Are the brackets supposed to stick out over the top of the valence once installed? If so, what a shame! Why have a nice, painted valence only to have gray metal clips sticking out?! 🤦🏼♀️

What does it mean when one side of the actual shade falls out of the casing? One side has a short nub but the other doesn’t have anything and the shade falls out.

The reason they didn't show the whole process is that while it isn't difficult, it is a little frustrating ... especially without decent instructions. After removing both ends, the cord mechanism comes right off but the other end has a plastic insert that has to be carefully pried out. There is a slot for a small screwdriver but the plastic is *very* thin so be careful when removing it. Take it to the other side and assemble. When assembling the cord mechanism side, be careful to seat everything well before screwing it together (I eventually took my fist and smacked it a couple of times to make everything tight). Two other things to watch for is to not overtighten the screws (they are secured by going through an almost ephemeral piece of plastic) and to not pull on the material that is secured to the top unit. The second time I did this, it went a LOT easier. They really should have done the whole process in the video because you have to line up the inserts correctly but it's done now and the wife unit is happy with the results which is all that matters.
