  the old mill was created in 1937, the year Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released... it's as if the storm scene is connected to the one in which the evil queen died

  In an odd bit of foreshadowing, the frogs start croaking the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” to each other, and Disney would adapt it for Fantasia.

  Why didn't Disney animate 'Dracula'? They could have created amazing effects. The original early Hammer Horrors remind of Disney, the sets, the technicolor.

  This cartoon I really don't like too much. To me, it just feels completely pointless, plot-wise. Just a random mill out of wherever, with a bunch of animals in it and around it, and a storm rolls in & causes some short havoc, but everyone and everything makes it through, even with barely a few scratches and mess-ups to the mill itself. That's it, nothing else. COMPLETELY pointless! But the only thing that saves it from being worse than that is that it was showing off testings of new techniques and effects, and camera work, that were being newly made and used at the time for "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". And they at least proved to work, and we got what we know today in that film.
