Squeaky Ruxpin!!
Just so you know, i dont think you can get cpoyright from teddy, if you can, ive never had it, and i post my teddy ruxpin using the tape alot, so i think its ok 👌
I'm confused on how you put the spring on the pinch roller thing
I hope there's more tech repairs 'cause I really enjoyed this! I personally would love to see a video on fixing a 2006 Teddy or maybe an old Apple computer. I understand if you don't have time for this, just a few random ideas. 👍
Is this a similar process for a 1998 yes! Entertainment tr?
Thank you for your video! I’ve been really blue lately… suffering some depression. My husband surprised me by bringing me home a Teddy Ruxpin from a yard sale today. None of the animatronics were working, but his cassette player did. So, I came right to KZread and found your video. My Teddy not only has sound, but ALL of his animatronics are working now!! His frame inside his head was broken, but I used fingernail acrylic… the powder like they use at the salons… and I repaired the frame! He’s good as new! I was 15 when Teddy was released. I never had an interest in him. I never knew I wanted one until I had one! Lol! I love this bear! Thanks sooooo much for taking the time to make this video! ❤
I am no electronics expert so I have a queston. Soldered to each motor for Teddy's eyes....upper and lower mouth there are 2 copper colored things that are shaped like resistors. Usually resistors have different colored bands for identification....these don't. They are copper colored and black on the ends of the smooth copper looking section. What are these called? What is their purpose? Where can I find this part to purchase? I have one that is bad which keeps Teddy's lower jaw from working. I can remove it and the jaw works. But, it must be there for a purpose and I don't want to cause any damage. Please give me advise. Zane.
One of My Teddy Ruxpin tapes audio goes in and out at one point of the tape for both sides. But it plays well the rest of the way.
Great Video. Thank you for a great guide on how to fix TR. I just wondered if you could help with the Red wire form the motor as it has come of thievery small PCB and i cannot see where to solder it back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My teddy moves a second after turning him on, then does nothing. Same every time I turn it on. I don't want to tear it apart and investigate the problem. Perhaps you could tell me the most likely problem without my having to do that.
It’s probably an issue with the motherboard.
@@TeddyandGrubby I put my multimeter on each component of my teddy, and found the problem to be the speaker. It was changed, and all works as it should. Also, I had run the batteries down with multiple attempts at making him work, so I also got more of those.
@@aliasprojects6214 Great!
@@aliasprojects6214That’s awesome! I just posted that my husband brought me home a Teddy from a yard sale today. I never had any interest in this bear because I was 15 when he was released. But I absolutely love mine! His cassette player works perfectly fine, but none of his animatronics worked. The frame inside of his face was broken and I fixed it with nail acrylic, you know, the powder kind that they use in the salons. He’s good as new now! After wiggling the barrels inside of his head, just like this gentleman showed in the video, my teddy works perfectly! I am as thrilled as can be!
It's really ashame that you and I are not neighbors. I have been working on/rebuilding Teddy Ruxpin, Grubby, Mother Goose, etc. for a number of years now. It would be interesting to compare methods and notes on these.
Dude,….. thank you so much,… I knew I had seen this video previously, and am stuck on trying to diagnose what’s preventing power from getting to the board, on a Rev E model, after eliminating that the pot switch on the back wasn’t the culprit, try to get to the tape door sensor to either fix or bypass it altogether, and got stuck on getting the plastic housing apart. Aside from the necessary repairs, it is superficially in otherwise near mint condition, and was afraid of breaking that tape head cover tab, but now I know, that’s basically the only way.
Is the pinch roller on the later model of Teddy the same size?
Why didn’t you ever make more videos? Seems like seven years ago was the last time anybody saw anything new from you. I know I personally would be very interested in seeing a grubby repair video as they are much less common.
I was able to get mouth and eyes working by just moving jaws and eyes manually up and down carefully but deliberately over and over again and everything came back to life with zero disassembly
With tape Playing?
Hey! What a great video :) I got my hands on 3 teddies, 1 bobhead teddy, two baby teddies, and two grubbies. I will be starting my first refurbish attempt! (Mostly to keep in my collection, extra teddies and grubby are there if I need parts, but hope to get them all back operational)! Just sending a message to see if your KZread channel is still active and if it would be okay to ask some questions if necessary using your videos as guidance! Thanks you so much for your content! Teddy and Grubby will be forever grateful :-)
Your motor is simply experiencing dead spots. I come across this problem with older toys quite often. Just disassemble the motor itself, clean the stator and all contacts.:51
You have given me inspiration to attempt surgery on Teddy. I hate to work on things that other people have attempted to work on before. Teddy's back was already removed when I acquired him. The 4 screws for the back are missing. Any idea of what size I need? Thanks for your time.....and for doing these great videos. Zane.
Nice job saving saving that original 1985 first generation teddy ruxpin

Totally thanks a bunch your video helped me fix a generation one 1985 original teddy ruxpin he has the metal cassette player and three servos I gently moved his mouth and eyes up and down I heard the servos buzzing so I helped them get connection without having to open teddy ruxpin
Hi thank you robin your video helped me fix my 1995 o g teddy ruxpin his eyes and mouth move teddy ruxpin will always be my favorite
OK I got the battery case for my teddy Ruxpin he doesn't turn on or do anything what is wrong with him?
By the way, like I've said, I have a teddy Ruxpin doll too from 1985. He's version one with the metal cassette and his upper mouth fell off and I put it back on temporarily but I don't know if I have to take him apart and glue it back on. What should I do?
Thank you!!!
You helped me so much if my teddy Ruxpin had stuck servos. I think I'm pretty positive that if he's not working right, I can 100% fix him now!!! Thank you so much!!!
I have a teddy Ruxpin. I haven't tested it yet, but let's just say his eyes and mouth didn't work. Would it be OK to move it manually?
Helpful again!!!
Again, thank you so much. This video is very helpful.
Thank you I found a Teddy Rruxpin at a thrift shop. I still can't test them though cause I'm waiting for the battery cover to come but if it doesn't work right, your video will be very helpful.
0:20 which cartridge was playing
The mushroom forest
Very helpful video. And chance you would know where to get the pinch roller spring?
I have that same first generation teddy ruxpin he has the metal cassette player and he works excellent except the servos that allow teddy ruxpin to move his eyes nose and mouth I paid $98.28 for my original first generation teddy ruxpin he grubby and 2006 back pack teddy ruxpin
I think it's worth it to save teddy ruxpin cassette players I never attempted to fix servos its pretty challenging
Nice job saving those two teddy ruxpin bears
Nice job saving that teddy ruxpin
Excellent tutorial. I can only dream if somebody sees this question given the age of this video. Does anyone know how to trade out a 1st gen mainboard for a newer(?) 2nd gen board? These guys have become too expensive to purchase & play that particular repair lottery.
After 38 years I got Teddy out for my grand kiddo's. it works except the head anamition, mine is 1985 model.. do the 92 and 85 model work the same way.
Where do you get the drive belts for the cassette player
I used this video to try to repair my 1992 Teddy Ruxpin. I have had a lot of trouble finding the 33MM and 35MM o rings but finally found them. The mouth moves only slightly and the lever for the eyes never moves up to move them. Wondering if the motor may not be strong enough to make this function properly? Any ideas would be most appreciated?

you sound like the original Thomas and friends narrator you know the one made with all miniatures
What size is the drive belt
Really appreciate this video. Been looking for something like this for years.
wish I was techy enough to fix mine. I got it off of ebay and didn't bother to notice that it was broken. 😒
I have a teddy but it won't move its moth I think the drive belt has been disconnected from the moto
I love this channel ❤️
I bought one recently and the tape plays fine- but the face wasnt moving and it wasnt even making noise. I checked the servos and theyre hard to move, theres no sound and no sign that it powers up? I read that the non movement could have killed the motors in the servos (hope im explaining this right). Is this true? Is there a way to find replacement motors or is it just a thing where ill have to replace the entire piece?
You could probably find similar servos that would fit it, maybe not an original, or try fiddling with the old. Or, usually old servos will still buzz if they are faulty, so it may have becme disconnected from the board, you could check that.
