My background… I grew up in Southern California … Bill Pensom took me under his wing … my dad used to take me up to Bills home. I got birds from Bill others would kill for, but with the understanding that I’d never sell those breed stock… In the mid 1960’s I’d still pay $20 for a bird … Bill took care of me … I never liked Bills reds or red checks … they rolled too deep … and you never breed two deep rollers to another … I had lots of Bill’s whiter rollers … they spun tight, but not deep … I used to cross them with blue badges, silver red check badges, and shades of almond grizzle’s … I had to give all my birds 50++ to a good friend in 1967 … do to the Vietnam army draft… I had ten pairs and as many foster pairs … I’d end up with a 15-20 bird kit …then weed then weed them down to a 12 bird kit … Yeah I was very privileged knowing Bill Pensom … one weekend I was at Bill’s looking for a breeder cock bird… After watching his Kit perform he asks me if I saw anything I liked… “Not Really” … so he goes over to another loft pulls out this silver badge cock and tosses him up into the kit … yeah that’s what I’m looking for … enough said … when my dad and I left these two guys followed us out to our car and tried to trade me first two for one birds out of the back of their station wagon … Nope … when it got up to 12 of their birds for my one I still said no… My dad thought I was crazy … I say to my dad you don’t understand what Bill just sold me … “The Best” … good to be a young kid …

Nice work bro, your channel is great. Lumber is cut at a 2x2 dimension and eventually shrinks to 1.5"x1.5" when the wood fibers shrink. Same reason you see a 2"x4" actual measure at 1.5"x3.5". The length doesn't change though, since the fibers don't shrink lengthwise, just across the width.
