / rust stripping jobs, it would be a 20 minutes issue.
Man I think i would have kept the patina and just clear coated that can after you got the paint off. it looked good imo.
Do NOT sponsor BetterHelp.
Great video. Repair! Yay. Mahalo for sharing! : )
I hope we get some more Brown's Repair Shop videos in the future!
Over here in the ole country…. That things a Milk Churn 🤔
We call that a milk churn in the UK. They were a regular sight when I was a kid but phased out of everyday use in the late 70's.
I wish you had left the peach intact. 😢
I hope you’ll choose to listen to your community about better help I saw someone leave a pretty big comment about it but now it appears to be gone I just want you to know that not only are they selling other peoples data but it’s affecting you too if you actually do use better help
I can't help but think that some gold highlights in the lettering would make that milk can pop
I remember seeing a milk can... black... But I don't remember knowing what it was at the time. Nice restoration!
In UK we'd call it a Milk Churn
“Give it the beans?”
LOVE The Repair Shop, but didn't know it's also on YT! I do now.
That’s the only way I can watch it in the US.
Just so we're on the same page, I love your current content, but I would most def watch a Peter Brown resto channel as well! Haha
I think Peter was probably mixing his metaphors. A “hill of beans” and a “can of worms” both seemed applicable, but his brain turned into a blender (like everyone’s does, from time to time) and we got a “can of beans.” 😉
Its a milk churn
I think some more "repair shop" videos would be really great! I'm not sure how you could decide what to repair, but viewers could submit things through an email or something. I understand that would be a lot of work though.
9:40 did you enjoy grinding your name in the metal 😂😂
Please please please look up what a terrible company BetterHelp is. They collect a ton of sensitive info and then sell it, including things like the intake form. Nobody should ever take a sponsor from them, as neat as their services are on paper they cannot be trusted, they take advantage of people with mental health issues and it's just not okay.
You heard your wife, Peter, she wishes she had a flame thrower.
The all white is terrible why did I sit througha whole video for that
Time to get a sandblaster! (more tools are always needed 😎)
Ice cream shovel, $6.99 Amazon with bakilite handle witch you could replace with something of your own
Surprised that you didn't media blast the milk can. Harbor freight has some affordable tools to do the job
You should check out LADB Restoration as well..... Lots of cool history that they resurrect. This was a great double feature though!
In England it is called a Milk Churn, enjoy your content!
@1:28 Don't let that opportunity go to waste! You know what your next shop tool is going to be! 🔥
12:55 Not for Mrs. Brown! 😅
What a great idea using the plane on the handle. Nice job.
I would have been so disappointed if you didn't save the rust. You didn't disappoint 😊
You do realise you now have permission to build a flame thrower. You got the go ahead when she uttered the magic words " I wish we had a flame thrower".
I believe 'churn' is the word you are looking for. Milk churn.
It's not a milk Can/Jug it's a milk Churn.
