So the fuse was out and the light did not work. You replaced the H11 unnecessarily. Or did you take the opportunity to do that because the fuse was out?

When purchasing the oil filter socket make sure to buy one with 14 flutes not 15. Learned this the hard way. Cheers!

I love how everything on the TDM, from a headlight to a battery, requires some level of disassembly when on the TRX, Hornet, KTMs, whatever else is here, it's a 30 second job 😂 It's not like it's a lot of work, so no big deal, but it's at least a little irritating. Cheers for the video 👍

The red brake grease is for internal hydraulic components at assembly. "Rubber Grease" that is rubber and fluid inert. No reason to use it externally, it's not meant for that. A tiny smear of molybdenum if you are paranoid-but also not really necessary as the piston pushes-not slides- against the brake pad. You don't want anything that is lubricating near brake components. The rubber grease you use will just melt and run onto the disk then the pads.

Imagine building something so weak that it crumbles after 10 years or so because the plastic gets old. Cmon bmw! Not like headlights are important!

very well-done job, excellent video, I have an R1200R 2007 and it's basically the same, BMW made some homework on those bikes so on the new models you do not have to disassemble the whole rear arm in order to extract the driveshaft and that is a beauty. I managed somehow to replace the boots and grease the splines without taking off the rear arm...but it was not easy to connect back the shaft to its place.

I simply wonder why BMW didn’t make the oil pouring hole on the top of the final gear case on the right side so that you don’t have to remove the wheel.

Is there any thing that needs to be done to the rotor as far as turning it like a cars rotor?

Nice video. Not sure if mine is on the way out on my R1200RT but every now and then I press the starter and it turns once, then dies. Sometimes if I hold the button down longer than 2 sec it drains the power until a factory reset happens. Usually only happens once after a short ride if I'm getting petrol or going shopping, so engine is still warm. And if I let go, let the battery recover for a few secs it then starts as normal. Battery shows 12v+ on the dash with engine off
