    I've always wondered how to make a "in flight" diorama....never had the time to think it through, so thank you! And thank you a second time for the ingenious idea of how to make a 144 scale pilot!!

    Brilliant! I never would have thought of covering the whole model in aluminum foil, then painting it, then using lighter fluid to dissolve the paint. Looks just like the photo! Thanks for sharing this technique. I will definitely try it in the future.

    Kind of the same effect on anything my brother paints....'what's prep'? Someday I'll put my limited skills into a nice plane kit. Likely it'll turn out fairly nice, then I'll drop it while putting it in the display case....happened before on a Vimy kit....

    Zippo fluid...I so much miss COX Nitro Fuel that would strip all paint from a model without clouding the canopies or etching the plastic.

    Mixture is consist thinner and paint. This is paint ratio in the %100 mixture :)

    What kind of adhesive is X-22? Where can it be purchased? I Can't find any info about it on line.

  • @davidcole333
    @davidcole33316 күн бұрын

    X22 is a Tamiya acrylic paint that is glossy and clear. It has no color pigment in it. You can buy it anywhere else you would buy Tamiya paint!

  • @Scaleaton

    Also Future or Pledge floor polish work too. But I highly recommend find a cheap "Foil Adhesive" from any art store. Those are water based and exactly same with the expensive scale model versions.
