    What about a 2016 mini coop, 8k miles and is selling for $13k? I find that really suspicious. History report is saying its only had one owner.

  • @automight1615
    @automight16152 күн бұрын

    The previous owner could have been an older person who mostly drove to the market close by once in a while. Is this being sold by the owner or a dealer? If you can't meet the owner then I'm not sure about this car. It could have been driven 8k miles the first year, then parked for the next 7 years. If you buy it from a private party, at least you can ask them questions about the mileage and they will tell you. But a dealer won't know the history.

    I've had it for over 10 years now and it's still going. You just have to keep it clean and maintained and it will take care of you for life. I'm only talking about the older models. I know nothing about the newer models. The company could have lowered it's quality to increase profits.

    Our two most-used burners were extremely uneven flame-wise, and I had followed all the "level the stove" and "clean/soak the burner head" advice with no luck, so I purchased a new head off eBay and tested one. Problem solved! I just received and replaced the second burner, with a similar result--everything is back to nice and even. I'm not sure that cleaning the burners creates the issue, as we clean the whole stovetop in the same manner, but only the two most frequently used burners had the evenness problem. Regardless, new parts worked, despite not being able to see any difference between the old and new by eye. If I get ambitious, I might pull out my micrometer and feeler gauges and see if the gaps and heights are significantly different, but for now I'm just going to be grateful for a stove that no longer burns everything on one side of the frying pans.

  • @automight1615
    @automight1615Ай бұрын

    Nice! I'm glad it all worked out. But you can test this theory yourself. If you file off one side of the burner head, you will see that the flames become uneven. This happens when we clean the burner head caps while the caps are still on the burner heads. Slowly wears off one side of the burner head and the flames become uneven. Unless of course if you spill tons of food on the stove, then the cleaning solution should do the job.

    I have a 10 year old unit. Never had any real problems. The grinder seemed to have gotten stuck. I cleaned the chute and grinder like I have done 100 times. Did not work. I was looking around for a new one and decided to check the internet for a solution before I spent another $360 for a new unit. Found this video and my life changed, lol. I took the disk off in 15 seconds and sure enough, a lot of coffee rounds jammed and stuck on the disk. Cleaned it and BOOM, works like new. Thanks for this video. Took 10 minutes to clean it. LED headlights are not like xenon headlights where you can change bulbs. LED headlight light bulbs are built into the headlight. There is no way to change those bulbs. I'm currently negotiating a deal on a 2000 Class B motorhome with only 13,000 on the odometer. I got to thinking about how plastics and rubber out gas from day one. You made a good point if somebody's actually driving the thing once every couple of weeks, but if something sits especially for 10 plus years, I think you're right you should probably pass. Ironically, these older vehicles with low miles tend to go for more too when they really should be going for super cheap. When cars look new and shiny people get excited though, I know I certainly did. Good post and I hope people take your advice. I know I'm passing on my purchase. It was actually the Carfax that made my decision. There was this huge gap where nothing was reported, no service, no oil changes, etc. Big red flag.

  • @automight1615
    @automight16158 ай бұрын

    Oh wow, that IS a big red flag and I'm glad you passed on it. That mileage is way too low for a 20+ year old vehicle. And you are right, people see an older car that still looks like a brand new one and get excited, then they end up overpaying for it. I don't necessarily think it should be super cheap but one should remember that every hose, gasket, seal, etc. has to be changed after purchase. And every fluid needs to be flushed/replaced, including the gasoline. The cost of doing all that should be kept in mind when making a decision on the price of the car. Thank you for the comment and kind words.

    Yes, those are great cars and beautiful too. I used to work for a rental car company and rented out Town Cars all the time. Never had any problems with them. Those cars are usually driven by older people, and most of the time they drive to close-by areas 2 or 3 times a week, hence the low mileage. They also take good care of them, usually. It should be a wonderful car. Just watch for leaks and fix them as soon as they appear so problems don't become nightmares.

  • @automight1615
    @automight16158 ай бұрын

    If your headlight wasn't get any power then the DRL would not work either. The ballast could be the issue but you'll be saving a lot of time and money by checking the bulb first. Inside your HID bulb glass there is a separate piece of round glass. If that round glass inside is dark gray or black and is no longer mostly clear, then your bulb is bad. If that glass has some white or yellowish haze but you can still see through it, then it is okay. If it is okay, then the problem could either be your ballast and/or igniter. Get a ballast that includes the igniter and you should be okay (if it needs an igniter).
