I have a question about the bulb keel. You bolt it to the hull of the boat with 17 bolts. which the diameter of each one is 20mm. The platform of the bulb keel is 1000 mm of steel by 400 mm wide that weighs about 6 tons. I would like to know how you calculated that the platform will withstand the stress on the hull, if the mast and the bulb keel are separated. Furthermore, the base of the boat is a piece of wood no more than 100mm thick where the bulb keel is bolted against the hull. calculating mass gravity, resistance force in a 35 knot storm(( and maybe more)) and the force of presion wave force against the bulb keel. There are also several KZreadrs who show that part on other boats that ends up being thirsty for the materials. Or it is only for sailing in good weather and not for crossing oceans. I did calculations for pippe, a vessel and flanges with bolt pressure. I would like an explanation. Do they have an internal steel plate that ties the hull to the bulkeel and mast?And if there is anyone else who wonders or likes this question, comment and contribute on Pinterest. I was observing the types of keel and their work with the sea with the forces of nature.

I recently got cast to play a master yacht builder in an original musical set in Naragansett. I was researching my character and got curious as to what exactly is involved in building these things! The following edge of the keel lined up with the following edge of the mast. Retractable wing keel and one half the distance from the mast to the forestay the blade keel of the headsails begins. The sizes are relative to the sail area of the main and headsails.

It is important that the sealer not contain any halogenated vinyl or halogenated carbon. These materials produce free radicals electrons that break the bonds in the wood. This results in blistering and peeling. The purest hydrocarbon oil based sealer and bottom paint. The temperature changes cause the halogenated vinyl and halogenated carbon to convert this energy to electrons and break the bonds.
