The top players in any storm game are the ones who change their chakra and mash from buttons to triggers in the layout. Its at its worst in storm 4 where it allows you to consistently dash/jutsu buffer glitch. It is sweaty and will never garner my respect.

Changing the button configuration gives you a massive advantage... I have a few friends that do that and it took me a long time to adapt to them. When you play a player who mastered that layout you have a certain amount of options off the table as a normal button player you have to go to their pace and they always control the tempo of the game outside a few key moments. It's very suppressive.

Nice video man. I like to preface this by saying my favorite competitive was S4. PIayed from release to like 2022. Had managed to formulate teams and techniques to combat people who abuse those glitches. And they weren't necessarily strong cookie cutter tier combinations, but as you were saying i could anticipate their moveset or the lag; and generally the game would favor my button input better. Some of it would be legit priority thru the character moveset and some of it would be as long as i hit the combo string it put me at a better advantage. I'm prolly like a 6.5 or 7/10 player but I never abused glitches and I think puts me at like a 9/10 if S4 was the same minus the glitches My top 3 favorite rotations were Zabuza, Haku, Mei Jiraiya & Sage Kabuto Tobirama & Six Paths Naruto

Storm 4 was a very good game. At first I liked it a lot but I took a break and when I came back I didn't like what the community had become so I played in my own way with 2 man teams and lower tier characters. I eventually learned to lvoe the game and all the amazing techniques you could do. I found it to be very skill based and still love it to this day. I just wish the online was more stable and less laggy aside from that everything is gucci. Those teams you used are very fair teams and I respect it for sure. You are a smart player with good awareness of yourself and how others play thanks for taking the time to watch the video and for being a positive influence in the community.

On storm 4 you can switch on middle bar activation another downgrade and connection is more aggressive storm compare to storm 4 xD 5) infinite counter with no cost chacka is a less version to storm revolution but on past storm cost chakra with max 3 time to spamm on connection is free every time with punish!!! You are 100% right that the game was unfinished and that was unforgivable I'm just looking at the combat system and comparing it to other storm games to see if it was good or not. The game should be $20 - $40 for sure and no more than that and they should have been honest about the state of the game and that we would get more over time and to be patient. It is more of a project than a game. That betrayal of trust is something the community will never forget including myself but I still love the characters and think there is something good there to be salvaged.

The main thing I hear is that History Mode and the story mode are missing a lot of bosses and generally lacking overall. To a lot of people, that kills the game. Me personally, I've never been much for online play, too much toxicity. I get a game, I play it for the story and the gameplay both. While I'll agree the gameplay on this looks solid and extremely fun, the fact I've heard so many negatives about the story along with what was literally supposed to be a bunch of nostalgia in the game, it's a sad thing to hear about. And this is coming from someone who actually enjoyed Boruto. It had some very interesting characters with some cool abilities that seem like they'd be fun to try out...but see, that's another negative I've heard. Not sure if it's been fixed now, but I heard there were a lot of characters who didn't even make it into the game. So, with all this I have to ask, is there really a reason to pay a full $60 dollars if I'm not even going to touch the online stuff? I'm genuinely asking here. I have so many memories with Naruto games, more than just ultimate ninja or ultimate ninja storm.

This was a great comment and great question. Naruto Storm Connections still has a very poor story mode with weak boss battles. Many people complain about not having some of the key boss battles from past games and the unique story mode and unique characters created for this game are not strong enough to carry any significant weight in the series. Those characters are not playable either outside of the story unless you glitch or hack the game. As a game that is meant to be a 20 year celebration and was mostly a cut and past situation where the game was not finished upon release and you couldn't invite your friends to play it. The game still has support, patches and a possibility for a bright future but it isn't anywhere as good as it could have been or as it was marketed to be. When me when I say it is better than you think it is it's more just the mechanics of the game at a competitive level and the balance of those mechanics and play styles. The net code and lack of stability online also holds it back. I can see things a bit differently now from the perspective of people who don't buy the game for the online mode. It isn't much of a celebration and isn't very exciting from your perspective and I hate to hear that since I wish it had more to offer players like you.

In a sense you are actually right. The open roam mode in the village was amazing, super refined and very fun. Storm 2 story mode and boss battles were the best though so I guess even from 1 to 2 Storm 2 got better with Boss battles and included an online mode. But in a sense they did get worse over time. Oh and in terms of it being a Storm 4 dlc it definitely isn't it has improved upon the game breaking glitches of Storm 4 that players abuse. I play Storm 4 as well at a high level and I loved the game but when I went back to it it was really slow and not as smooth.

I know that collectively you all know a lot more than I do so I do my best to listen to what you say because it's a chance for me to learn and get closer to the truth. I don't have an issue changing my opinion when the facts stack up I want the anime community to be better and improve day by day if possible but to do that we have to try and tackle some difficult issues together and go through growing pains. I agree with you and think the same that the amazing mechanics in past games should be in the new ones. Mechanics I miss a lot are organic subbing from Storm 2, Tilt loops grab cancels and unique combos that take effort from generations, the relay system and instant awakening from Storm 3, the refined and balanced instant awakening system from Rev, and some of the cool switch tech from Storm 4. My answer to you on why some of these things aren't in the game is that those mechanics are intellectual property or IP for CC2 / Cyber connect 2 and to them it's all about the bag and profits. Just like how they released a collection with Storm 1 - Storm 4 they will probably do that again at some point and include some of the other games. If Connections was made to be the perfect game we would never go back to play older games and they would lose money. I think they know exactly what they're doing since they made Storm 4 the most successful anime game of all time and have made many games. It must be part of their business model. I could be wrong but it seems to be a clash flow and copyright thing where they make money forever. Thank you for your sub it means a lot. I'm not perfect but I do the best that I can. Lastly to your point about developing bad habits - I do play offline mostly with friends and rarely play online but as I’ve gotten more accustomed to online play I have noticed that sometimes my reactions feel off because I’m trying to account for lag 😂 it’s a funny phenomenon to have happen. But would definitely stress me out at a tournament AND I’m glad that you are being transparent about your skill capacity in the games. You often say “this isn’t to brag” and I personally don’t think anything you say feels like bragging, you even often show receipts of your time on leaderboards. To me it feels like you do this to communicate you’ve invested a lot of time and or mental energy into understanding the game and using the information to improve. You’ve always come across as a competent (and self aware) gamer who understands what your hard and soft limits are in terms of skill with a given team/main. You also spend a lot of time showing examples of how to play in less than favorable conditions. I think it’s good to be honest about and take pride in the things we do well.

8:00 most recently played a person who saw my shino edits on tiktok. A lot of times when I come across a new kind of spam while running adult shino I do my best to download them on match one then counterplay and win rounds 2 and 3. The lag was so bad, and I could tell he was lagging a bit too. Even stopped my combo at one point because it shouldn’t have connected. After the match (it was laggy but playable and close) they sent me a nasty message about how I never finish a combo and I’m not as good as my videos make me look (I’ve posted 4 over several months like chill out lmao) But refused to rematch me. The game then matched us up four more times before he clicked rematch, I proceeded to perfect him twice with the very same team he called trash. Can you guess what he did after? Sent me a message saying I was a spammer for using melee to air combo loops so often and blocked me 😂 All of that happened because someone saw a video of me playing without lag, then fought me while there was lag, and refused to accept the truth, until it was beaten into him but adult shino’s bugs. I can only imagine what he would have said if I had used some of the more egregious ranged loops I can create with him. Because of that second chakra stealing jutsu

The only official comment I know of that directly addressed the leader switch mechanic for s4 is that the devs “expected players to explore the new mechanic as much as possible” and even that is a paraphrased excerpt 😂 the copium to believe glitches were intended is crazy. And if it truly was intended they’d have left it in storm connections I feel like and they didn’t, the patched 90% of it out. I’m in total agreeance that switch tech and switch glitches are NOT the same.

They probably didn't like how players were using the glitches and made changes to go more with what they had intended for the games overall design and player experience.

@@DontLoseToFear that’s what I think too because you can still “buffer” a jutsu switch input but it takes the chakra for example. It doesn’t have the same priorities it had in s4 but it it’s possible for anyone to do and that’s what I feel makes it an intended mechanic. Otherwise there would be certain frame you’d have to reach before you can leader switch out of a jutsu.

good video, maybe you know this but when Temari throws your opponent to the ground you can pick them up using minato's second jutsu, it hits grounded opponents. After a rasengan you can do it too. 16:09 here you would have won faster with a second jutsu after the rasengan

Yeah I hear that, the other side of the coin is tough for the person fighting the Minato player. Edo minato was the best character in the game pre patch on Storm Connections release and Alive Minato waas too easy to play with all that armour on his jutsu so everyone was a Minato main. He takes a lot more skill to use in Storm connections but in Storm 3 he was way too stacked for sure but a lot of things in Storm 3 were broken that was just how the game was. It was broken but fun

I go against those type of players all the time it’s the worst thing ever, it’s either the connection looks like they’re lag switching or they get priority over the whole game. I’m top 17 in the world for PC and it’s honestly the worst experience. The skilled based matchmaking is the worst thing they added in this game. I go against the same top 10 people everyday and it’s hard to play a certain way because they have the cringiest play styles so I’ll have to play a way to counter that and doing that repeatedly isn’t fun at all. Also the queue times are awful so I have to play on all regions which clears me to play people in Asia with red bars. I love connections but one thing I missed from previous storms is the search option in ranked and how you can queue with anyone.

So I have started Gaara maining and he is by far my favorite character to use now.
Gaara is a great choice I like to use him in this game too he's a solid pick and doesn't get bullied easily. He can put up with a lot and has great combo range 🔥

The top players in any storm game are the ones who change their chakra and mash from buttons to triggers in the layout. Its at its worst in storm 4 where it allows you to consistently dash/jutsu buffer glitch. It is sweaty and will never garner my respect.
Changing the button configuration gives you a massive advantage... I have a few friends that do that and it took me a long time to adapt to them. When you play a player who mastered that layout you have a certain amount of options off the table as a normal button player you have to go to their pace and they always control the tempo of the game outside a few key moments. It's very suppressive.

Nice video man. I like to preface this by saying my favorite competitive was S4. PIayed from release to like 2022. Had managed to formulate teams and techniques to combat people who abuse those glitches. And they weren't necessarily strong cookie cutter tier combinations, but as you were saying i could anticipate their moveset or the lag; and generally the game would favor my button input better. Some of it would be legit priority thru the character moveset and some of it would be as long as i hit the combo string it put me at a better advantage. I'm prolly like a 6.5 or 7/10 player but I never abused glitches and I think puts me at like a 9/10 if S4 was the same minus the glitches My top 3 favorite rotations were Zabuza, Haku, Mei Jiraiya & Sage Kabuto Tobirama & Six Paths Naruto
Storm 4 was a very good game. At first I liked it a lot but I took a break and when I came back I didn't like what the community had become so I played in my own way with 2 man teams and lower tier characters. I eventually learned to lvoe the game and all the amazing techniques you could do. I found it to be very skill based and still love it to this day. I just wish the online was more stable and less laggy aside from that everything is gucci. Those teams you used are very fair teams and I respect it for sure. You are a smart player with good awareness of yourself and how others play thanks for taking the time to watch the video and for being a positive influence in the community.
Well the game breaking glitches that came with leader switching weren't good either but hey what can you do they are there to stay.

I never quit but once I took a break from the community for a few years and now I'm back. The only issue I have with any of these games are lag and the immaturity of the community and their poor attitudes. Aside from that I love the games and many of the people.

It s a big comment prepare: i love all storm (not storm 2) for a infinite subs with chacka cost and you make for shake the fucking sub botton like a idiot xD but back to focus on the massage storm connections is bad very bad and now I explane why 1)the subs don t comeback with damege taken on every storm is possible and on game(connection) where the the pressing is more than the other storm series is a very stupid ideas 2)the guad is soo weak and on other storm is very solid with less pressing than connection xD 3)to many stun animation you can literally stun for every stupid thinks on connection with grab,jutsu,support jutsu,tag,ecc result people who don t know how to play storm can win easy with no difficult 4) support recover on connection if you make a support action or switch action you can t switch on middle bar but you must wait full bar support active!!! On storm 4 you can switch on middle bar activation another downgrade and connection is more aggressive storm compare to storm 4 xD 5) infinite counter with no cost chacka is a less version to storm revolution but on past storm cost chakra with max 3 time to spamm on connection is free every time with punish!!! And that all this is why connection is still a bad game with 4 patch thakns for who see this message by.

You are 100% right that the game was unfinished and that was unforgivable I'm just looking at the combat system and comparing it to other storm games to see if it was good or not. The game should be $20 - $40 for sure and no more than that and they should have been honest about the state of the game and that we would get more over time and to be patient. It is more of a project than a game. That betrayal of trust is something the community will never forget including myself but I still love the characters and think there is something good there to be salvaged.

The main thing I hear is that History Mode and the story mode are missing a lot of bosses and generally lacking overall. To a lot of people, that kills the game. Me personally, I've never been much for online play, too much toxicity. I get a game, I play it for the story and the gameplay both. While I'll agree the gameplay on this looks solid and extremely fun, the fact I've heard so many negatives about the story along with what was literally supposed to be a bunch of nostalgia in the game, it's a sad thing to hear about. And this is coming from someone who actually enjoyed Boruto. It had some very interesting characters with some cool abilities that seem like they'd be fun to try out...but see, that's another negative I've heard. Not sure if it's been fixed now, but I heard there were a lot of characters who didn't even make it into the game. So, with all this I have to ask, is there really a reason to pay a full $60 dollars if I'm not even going to touch the online stuff? I'm genuinely asking here. I have so many memories with Naruto games, more than just ultimate ninja or ultimate ninja storm.
This was a great comment and great question. Naruto Storm Connections still has a very poor story mode with weak boss battles. Many people complain about not having some of the key boss battles from past games and the unique story mode and unique characters created for this game are not strong enough to carry any significant weight in the series. Those characters are not playable either outside of the story unless you glitch or hack the game. As a game that is meant to be a 20 year celebration and was mostly a cut and past situation where the game was not finished upon release and you couldn't invite your friends to play it. The game still has support, patches and a possibility for a bright future but it isn't anywhere as good as it could have been or as it was marketed to be. When me when I say it is better than you think it is it's more just the mechanics of the game at a competitive level and the balance of those mechanics and play styles. The net code and lack of stability online also holds it back. I can see things a bit differently now from the perspective of people who don't buy the game for the online mode. It isn't much of a celebration and isn't very exciting from your perspective and I hate to hear that since I wish it had more to offer players like you.

In a sense you are actually right. The open roam mode in the village was amazing, super refined and very fun. Storm 2 story mode and boss battles were the best though so I guess even from 1 to 2 Storm 2 got better with Boss battles and included an online mode. But in a sense they did get worse over time. I feel you
Oh and in terms of it being a Storm 4 dlc it definitely isn't it has improved upon the game breaking glitches of Storm 4 that players abuse. I play Storm 4 as well at a high level and I loved the game but when I went back to it it was really slow and not as smooth.

I know that collectively you all know a lot more than I do so I do my best to listen to what you say because it's a chance for me to learn and get closer to the truth. I don't have an issue changing my opinion when the facts stack up I want the anime community to be better and improve day by day if possible but to do that we have to try and tackle some difficult issues together and go through growing pains. I agree with you and think the same that the amazing mechanics in past games should be in the new ones. Mechanics I miss a lot are organic subbing from Storm 2, Tilt loops grab cancels and unique combos that take effort from generations, the relay system and instant awakening from Storm 3, the refined and balanced instant awakening system from Rev, and some of the cool switch tech from Storm 4. My answer to you on why some of these things aren't in the game is that those mechanics are intellectual property or IP for CC2 / Cyber connect 2 and to them it's all about the bag and profits. Just like how they released a collection with Storm 1 - Storm 4 they will probably do that again at some point and include some of the other games. If Connections was made to be the perfect game we would never go back to play older games and they would lose money. I think they know exactly what they're doing since they made Storm 4 the most successful anime game of all time and have made many games. It must be part of their business model. I could be wrong but it seems to be a clash flow and copyright thing where they make money forever. Thank you for your sub it means a lot. I'm not perfect but I do the best that I can. Lastly to your point about developing bad habits - I do play offline mostly with friends and rarely play online but as I’ve gotten more accustomed to online play I have noticed that sometimes my reactions feel off because I’m trying to account for lag 😂 it’s a funny phenomenon to have happen. But would definitely stress me out at a tournament AND I’m glad that you are being transparent about your skill capacity in the games. You often say “this isn’t to brag” and I personally don’t think anything you say feels like bragging, you even often show receipts of your time on leaderboards. To me it feels like you do this to communicate you’ve invested a lot of time and or mental energy into understanding the game and using the information to improve. You’ve always come across as a competent (and self aware) gamer who understands what your hard and soft limits are in terms of skill with a given team/main. You also spend a lot of time showing examples of how to play in less than favorable conditions. I think it’s good to be honest about and take pride in the things we do well.

The war arc was cool but the pain arc where Sage Naruto saves the village might be my favourite Naruto arc outside Itachis story line and Minatos Story line. Kimimaro and zabuza are underrated. 8:00 most recently played a person who saw my shino edits on tiktok. A lot of times when I come across a new kind of spam while running adult shino I do my best to download them on match one then counterplay and win rounds 2 and 3. The lag was so bad, and I could tell he was lagging a bit too. Even stopped my combo at one point because it shouldn’t have connected. After the match (it was laggy but playable and close) they sent me a nasty message about how I never finish a combo and I’m not as good as my videos make me look (I’ve posted 4 over several months like chill out lmao) But refused to rematch me. The game then matched us up four more times before he clicked rematch, I proceeded to perfect him twice with the very same team he called trash. Can you guess what he did after? Sent me a message saying I was a spammer for using melee to air combo loops so often and blocked me 😂 All of that happened because someone saw a video of me playing without lag, then fought me while there was lag, and refused to accept the truth, until it was beaten into him but adult shino’s bugs. I can only imagine what he would have said if I had used some of the more egregious ranged loops I can create with him. Because of that second chakra stealing jutsu
People use spam, spammer, rage quitter and other labels as blanket statements for why you are bad and as a justification for losing and for how bad they feel to make themselves feel better. The only official comment I know of that directly addressed the leader switch mechanic for s4 is that the devs “expected players to explore the new mechanic as much as possible” and even that is a paraphrased excerpt 😂 the copium to believe glitches were intended is crazy. And if it truly was intended they’d have left it in storm connections I feel like and they didn’t, the patched 90% of it out. I’m in total agreeance that switch tech and switch glitches are NOT the same.

They probably didn't like how players were using the glitches and made changes to go more with what they had intended for the games overall design and player experience.
@@DontLoseToFear that’s what I think too because you can still “buffer” a jutsu switch input but it takes the chakra for example. It doesn’t have the same priorities it had in s4 but it it’s possible for anyone to do and that’s what I feel makes it an intended mechanic. Otherwise there would be certain frame you’d have to reach before you can leader switch out of a jutsu.

good video, maybe you know this but when Temari throws your opponent to the ground you can pick them up using minato's second jutsu, it hits grounded opponents. After a rasengan you can do it too. 16:09 here you would have won faster with a second jutsu after the rasengan

Yeah I hear that, the other side of the coin is tough for the person fighting the Minato player. Edo minato was the best character in the game pre patch on Storm Connections release and Alive Minato waas too easy to play with all that armour on his jutsu so everyone was a Minato main. He takes a lot more skill to use in Storm connections but in Storm 3 he was way too stacked for sure but a lot of things in Storm 3 were broken that was just how the game was. It was broken but fun
I go against those type of players all the time it’s the worst thing ever, it’s either the connection looks like they’re lag switching or they get priority over the whole game. I’m top 17 in the world for PC and it’s honestly the worst experience. The skilled based matchmaking is the worst thing they added in this game. I go against the same top 10 people everyday and it’s hard to play a certain way because they have the cringiest play styles so I’ll have to play a way to counter that and doing that repeatedly isn’t fun at all. Also the queue times are awful so I have to play on all regions which clears me to play people in Asia with red bars. I love connections but one thing I missed from previous storms is the search option in ranked and how you can queue with anyone.
