could you possibly tell the exact measurements you used finally please?? 🥺❤️
@justjudieАй бұрын
Of course! Sorry if i wasn't clear enough in the video! For the front and back piece i ended up with 8” x 8” plus 1/2" seam allowance all around. For the bottom piece, I ended up with 24” long tapering the width from 1” to 2” back to 1”. 2:57 is where i explain this in full plus 1/2" seam allowance all around. For the strap i ended up with 24” x 1” plus 1/2" seam allowance all around. For the ruffle i ended up with 96” x 4”. If you end up doing a shorter strap, just add 24” to your desired strap length then double it to determine the length you need for your ruffle fabric. no need to add seam allowance. Hope this helps clarify!! 💕

What fabric is the handbag made of?
@justjudie4 ай бұрын
I'm not 100% sure as it was a scrap piece from a friend's stash. But if I had to guess, I'd say a medium weight canvas with some floral design printed on it. Hope that helps 💕

Hello, may I ask if the material on the lower bag is made of yarn or rope? About a few millimeters
@justjudie6 ай бұрын
Hi there. I'm not quite sure what you are referring to, but the pink part is yarn. You could totally use rope though! I don't have a super heavy duty machine so a soft yarn seemed like the best option for me. Hope that answers your question 💕

I honestly dont think the original has stuffing material. I believe the structure comes from the seam allowance and interfacing. It looks like the satin fabric may have iron on interfacing. The first method with interfacing and a bigger center hole pre scrunch might work.
@justjudie8 ай бұрын
True! I didn't think of that! There is just so much volume in the original photos I immediately thought - stuffing. lol and yeah I completely agree with having a bigger centre hole pre scrunch! It gives it that extra volume and looks more aesthetically pleasing with all that gathering 🥰
