If you want quality fabric at seven dollars a yard then you would subscribe to the KZread channel called Sew Yeah Quilting Saturday nights their Fabric seven dollars a yard and it’s five dollars for shipping and they don’t have garbage And yes it is better quality than Joanns You said you like Joann Fabric Kona cotton I actually despise that fabric it feels like broadcloth Also don’t like spoonflowers Kona cotton either I had to buy microtex needles just to plow through it

That’s a gorgeous quilt. It’s very unusual because of the fabrics used and it shows off those panels really effectively. I hope the person who orders it is delighted with it. They should be.

This is an excellent free motion design. I like the density you use because when the quilts are washed over and over, it creates the same sort of texture as some of my vintage quilts. I used to make quilts for Kids with Cancer which was an organization in South Carolina. I used a similar design because I thought it went so well with the modern quilt patterns I was using. The best part is pulling them out of the dryer after washing them to see the crinkle effect! I can see why you chose to use it on the latest quilt you just finished with the African fabric.

Looks gorgeous. It looks like you added a special stitch around each block with like a variegated thread or is those highlights part of the fabric? I must have missed the first videos on this quilt. Love how you pieced the blue areas. I will go back and watch to see if you showed that. ❤

I’m a weaver, as well as a knitter and quilter. Commercial textiles are cheaper now (adjusted for inflation) than they have ever been in the course of history. This is due to overseas manufacturers and cheap shipping. We can’t make a reasonable return on our time and materials compared to even fairly compensated employees in low cost of living countries, much less sweat shops. There are some folks who do value our work, but there are also those who look at a $40 hand woven dish towel, and exclaim “I could get a towel at Walmart for $4”. I sometimes say, “I can’t afford to sell my work, I can only give it away.”
This has been a great project. It is a beautiful quilt-a work of art. Thank you for sharing with us😊
