    Sadly our healthcare system is getting worse. my dr told me 15 yrs ago that new doctors are mostly educated on prescribing drugs over lifestyle choices. NOW, we have DEI and Bridge nonsense to deal with. for example some medical colleges are passing failing students because of their race. they need more non-whites or asians in their graduating classes. WTF! there is a school in Cali that failed a surgery test and couldn't identify a main artery and they passed her because she was a person of color. i dont remember if she was latino or black. i'm thinking to myself, i dont want this person operating on me! DEI is destroying this country.

    Day 9 on Zepbound 2.5 I am down 12 pounds. Getting ready to take my third shot in 2 days and will weigh myself at that time. I know I have lost more weight. Results are better than expected. Side effects have been mild and I only have used my stomach so far. I have little or no desire to eat ever.

    Both thighs were absolutely my least favorite as well. Weeks 1-2 I lost 10 pounds on 2.5 mg (shots around my belly). Weeks 3-4 on 2.5 mg I lost only 1 pound or so (shots in both thighs). I went back to my belly area for week 5 which is now.

    Nurse here :)two tips. These type of diabetic medications absorb the best in the belly. Also, when they say rotate locations, it only means move an inch away from your last injection spot. If you think about it, diabetics usually take about 5 injections a day and type 1 have been doing this all their lives so can build up car tissue. They take 2 long acting and one short acting with each meal. We mainly use the 4 quadrants of the abdomen to rotate shots. So don’t feel you need your use your arm or leg. Since it’s weekly, just going left one week and right the next is adequate. Hope that makes life easier :)

    WFPB since 2011. Food noise is still real for vegans. I just started my journey. Injection #3 today. ~25 pounds to lose. Inflammatory markers crazy high. Fatty liver seen on ultrasound. I struggled trying for the past 2 yrs to lose weight. Finally, I decided to go this route. Losing slow- 1+ pound/wk so far. Good luck on your journey. I'm glad I found your channel. I've also found the Merogenomics YT page quite helpful in breaking down the reports and studies. 2 lbs a week is what you should be shooting for and its normal to go up and then down a few pounds. Try not to worry so much and focus on your end goal of 1 yr :) It's normal to lose more in the beginning because its water and inflammation not fat

    Totally agree! My weight loss has severely slowed down in the past month, though(around .5 a week if I'm lucky sometimes) even with tons of daily movement and healthy eating/healthy lifestyle. So that's my main reason for feeling like titrating up at my next refill is the best decision for me at this time.

    You need a new doctor. I go to a naturopathic female doctor. Now she would never prescribe a GLP but she does provide all my bio identical hormone replacement. I get my GLP from a compounding pharmacy. I feel exactly the same way you do about our Sick Care industry. Why are you a vegan?

  • @PeacocksPounds
    @PeacocksPounds3 ай бұрын

    I DEFINITELY need a new doctor and would love to find a naturopathic or lifestyle medicine doctor near me. I was hoping that functional medicine doc I saw in the fall would work out but he was just another pill pusher(albeit non-pharmaceuticals but just TONS and TONS of supplements). I will take any necessary supplements that I can't get by modifying my daily nutrition but I try to get whole food forms of things as much as possible. My whole family has been plant based since July 2021(we do still eat eggs from my parents' farm a few times a month) and sneak real cheese here and there. Initially went plant based for health reasons and then broadened our scope to being vegan in our lifestyle(avoiding animal products in all aspects of life) once I finally had the courage to watch and learn and witness more about animal agriculture. Being vegan(as much as humanly possible in this world) just felt right as a huge animal lover that has worked with animal rescue causes my entire adult life. My spirit is more at peace with this way of life and more aligned with my values.

    Hello! Thanks for sharing your journey. I'm a fellow Minnesotan! Listening to your experience has been really helpful as I am preparing myself to take the plunge. I'm wondering if I may ask you a few questions? I'll begin by saying that I am also Whole Food Plant Based on and off for about 2 years now. I'm happy to hear that eating this way seems to be helpful. Do you still drink coffee and do you find that it agrees with you? Which coffee creamer do you use, if still drinking coffee? I really haven't gotten into fermented foods too much, anything quick and easy that you would suggest starting with? Congrats on your success and your skin looks amazing!! Thank you!

  • @PeacocksPounds

    Hi Shelly!! I'm so glad you found me. I'm so excited for you to start your journey. Your words are so sweet and kind -- thank you!! I do still drink coffee(I wait to drink my coffee until at least 2 hours after waking at which point I break my fast as I do love plant creamer in my coffee). I will say I do notice it slightly upsets my tummy the first few days after my shot day(nothing unbearable though -- just some slight discomfort/upset tummy as I don't usually eat anything with my coffee). We use the Country Crock Plant Cream(SO FREAKING GOOD -- tastes EXACTLY like whipping cream and works exactly like it too in baking/cooking). We've been able to find it at many grocery stores here in MN(Coborns/Hy-Vee/Rademachers for sure -- likely others!). For fermented foods, I usually drink my water kefir(video coming soon -- SOOOO easy and tasty!) or you can also do sauerkraut, kimchi, miso, kombucha. And you don't have to eat a ton of them -- 8 oz of the kombucha or water kefir is 1 serving, or a small scoop of kimchi or sauerkraut. Work your way up starting with 1 serving a day and gradually add another serving until you get to 3 a day. SO GOOD FOR YOUR GUT(not just for those of us on GLP1s).
