Hazel Chem

The birth place of Isar Pyrolysis (formerly WasteEx).
A startup based in Munich Germany building small scale plastic waste pyrolysis systems.

On the channel HazelChem co-founder Elias Hasel is exploring chemistry and plastic pyrolysis since 2016. This engagement over the time lead to the founding of Isar Pyrolysis with Marc Xia. Together we aim tackle the plastic waste disaster in the global south.

We offer a system that works without external infrastructure and can be easily transported.
If you are interested in the system, contact us via: [email protected]

Why can't videos be narrated anymore by actual human beings. What is the narrator hiding from..... AI is getting ridiculous.

People have recommended feeding the gas back in. I would recommend storing it for other uses of gas due to the mixed nature. It may not be the best but it’s certainly cheap.

I would like to see a video of recycling the solvents.Thank you! I am very scared of distilling stuff, other than essential oils and ethanol/methanol.Also, please help us choose the right condenser depending on the application. Keep up the good work with Isar pyrolysis system!

Your burning plastic. Is no one thinking of the exhaust gas being extremely cancerous and smelly. What about our breathing air quality? Did you do the calculations on that? Gasoline and diesel have exhaust systems to catch and clean combustion products. Have you designed such an exhaust system for your fuel? Most fuels are aliphatic hydrocarbons, most plastics are highly branched polymers. How do you prevent unwanted combustion products and promote clean burning? The government has put a stop to this for a reason, burning plastic isn't safe on any level!

Wouldnt adding a blocking group enable strictly ortho toluidine? Like sulfonation then nitration?

You have dealt with the hazards of melting plastic. I have not. I want to melt my mountain dew bottles and caps. Then, while the plastic is melted, pour it into a brick mold that has black sand and pea gravel in the bottom. I want to make a driveway out of these bricks. Do you think this is a good idea? What hazards or problems could occur?

I need help, I cannot understand the importance of the flare. I'm guessing that it's an outlet for the gass that did not get condensed. I might be wrong, but even if I was right, why the flame tho?

As of the name, I'd suggest something along the lines of: 1) Recycloplast 2) Plastoil, name alluding to all the -oil companies such as Statoil or Lukoil. I also think about trying it out in what I call "Kreosan" conditions (Kreosan is a genius YTber from city of Lugansk, who did wonders with very few materials). That's why I seek 2nd opinion: I think the best way to control the temperature and as a result control the pureness of fractions is to set up temperature gauges just before fraction collector and depending on the gauge's read adjust the amount of coolant in between various collectors.
